Credit to prince though, for releasing two very different sounding songs. They dont really go together so it will be interesting how this new album is going to come together.

Stare is quite funky! Digging the bass line.

I like the bass (the first ten seconds actually got me pretty excited) and the nice little creepy-sounding synth, but that's it. It's a bland throwaway, same kettle of fish as Da Burgeois - which is a better track. Another party song. I'd love for Prince to write something that was retrospective and personal - but all he's saying is 'look how cool I was'.

Let's agree that has a fun vibe going on. The bassline is slammin'

Bottom line: Everyone has electic tastes and favorites, let's just enjoy these songs for what they are...a fresh sound for Mr. P.

I must say, whent I heard the snippet a couple of months ago I was not impressed, but after hearing the whole song I am hooked. Most killer base guitar in many a year. So now we have a POSSIBLE four song tracklist for HitNRun?

1) Hardrocklover

2) Stare

3) X's Face

4) 1000 Hugs and Kisses

For me that's a big 4 for 4. I am digging the sound of these songs much more than AOA, even though I do enjoy that album. These songs to me have more of an edge and less cheese. As long as he doesn't put Baltimore on there, I think we may have a heck of an album getting ready to drop.

It's a cute track. My only criticism is the lyrics. Prince, sis, grow up.

i am not sure it is the lead single...i think it is more like a teasing single...

sounds like newpowersoul, musicology and the black album spent a steamy night in a dayton motel room and nine months later one of them dropped this. i like it.

Hmmmm, funky. But like with the AOA lead singles, I'm not going to be overplaying these tracks and end up being tired of them when the album drops.

Prince is certainly blessed with prodigious talent. The problem is this is yet another stab at funkiness that falls short of expectations. Dead on arrival.

We also know that a new version of "This Could Be Us" is on the album.

Eh - it's a lightweight. But the Sexy Dancer-check made me smile.

We gets up reworked and better produced. Nice, but not memorable. No "hit", just a groove, no great melody.
