I couldn't decide which forum would be more appropriate for this topic considering it pertains to both Fdeluxe (The Family) and Prince, so apologies to the moderators if you have to move this to AA.

Fdeluxe posted awhile ago on their Facebook:

"Just got back from Paisley, definitely a cool thing to have done. Glad we made the effort. Also caught up with the fellas from The Original 7even (aka The Original Time Band) ... make sure you head out and see Jellybean and co at The State Theater tonight. Should be funky!"

Blows my mind to think that out at Paisley Park tonight was that group of people all together! What I would have given to been a fly on that wall!

I know it's probably just dreaming on my part, but I can't help but wish there'd be a last minute party announced for tomorrow night out at Paisley: Fdeluxe, O7 and Prince and the band.

Most importantly though, I'm happy to hear everyone spent some time together and, based on Fdeluxe's FB post, that it was a positive experience.

he also visited w&l the other day in their treehouse(isnt that sad they live in a tree?). maybe something big is in the works? i hope it isnt a last minute paisley park thing though, i dont want to max out my credit cards to get out there

well, last time was 2008? or so. i didn't hear about it until after the event ...

Last time was October of 2009. We had a few days' notice.

I remember because Sweetie and I had just been in Minneapolis earlier that week (we saw Meshell Ndegeocello at the Dakota). We got home on Wednesday or Thursday, and found out Prince was playing that Saturday night at Paisley Park. So I drove back up.

How embarrassing it must have been for Fdeluxe and the Original 7ven to come to Paisley Park

and get a good look at what Prince has really become.

I bet Shelby,Andy,Liv,Elisa,Larry,Tina etc... were all sitting in a circle in the Love4OneAnother

room praying to Jehova,singing Kumbaya,sipping carrot juice and erasing all cuss words out of

classic Prince albums.

Seriously,I hope something cool comes from this meeting but I have been conditioned to expect the absolute worst.

Well...lotusflow3r.com was active then, so there was a presale. But the show wasn't sold out, so tickets were still available at the door.

^^ I think they did met him. Because I heard also from band members about a meeting or something at PP yesterday.

Agreed. But even Prince has to realize how bad he looks after greedily humiliating Morris Day and forcing him to rename The Time to earn a living.

The source material being taken straight from the source... Prince's behaviour of late.

He had his big money attorneys go after these people whom are just trying to make a meager living doing what they do,making music.He got his wish and these folks weren't allowed to use the name(s) that fans recognise them by.

Now he wants to play nice and have a pow -wow?

He has turned into a passive /aggressive fuddy- duddy.

He can keep his ball and play with his new friends because the mystique has long since worn off and folks are starting to see right through this guy.Like Jellybean said,Prince is a "chronic litigator" and I would be very weary of doing any buisness with him now.

In my opinion there is more good stuff on the new albums by Original 7ven and Fdeluxe than Prince has released in a helluva long time.

The fact that fDeluxe, The Time, W&L etc stuff go up and see the guy says to me that business is business I guess. If Prince was as big an asshole as he sometimes comes across as, I can't see how anyone would come back for another beat down. I don't know, I'm not one to suck up to Prince for the hell of it, but if they're still on communication terms after all the band name stuff, that says that maybe there is a little more to it all than just "No it's mine, you CAN'T. HAVE. IT!"

I've been saying this forever, but as always its just easier to blame Prince. To this day we do not know what his reasonings were, we have just been getting one side of the story. So oh well. Glad to hear this.
