Impressive - sounds like a different show in a way due to its clarity and lack of audience SFX, however have a question:

All Day, All Night sounds different to other versions I have heard that are supposedly from this Birthday show, is it just they had the overdubs or did he perform this twice, ie at an aftershow too?!

the version that's been floating around since the old chocolate box bootleg is what you are talking about. it's basically this live version, edited and overdubbed with extra vocals etc. so it sounds more of an instrumental jam on the original live version, but the instrumental parts have extra lines on the overdubbed version

if you listen carefully to the start of the version your refer to, you can hear the same spoken parts before the song

Can I just ask from anyone who may have the info to hand how this was obtained? The reason being, SO many times boots are classed as 'Soundboard' when they're nothing but rips from video footage, which is far from the same thing.

If this is true soundboard, I'm going to be all ova it. If it's a simple low-generation video rip, I'll pass.

The booklet describes the source - see the very first post in the thread.

BTW, this release is absolutely pristine, crystal clear, and vibrant. I haven't heard a soundboard like this in years. Maybe the Sendai/Nagoya releases, but I would say this is better than that and on parw ith Small Club (if not better than that, even).

Brownmark's bass playing is on fire. I used to sleep on his playing a bit, but he really turns it out in this performance.

I was thinking that earlier, that this is on a par (sound quality wise) with Small Club soundboard, if not slightly better.

I couldn't agree more. Honestly though, the entire band sounds amazing. The version of Irresistible Bitch here is perfect.

It's crazy all these years most of us, if not all had a crappy copy of this show confused

And BAM! were hit with a soundboard lol Never expected this one

Now i might be able to make out some of the lyrics on "my destiny" lol

Goes to show you that's there's probably more out there, just gathering dust in people's collections. Let's hope this source has more recordings that will be made available, and even if this is it, I'll still be a happy Prince fan. Thanks again.

Wow just think, we were just talking about this days ago. I brought this up days ago and look what happen?! All I can say is wow. This is a great show! This is hands-down the "purple leak" of the year 4 2011. It's safe 2 say goodbye 2 the 4-song sample from the previous release of this show. Game... Blouses!

The guitar intro to Erotic City, played loud, at these crystal clear levels....

And then it kicks in. O.O
