2 and 1/2

Lovesexy in Oakland and Jam of the Year in Albuquerque with Graham Central Station opening.

The 1/2 time was Musicology where I watched the live kickoff show in LA on a movie screen in Albuquerque.

In some ways the big screen version was better than being there live. It was like a 5 camera shoot with lots of close ups where you could see every nuance of emotion and facial expression. The seats were comfy and no one stood up the whole time to block the view. The sound system was top shelf.

Good question because I'm not sure. Lol
Going back to
Parade tour 1986 MSG NYC
Lovesexy tour 1988 MSG
Jam of the Year 1997 (three separate shows in los Angeles)
One Nite Alone 2002 Phoenix AZ
Musicology 2004 Phoenix
Live Out Loud 2013 Phoenix

There was one or two I'm forgetting. He toured when the the rainbow children came out- i don't recall the name of that tour. It was 2001?

One thing I'm grateful for: I always somehow got good seats. Was always in the first 10 rows by chance.
In Phoenix 2013 I was front row up against the stage, and I hoisted my sister up do she could dance with the others as he played DJ for part of the show. He actually spoke to her. Lol she will never forget it.
And I'M the huge lifelong fan. Haha

Damn, we got some concert vets up in here (trying hard not to be jealous). I own every concert program up to date, does that count? lol wink

LOVE reading everyone's lists. Would be interesting to know what concert was the ''stand out'' one in everyone's mind.

Believe me if I wasn't in diapers during his 80s reign my list wouldn't be so humble razz :

2002.06.15 Toronto One Night Alone Soundcheck

2002.06.15 Toronto One Night Alone Concert

2004.06.21 Auburn Hills, Michigan Musicology

2004.06.27 Toronto Musicology

2004.06.21 Toronto Musicology

2011.11.25 Toronto Welcome To America

2016.03.25 Toronto Piano And A Microphone

Every single date was followed by an after party. That was the real treat for me, to see see Prince in a more relaxed light.

I will forever regret not seeing him with 3RDEYEGIRL, & more importantly @ Paisley Park... but I am very grateful for what I have experienced.

16 shows over 30 years beginning with 2 shows on The Purple Rain Tour at Nassau Collesium, Hit And Run in 1986 at Madison Squre Garden, Lovesexy Tour also at MSG, an aftershow at Roseland, a Diamonds And Pearl show at Radio City, 2 Emmancipation Shows (weakest of all of the tours that I saw), 3 Musicology Tour shows, 4 Welcome2America Tour shows and the last time at Mohegan Sun back in 2014. I also saw him join Sheila E at The Ritz back in '85 and Stevie Wonder in NYC at MSG a few years back playing guitar on Superstition. Not nearly enough but I consider myself lucky to have seen all of the shows that I did! RIP PRN.

few times since 1986...most weird was "crashing" a soundcheck at studio 54 NYC ...for a minute or 2
