Well that does look to be a record in that new graphic work, showing relevance to the message being projected. Very much unlike other recent artworks. Did someone find out they'd been REPLACED yesterday? hmmm

See what I mean? I'm supposed to be finding this stuff, not you.

That's why I know lots of naysayers don't know their bullshit from their arse.

LMAO! I didn't find it. When the OP that I replied to eagerly interjected into this unrelated discussion that there was an event TONIGHT at PP, it didn't take Sherlock Holmes to deduce there would be something about it in the Concert section. wink

What a pathetic spectacle, naysayers creaming their panties over some hacker.

The only people that care are this small group of people who feel traumatized they stopped getting their Prince just the way they like it but had the bad idea to stick around, as if their constitutional rights had been denied.

There are more grown up reactions to not getting what you want. Hacking an account isn't one of them.

Creaming your panties about it either.

.

y'know how i like my prince? ON TOUR...

.

you're very far off if you think that i'm loving this latest round of prince news, which is once again completely devoid of anything i care about

.

.

well, that's not totally true. I'm following this in the hopes that something might change. But of course it won't. Whatever, i'm off the prince boat.

Kinda pathetic really. If you're going to "hack" a celeb's social media fan page at least be funny, this was just childish.

Kind of interesting to note that at the Paisley Park show tonight they did play over the P.A. "Clouds Remix" and "Revelation" as one of the FB post rantings stated.

Interesting how the news of the party was first shared by PurpleEssence, who knows if he DID get replaced...would explain quite a bit of the drama this weekend!

Hmm. It seems the OP was talking about the graphic designer being replaced as the flyer actually was relevant to what was going on unlike previous flyers, perhaps hinting that the person who designed the flyers was replaced. Hmm. So we find out who designed the flyers, then we find out who the hacker was? Hmm. Lord, this thing has taken stupid to a whole another level. We should all be ashamed. neutral

This is a mess!!! disbelief Prince should sue! The sad part is the hacker actually told no lies. Prince is and has always been a royal butthole. Me thinks this is some young thang he dabbled with and they are just bitter now. You never give out your personal sensitive info to jump offs or "friends." Hell, I wouldn't even give that out to close associates.Lovers, friends and business never mix....

Sheila E's FB page (to use a Princely related example) kicks ass. She engages with her fans, keeps us up to date on her current projects and endeavors, makes many uplifting, inspirational, philosophical commentary and shamelessly roots for her favorite sports teams. I truly enjoy seeing her statuses on my newsfeed.

.

Oh please. It's plenty of ordinary promo, a lot of it self-congratulatory, mixed with some bland "look at me I'm religious" posts. It's distinctly amateurish, which has its charm, but that also makes it look rather unprofessional.

.

Note that Hannah's FB is even worse than Sheila's, unless you enjoy a 50/50 mix of religious BS and self-congratulatory promo, sometimes combined ("praise the Lord I'm on the cover of Drum magazine!")

.

Shelby's or Liv's is also pretty bad: posts often look like they're authored by a 12 year old, with text in all caps and tons of exclamation marks.

.

Wanna see an artist who truly uses social media to communicate with her fans? Look up Amanda Palmer.

he did, at one point, though, didn't he? with the lotusflower website. he got people in to design
the website and run it.

.

No he didn't. Those guys were designers IIRC and hadn't done anything other than a couple of bland promo sites. Hence the result: a hideous mess, a baffling look & feel, a technical nightmare ("hey let's run everything through the same crappy PHP script"). The entire site basically consisted of some crappy UI thing they bought (that hideous and unworkable sphere), coupled with some other half-assed scripting.

.

but at the time that site also went without updates or changes or anything for a long time, just

because he fell out with and didn't pay the people running it.

.

Prince abandoned it mere days or weeks after the launch when it became clear he wouldn't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. The disgrace is that those designers kept up the facade for more than a year and even had some people's subscriptions renewing. And then they closed it. And then they talked about it in an article and it became clear that what I'd been saying for 11 months was true: it was a huge failure and those guys used it to boost their own profile. (I vaguely remember something about at art sale and/or an art gallery.)

.

It's a shame this shit isn't documented better.

.

Gotta love that whenever HouseQuake.com posts something slightly critical of Prince (like the Morris Day interview recently) there's still people responding like Prince has never done anything wrong, never screwed people.

I'm a fan of Shelia E's and I enjoy what she does with her FB page. That's my perogative, just as not caring for it is yours. I have no idea Amanda Palmer is, so why would I care about how she interacts with her fans? Anything more than a one comment pointless Q&A and random gibberish riddles, is success now-a-days anyway. lol
