I will miss that place forever. Many of the very best times I ever had online took place in the NPGMC chat room.

It was 1980 when I was 13 years old, when I first heard prince singing "I Wannna Be Your Lover", while Willis danced with Charlene on an episode of "Diff'rent Strokes". From that single song the intrigue began, this little boy became fascinated, hooked, and awed at everything Prince say or do. I couldn't meet a girl without making her a mixtape filled with Prince ballads. I bored my friends with constant talks about a new Prince song that had been released. I even practiced my walk to resemble his. I even had a night by myself filled with tears back in the 90's listening to the lyrics to "Lady Cab Driver", because I truly felt his loneliness. Was fortunate to have experienced 9 concerts both big and small venues. So when I heard the news of his passing I didn't think it would matter much because I never knew him personally. I'm so glad I was wrong. His passing caused my tears to fall after the first night had fallen. Pain ensued for four days afterward, realizing that my earth was without Prince. It still is so hard to believe. I wish him here, alive, everyday. I miss him. It hurts to realize he was quickly cremated. Foolishly, I feel as if the cremation erased all hope of bringing him back. I don't like knowing that he might have been feeling alone as he did when he sang "Lady Cab Driver" in his last days.

I miss you so much, Prince. I wish U heaven as well as I wish to C U again.

I recently rejoined this site after sadly finding out last week that Prince had unexpectadly passed away.

I like all of you was in a state of shock upon hearing the news, I still am.

I have been a fan of Prince since 1985 , and like most of you even though I didnt know him personally or anything. But somehow it felt like he was part of my life, because he definitly was.

I had to wait the 5 days before I could post anything after rejoining the site.

I just want to say simply Rest Peacepully Prince and Thank You For All the Beautiful Music You Have Given this World, You are Sadly missed by thousands of people.

"only wanna see u laughing in the Purple Rain"

The entire show that 'Motherless Child' comes from is up, as well. The user who uploaded it has a lot of great stuff that people should check out while they can (if you haven't seen them before, of course). You can find it here...

Watched it late last night and really enjoyed it. Ended up listening to and watching Prince stuff for about eight hours, almost stayed up all night. If felt good for the first time. Still really sad, but a lot of my favorite jams still felt good.

Over the years I haven't been really active on this site but I read it frequently. I am really sad over this loss. I couldn't even function for 7 days without sobbing. Prince music is all I listen to... He gave me confidence in a lot of aspects of my life. His music also always pointed me back to Christ. It is so important to know that he loves God and I know he is in true paradise. I also believe that he was given insight into the day he'd be reunited with the creator and know that he was NOT afraid of death... Hope that heals somebody. I saw the clouds on that day, the rainbow, purple in the sky and the incredible legacy he left. smile Lets continue to love God and love one another. xo

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to download videos from facebook and youtube safely onto a mac?? I've been trying to figure it out, but I'm nervous to download software first. If anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it! So many incredible videos have already disapeared, and I'd love to save some while I can.

Your early story sounds similar to mine. That was also the first time I can recall hearing a Prince song, was when Willis hit play and started dancing for Charlene to "I Wanna Be Your Lover" in Diff'rent Strokes. I didn't know Janet Jackson, but I knew "Charlene" was HOT and beautiful; one of my early crushes and the main reason I kept tuning in. And I didn't know Prince, but I knew I liked his music. I so wanted to be Willis in that moment, and I was barely even 10 years old, but I could relate, already trying to impress my brother's girlfriends who were at least 3 years older than me.

.

It was a couple years later, seeing Prince on MTV, that really hooked me. Just something about those eyes, the confidence, the attitude... the music! I got the 1999 album, by request, for Christmas and played it and only it for months, all thru the summer and beyond. Believe me, there was something magical, to say the least, about being a 12-year old boy listening nonstop to that album, while going thru everything I did that year. I remember even taking it with me at night when I took a bath, just chilling in the tub and soaking it all in. 'Most every thing I did that year, those songs were my accompaniment.
.
In my 12-year old mind, there could never ever be anything greater than this album, ever ever. It just wasn't possible. It's still my favorite album of all time. And like you, too, I connected to the lonely sounding "Lady Cab Driver" (for many reasons). "Something in the Water" was also a fav for the same reasons. But for all its intricacies, "Automatic" was my top favorite Prince song for several years. Find a quiet moment, put on headphones, turn it up, and listen why. That's why.

.

"i pray that when u dream, u dream of how we kissed, not with r lips, but with r souls... stop me if i bore u"

.

Unfortunately I'm not sure I can help as I'm on a PC, using Firefox. But I use NetVideoHunter, which works and works well. It grabs pretty much any kind of video without converting them. Just gives you an option to download whenever a new video loads.

Also, try download.com (or whatever it's called now). Nearly all the software is safe there, and if it's not it will say so in the user comments. You can also sort for Mac only. Seems to be something there called MacVideoDL, at least. I didn't look farther than that.

Ugh Sharpton.
What makes him think he should reveal this (charity details) now when Prince specifically turned to him because he wanted to keep it confidential ??

My relationship with Prince started when I was 13 - once I heard Housequake and saw him do those splits i was hooked. He became an obsession and 26 years later he still is. He has unknowingly helped me grow in so many ways. It's hard to describe how empty I feel now. He was so entwined with everything I did and everything I am. He's a part of my DNA. He helped me through every bad time I've ever had. I've visited this site many times but never posted, and now I feel drawn again to the family Prince has created. It has helped me greatly to see there are other people going through similar feelings, especially as this is something people can't understand, and I don't want to cheapen it by explaining.
He is us and we are him. The only solace I can find is in what he stood for....peace, love and equality. He lives on in us and the way we treat each other.
We're all in the same boat. Keep rowing.

Tracy died soon after a long fought civil war,
Just after I'd wiped away his last tear
I guess he's better off than he was before,
A whole lot better off than the fools he left here
I used to cry for Tracy because he was my only friend
Those kind of cars don't pass you every day
I used to cry for Tracy because I wanted to see him again,
But sometimes sometimes life ain't always the way

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad, so bad
Sometimes I wish life was never ending,
And all good things, they say, never last

Springtime was always my favorite time of year,
A time for lovers holding hands in the rain
Now springtime only reminds me of Tracy's tears
Always cry for love, never cry for pain
He used to say so strong unafraid to die
Unafraid of the death that left me hypnotized
No, staring at his picture I realized
No one could cry the way my Tracy cried

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad
Sometimes, sometimes I wish that life was never ending,
And all good things, they say, never last

I often dream of heaven and I know that Tracy's there
I know that he has found another friend
Maybe he's found the answer to all the April snow
Maybe one day I'll see my Tracy again

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so bad, so bad
Sometimes I wish that life was never ending,
But all good things, they say, never last

All good things that say, never last
And love, it isn't love until it's a cry

sad

Exactly how I feel 2. Thank U shelleyw7.

A feeling of self-worth will caress U,
The size of the whole wide world will decrease,
The love of God's creation will undress U,
And time spent alone my friend, will cease.
