This is the next installment in a series of polls ranking the songs on each album officially released by Prince or O+>. My goal is to determine which tracks should be included in a final poll to determine the overall top 25 Prince songs in the opinion of his fans.

For those of you who haven’t been following my polls, these are different than the usual “best song” threads in that they combine the preferences of all the voters into an overall list.

I am going through these in the same order that they were ranked in my earlier poll of the best Prince albums. Next up is Lovesexy, ranked #8 in that poll.

We’ve seen a lot of discussion of Lovesexy in this forum recently. Whether you love the album or hate it, you’re sure to have an opinion on these nine songs. So please vote!

Please don’t discuss the preliminary results or campaign for your favorite song(s) until the poll is closed. I plan to close the poll on June 20, but I may close it early if the preliminary results are discussed on this site. This is to make sure the poll is as accurate as possible.

Surprised to see the title track--one of my all-time favorites--ranked at #5, but the songs that beat it are good too.

He should have released the title track as a single instead of "Glam Slam." I bought a tracked version of the CD just so I could skip ahead to the title track.

Exactly!! "Glam Slam" is a good album track but it didn't stand a chance as a single.He should have released the powerful,danceable title track as the second single.With an excellent video,that song would have been a smash.

Disappointed to see When 2 R In Love ranked 4th.

Yes. The current European pressings are tracked, or at least some of them.

I think "Lovesexy" the song may be less popular than it deserves for two reasons: it wasn't a single, and original pressings weren't tracked, so if you have an original (or US) CD pressing you have to listen through the whole first side plus "Dance On" to hear it. Also, I don't think there's enough bass on either the CD pressings or the vinyl.

Predictable as hell. I've noticed in a lot of poll threads that a big slice of Prince fans really do just like the big hitters.
