Personally, I love it - much more my speed that PH1. Weird Tidal sidebar - bought it, in FLAC, from Tidal (yes, had to re-purchase PH1 to get it - which I've now bought digitally twice! & once physically!) and... the prices on tidal are listed in American $ - 26 something... When you pay in euros, as i did, it translates at - yes, 26 something euros - should be about 21. Anyway! ...You only find out in you receipt.

Thats a good point. I would write their customer support. Aspiro is a Swedish company so they're probably not thinking about US/Euro conversion and the store seems to have been started in the US so details like this probably haven't been brought to their attention. Change it one more time..

If I had not heard any of the songs before I heard the CD I would be saying this is amongst his best albums. I cannot fault him or the cd for me being a diehard.

I'm loving this album. Very pleasantly surprised. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Sorry. This album is really boring. HNR phase one I like better. Looking forward to Phase 3 and the concert on Monday

Goodness these songs sound so old and clunky
Prince bye boy... I actually wish he would just take a break. It's time [Edited 12/13/15 20:28pm] Dance... Let me see you dance

Second listen this evening. This album is on fucking FIRE!!!! IT'S SO GOOD. I Would still add Free Urself as the opening track and remove Screwdriver though

I'm even going to take back what i said about removing Screwdriver. It adds that extra rock track on the album which helps to balance the funk rnb and jazzy tracks. All good!

I find this album to be quite a mature release. No silly teenage style concepts being explored or cringe worthy attempts to be on trend. Just Prince style music from an estblished musician. It's an enjoyale album to listen to as an adult from an adult artist. Like the tracks...but I personally feel this could have been better seperated from the 'Phase' series...and perhaps entitled "Revelation" or "Groovy Potential" as the album title...obviously with alternate album artwork and not the silly cartoon.

OMG.. this is soo much better than phase one. I am very happy he included the first version of screwdriver. This is what Prince should have released with Phase one. I am only on Revelation and I am loving this. This is what a 57 year old Prince should release. I am very happy with this cd.

Sweet Jebus that press release is beyond delusional. .

Just from the snippets: So, we are back to reality again. Prince is an old man and so does his music sound like: kinda old! It's nice, because he knows this vocabulary much better than more modern sounds, but in the end: it's already done and not relevant anymore.

On first listen, not bad at all. Total throwaway but glad some of these songs are getting slightly more exposure than before (.... ish). HitnRun indeed. [Edited 12/14/15 2:01am]

I find it a very solid album. It's sort of Prince doing what he does, but I'm fine with this and I like this much better than Josh' "experiments" on Phase One. Being an album listener I'm glad the several songs that were floating around as singles so far found a home there, coz I hardly ever listen to those orphan single tracks in the end. I hope the other singles from those last few years will find a home in Phases 3 to 5: Boyfriend, Ain't Gonna Miss U When U're Gone, Live Out Loud, Same Page Different Book, U Will B, That Girl Thang, Chapter & Verse, Menstrual Cycle, Octopus Heart, If I Could Get Ur Attention and Free Urself are tracks I'd like to have on proper albums. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

no, but it sounds about right

Free Urself and If i could get ur attention sound like they are newer and will be with a new batch of songs IMHO

Listening to it as a whole, it left me with the "nothing to write about" feeling. There are great tracks ("Groovy Potential" is really outstanding, but also others) but to me it lacks something to put in the list of "memorable". I don't know exactly what.

he should have releae this first not phase one as Not heard album but know from track already heard these are alot of his best tracks of last few years. And would have been a much better commercial bet. 2 young dare groovy potential screwdriver batimore big city etc are way ahead of what he as been releasing on rescent albums. Glad he as done right thing and put these out on a albumwhich will beat aoa, plec electrum and phase one put together easily. it was confusing seeing him release inferior albums and keeping better tracks off the album.

They basically shitted on HitnRun Phase 1. So they r not on some dick riding shit... I agree with most of the points in the review....Especially calling out some of the silly fans bitching that they have already heard some of these songs....Anyway, peep it...

It’s been a mere three months since Prince dropped HITNRUN Phase One first on Jay-Z’s Tidal streaming service, and then a few weeks later via more traditional outlets. Arguably the single worst album of his legendary career, the sterile and soullessPhase One quickly sank like a stone, notable more for being the first product under Prince’s highly publicized deal with Tidal than for its music. At the time there was speculation as to whether a Phase Twowould materialize—that speculation can now be put to rest. On Saturday, 12 December, without any warning whatsoever, Prince fans awakened to the news that HITNRUN Phase Two is available via Tidal to either purchase and download or to stream via the subscription service.

By far the most accurate review I've seen. Though I don't think Phase One should be completely forgotten. After all, it had June and 1000 Hugs & Kisses. As for Phase 2 having too many songs from the past, that doesn't bother me one bit. The first ever album I bought was Thriller and before I got it I had already heard most of it through singles that had been released. So I look at the likes of Xtralovable and Groovy Potential as being singles released before the album.
