Can you imagine if everyone from the org actually got in one room together at the same time and people identified their handle on the org...who would get beat first? The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

This is so weird, why is he now releasing new music on Spotify when he just took all his music off there and appeared to move to Tidal. I'm not complaining per se as I have a Spotify account so it's obviously better for me than if he did put the song exclusively on Tidal, but it seems to be completely at odds with his recent actions. Regardless, looking forward to checking out the song, do we think this is going to be on the new album?
I would guess that he's simply playing them off one another. Although, it could easily be a ploy to draw fans to TIdal. Drop a single on Spotify and the album via Tidal.
I also suspect Bart is right about the new album. WB obviously aren't going to release it less than a year since he released 2 other albums and a free associated artist album. Kobalt isn't really an option. That leaves the online streaming services. Floating out songs here and there to see who's going to offer the best terms.
I like the song, the Sly Stone bass is awesome. It's a funk jam so lyrically... yeh it's word play, & t-shirt slogans, but there are a few funny one liners in there. I hear the similarity to "Feel Better/Good/Wonderful". In that sense it's a bit of a throwaway track.

Decent funky track, though it sounds a bit like Prince on auto pilot. He doesn't really seem very inspired. People as talented as this guy can do this stuff in their sleep. I really think his production and writing on Andy Allos and Liv Warfields album is more on point. |

Listened once. Its alright. Sounds like Prince-by-numbers and the lyrics dont hold any interest for me.... Plus they flow about as smoothly as a category 5 white water rapid.
Now i fear for my life because I think I may have said something slightly negative in this thread......... Luckily I dont give a fuck. [Edited 7/30/15 12:32pm] |

It looks like Bart wouldn't make it. I like that guy though. Of the released songs this year I like Baltimore and Stare best. I hope the next album(S) drop soon. I am digging Stare for all the reasons listed. I love how the song fades back in around the 3 minute mark. That's different. |

Hmmmm, funky. But like with the AOA lead singles, I'm not going to be overplaying these tracks and end up being tired of them when the album drops.
Aree with you on that...viewing Hardcocklover as the lead single, and you always used to play that to death before the album. Gonna try not to listen to an wait so the whole album is new, especially if it's clocking in at about 45 minutes.
Which makes me ask do we think this is fron Hitnrun? Is there any metadata with the track to say its on the album or what place it is on the tracklisting? And if it sounds a little offkilter to hardcock then maybe Free Urself still has legs and we're getting that and hitnrun? Comin str8 outta Preston... |

I can do it easily: Militant basically ordered everyone to adore AOA or else you weren't a good fan. Hell, EVERY TIME there's a bit of criticism the famz attack anyone who dares to publsih such vile words about their hero. Hell, this very thread wasn't a page old and already somebody was preliminarily attacking me.
.
Here's an idea: STICK TO THE TOPIC instead of making baseless personal attacks.
A. You can prove it? Great, post the links where Militant basically ordered everyone to adore AOA or else they aren't a good fan
B. You want to stop all this Bart bashing? It's easy! Just post 5 songs that Prince has released in the last 5 years that you think are great. Or however many you're comfortable with.
Bart, the thing is this - you've been posting negative stuff about Prince for what seems like two decades. And yet you're still here. And still following Prince. Which makes absolutely no sense at all.
So either you're completely obsessed with bringing down Prince, or (hopefully) there ARE some good tracks he's released this decade. Tracks that are good enough to keep you interested but for some reason you refuse to acknowledge.
So acknowledge (relatively) recent stuff you think is great. Do it here and now. I guarantee you it will put an end to nearly all the negative stuff people post about you. Maybe even all of it.
I think you'd have to get him drunk first.
Seriously though, if we have any secrect millionares on the org. We need to organise some kind of surprise party for BVH. Get him off his tits and dancing to 1999 the new master.

perhaps "Free Urself" is simply another track on the HITNRUN album? could be that it used to be the title track but the concept of the disc changed somewhat and now it's 'just' an album track. perhaps?
anyway, i told myself i would not play any of the singles or if i could not hold out to at least listen to them only 1 time.
i've now listened to Hardrocklover 58 times according to itunes
but i'll stop listening to Stare right now. if i can

Fun song, unusual start, then funky kinda by the numbers, but it gets better. I like the little bit of experimenting but felt they could've pushed it a little further. I like the bass & horns & overall sound, the samping was cool too. Can't wait for the album, hope it'll be another 2 album set of some sort. |

so, gave it a listen, really, really like it - wish I hadn't read the Seinfeld comment earlier! Gonna try not to listen to again, didn't grab me as unusual as hardcocklover so be interesting to see how this fits the flow of the album. Still holding out there may be more than one - but deleting spotify so I'm not tempted to overplay. No idea how you get it into itunes from spotify anyway...and not gonna look in the naughty places! I still feel that's better than Josh on autopilot. I prefer this to both XFace and Hardrocklover.
But after hearing Adonis&Bathsheba earlier this year and being reminded of what Prince is capable of, most of what he does these days seems rather throwaway The wooh is on the one! |

I disagree with the "funk by numbers". That bass-line is not as immediately catchy as it could have been. He's deliberately gone for something more. The same with the horns. It would have been so easy to throw in an instantly catchy funk standard riff, but he takes a more complicated path. Which I think is to his credit.
Other than the clunky line about everybody needing to "jam cuz this party's got a ham"? I assume this is a vague reference to "Starfish". It's hard not to like that bass though. If the lyrics had some substance to them rather than just Prince being a diva it would have been a keeper. The comedy lyrics give it a limited shelf life.

He's bored... Was a former Prince fan back in the day, can c he's up in age now... He's just bored... Doesn't enjoy Prince's music anymore but still fascinated about him... Read all his books, Alex Han book, Per Nilson book, he studied Prince... Why he still posts negativity or "truth" as he refers it to... He's just bored... It gets lonely in a small apartment in Europe with your old school vinyl collection. |

Lame as fuck.
Just another run of the mill 1 chord based "song" that consists of nothing more than a few "funky" licks produced in the usual HiFi-polished manner (his "funky" template).Lyric content: "We" are funky.YAWN.
Btw - his overuse of the word "we" instead of "i" as if he had a powerful army/gang/movement behind him is becoming ridiculous. This has become a lyrics formula lately everytime the lyrics are about how "funky" he/we is or how hard he/we/they can "party" (with carrot sticks and cucumber smoothies).
Yikes.
