How Many Times Have You Seen Him Live?

In all, for me, probably around 20 or so.

Everything from Purple Rain Civic Center, Lovesexy MPLS, Paisley Shows, Glam Slam, Erotic City, Ruperts for Sign O The Times, through LA Billboard, LA Welcome to America, etc. etc.

Plus a lot of "almost concerts" like being in Paisley for the Gold shoot and stuff like that.

And --- seeing (mainly hearing) him, the Time, et. al back in1983 when they used to practice daily at the one-time pet food warehouse in St. Louis Park; back then we kept wanting to hear him jam something from 1999 since those were the hits me and my friends knew as we walked back from St. Louis Park High School.

Y'all?

Was planning on making some of the shows on the Piano tour when hubby got back from Africa...but sadly it wasn't meant to be.

Five.
Lovesexy '88 when I realized Sheila E was the baddest drummer in the world.

Jack The Rapper convention '91 where he brought out and showcased songs from the upcoming Diamonds & Pearls. Hell of a performance he was trying to show black radio he was back.

97 Jam Of The Year

Again maybe in 98 or 99 can't recall what he was touring off.

Then once more about 2001ish maybe. We walked out. The venue was SRO but mugs were smoking dropping ashes everywhere. He was doing the whole gig as some kind of medley it seems.

He'd hit a few strokes of this then go to that without ever really settling down in a good groove. He was tossing us snippets and scraps of songs and truthfully it was sounding like the record. I said with all this smoke in here I can go home and listen to the vinyl.
That's the last time I saw him.

4-5. Missed this last one in DC. tickets got snatched up like the meal. I remember having to do duty 24 hours no sleep (military) then get off at 12 noon, 5 hours later. Still in uniform drove 6-8 hours to catch a show in Charlotte, NC. Check into my hotel room with 1 1/2 hours to wash that butt and dress (I need 8 hours). Went to the show. Strolled pass Kip rapping to some ladies. Enjoyed the show. Back to my room for a FEW hours of ZZZZs and drove 6-8 hours back to base to get to work on time. That's LOVE.

My fav was DC when he introduced Tamar. I asked him to come to me (finger motion). He was on his way. Guitar chord too short. Damn staff.

23. First time Nude Tour Rotterdam 1990. Last time Melkweg Amsterdam 2011. And all the European tours in between (except London 2007, but that wasn't really a tour). It's been one helluva a ride and that last one was the best! Thank U, brother. pray

Member of the org for a long time- first time posting. Nice to read all the posts, still hard to believe he's gone...

I've seen him roughly 27 times in 31 years- arena shows, after shows. I was at the first three shows at the South Beach Glam Slam back in the day- those were among the most amazing.

Took a friend from HS to her first show, front row in front of Rhonda, second Musicology show at MSG. I had been promising my friend a Prince show for years, truly amazing...

London, LA Forum, Tramps with Chaka and George Benson, Irving Plaza in NYC- waited in line to get in for many, many hours- he went on so late, I stood next to Wyclef- great show, Citi Nightclub in Boston, my first after show when I was in college

So many great memories, so many wonderful shows- sigh

13 times total I think... 1994 at Glam Slam was the first.
