This tiny clips proves that Prince still hasn't moved on from the middle of the road mid 90's. Maybe that's why 3EG is yet to be released Keenmeister

This song is more proof that Josh is not doing his job. I referenced El Debarge's name earlier because he had co-writers abd co-producers on his last album. Josh types. And when you listen to the tracks they are classic El, but with contemporary beats and production values. Most of that record is as good or better than anything he has ever done in his career. I never blame Prince too much when his songs are whacky. Prince gives what he gives. I always look at who else was participating in the writing process, because it's their job to contribute what Prince doesn't have already or do what Prince can't do or doesn't know that he needs. All these females swooning over his voice, Prince did his job. Now what the hell is wrong with the rest of his team? "This Could Be Us" has the same lyrical and vocal problems that "Thunder" and "Scarlet Pussy" have. Similar failings are on the "" album. "There Will Never Be Another Like Me", that Sheila E song on the Krush Groove soundtrack, that JB sounding song he ended up leaving off of 20TEN, but released in full on the web. Prince can do cringe-worthy by himself! What good is a co-writer or co-prodcer that can't help him when he isn't at his best?

You will never get this album. This album (whatever it's called) will never be released. Not now not ever. Me thinks he sent it to Warners and they said a huge NO. He then decided to show a few others (john etc) because obviously WB must be up to their old tricks and stopping his albums from coming out. Problem is he got a luke warm response from John too. So having no validation he has dropped it to get some from the fans. Again, epic fail! No validation there either. Even fans think its rubbish. You excluded of course. Well I haven't heard the album, seeing as how it isn't out. I don't know if its rubbish or not. Don't peg me for a 'P's shit smells like heaven' fan. I have no problem determining what i like and don't like...by no means is it everything...far from it. I don't throw the good out with the rubbish by default either tho. I also recognize one mans treasure is another's trash, and try not to determine what someone else has to hate, like, or love. U can do that I suppose, but its largely a waste of your time. Have fun. If ure so good at it tho...u should start a record label and make u some cheddar...such the expert u r. Fan forum record execs....gotta love 'em [b][Edited 6/27/14 5:07am]

. . Is this track co-produced with Josh? I highly doubt he's been involved in everything. at the end of the day though Prince will do what he wants regardless of what anyone he is working with says. Probabaly why Josh is around, him being young (22 i think) he wont want to dirty the water telling Prince he is wrong of his ideas aint great too often. We all know how easily he can and will cut people off. . . Plus dont forget, this isnt the full track, It sounds like an Outro.

[Edited 6/27/14 5:02am] yes I agree, its much better than the 3EG songs. With the 3EG songs it was one dissapointment after another with the exception of FunkNroll which now seems to end up on the new solo album anyway. To be honest I wasn't that keen on The unexpected either so I hope Prince's version is better. This will be us sounds very promising, that means we might get a pretty decent album this time Welcome 2 The Dawn

Just cuz he can use pancake and appear to not have aged much...he has....EVERYONE else has AS WELL. A revolution reunion would be the tiredest thing ever. They're all close to collecting special j security and there would be a painfully obvious lack of energy on stage. America and anotherloverholenyohead, etc, would be so lifeless... BTW...its actually a WAV. [Edited 6/27/14 6:09am]

There is a disease I call "Bart Van Halen" disease. It causes you to either hate or not really embrace any Prince song after 1990 or so NO MATTER WHAT. If you suffer from this disease, Prince could release the strongest album in ages, but people with this disease simply CANNOT GET INTO NEW MUSIC. You have the U2 fans like this, you have the Bon Jovi fans, the Rush fans, just pick a popular artist. There are tons of fans complaining that their favorite no longer has it.
So many suffer from "So and so is not as good as they used to be."
Well the truth? Some of this is true. Most older artists can't possibly recapture their past glory
But most good to great artists continue to make quality material, but a lot of older fans lose their ability to like new music by older artists and get "Bart Van Halen" disease.
Paul McCartney is a good example. He just made a very nice solo album with 4 really strong tracks, and another 5 or 6 that are very decent, and a few filler snoozers. But there are some older Beatle fans who hate every single track due to this disease.
Take the radio stations that even play music by older artists...they usually pick 3 or 4 hits by the artists on their playlists and play them over and over and over again, conditioning people over the age of 35 that their artists from their youth only had 4 songs. And they might play a new single for a week or two , but tactics like this empower the thought that older artists are incapable of making good music.
If you can't listen to the Lotus Flow3r disc and love at least 3 songs, then you have this disease. You will hate new Prince songs no matter what, and I feel really sorry for you.
