I can see why musicians would want more, just as I see why they've always wanted more--but I think, honestly, that the purchase vs. stream thing is a significant thing to consider if people start saying musicians are getting cheated in a new way. And there really isn't that much coming in through streaming, so how are they going to distribute what really isn't there?

it's the beat guitar heavy song like Marz from PE but unlike Marz this seems much more like a commercial for the album instead of a showstopper single. if it's on HITnRUN, guarantee none of the other songs will be like it.

Doesn't even hold a candle to Marz.

Ok song, not great not bad... Nothing special... To be honest haven't played it again since the first week it was released.

Hardrocklover has much more depth as a song...

Just listened to Stare for the first time and i certainly liked it! Lovely little funk nugget.

For the most part I don't have the tapes anymore. I will say that the first time I listened to Romance 1600 on a digital copy was an interesting experience. My first copy of the album was a cassette, and I found it in a store several hundred miles from my home--I listened once or twice before it got damaged (I believe a Coke was spilled on it--I don't remember the exact details, but the artwork and everything was stained and damaged from the liquid as well). The result was that the thing dragged during a few seconds in the middle of A Love Bizarre and then on the flip side during Romance 1600. It took quite a number of listens to the songs undamaged before I got used to the non-dragging versions. They just didn't sound right to me.

Ain't no way "Crucial" is above "Adore". Or "Condition".
It's in the composition, "Adore" is level above, it flirts with all the greatest black music Pantheon.
"Crucial" is Prince flirting with Prince in front of a mirror.
In "Adore", he's singing to her (whomever she might be), and you can tell.

I bought vinyl for what I found vinyl for (I lived in a small town of around 9000, with no record stores, just what the the local general stores carried--which was practically nothing--and a "music store" that was primarily instrument oriented--their entire record selection was limited to a rack the size of a card table--and it was cassette and 45s). I had Prince, Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain, and Around the World in a Day on vinyl. And then, until the 90s, I had most singles (including 12-inches) on vinyl, too. Once I moved to college, a hundred miles away (in 1988), I frequented used record stores and picked up a lot of protege material on vinyl, but I rarely saw Prince's own work in them. And the new record stores were almost entirely shifted over to cassette and introducing CD--the only vinyl I was likely to find in them were 12-inch singles (I'd bought all the earlier ones on trips to the city). My own turntable was at home anyway--there was no room in my dorm for it, so as a practical matter, I still mostly listened to the things I had on vinyl by way of cassette dubs of them.

I see way more vinyl in stores now--but by 1986, vinyl albums were pretty much gone in my hometown, or even in the closest big city.

This is the first track to really get under my skin since Groovy Potential! Love that sound of the bass at the start, what more do you need?! funk, funk funk. It makes me want to dance & move & shake & that kinda music makes me feel good Really loved Clouds & couple others on AOA, but if Stare & Hardrocklover r anything 2 go by, I, gonna love Hit n Run even better.
