What a sad outcome to a positive thread about great music.

Let's change it up.

Anyone with the least amount of guilt or remorse about having and enjoying the free Birthday Show release could always donate to a charity close to Prince's heart, or one of their choosing.

Wouldn't that be better than purchasing a boot?

It's Prince's Birthday tomorrow. Pay it forward. I have and will.

Don't know if I missed this somewhere in these18 or so pages, but is it time we finally start working out the lyrics to "Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden"? This is the first time they've really been even remotely decipherable, ha ha.

This is what I've come up with so far for "Our Destiny":

Won't you come to town, I'd love to show you around
Take what ??????? is known to play

Our love, it's written in the sky above

Our destiny is to fall in love
Don't fight it cause its stronger than us

Our destiny is to fall in love

L-O-V-E

When I saw you walk, I had to talk to you.
Didn't know what to say, I wanted your love anyway

Our love, it's written in the sky above

Our destiny is to fall in love
Don't fight it cause its stronger than us

Our destiny is to fall in love

L-O-V-E

Look, I'm not sayin' get married or nothin', I ain't ready to settle down baby...

I don't wanna have no kids...
All I'm tryin' to say to you is that, uh...

You gotta be the finest specimen of a woman I've ever seen!

Our destiny is to fall in love

L-O-V-E, yeah

L-O-V-E, yeah

L-O-V-E

Oh, it's so fun, let's kiss...not just yet.
We ???????? treat me like this.
My pleasure's in you(?), let's find a room

Do you want me baby? (I want you, I want you)
I want you too, baby (I want you, I want you)

Any help/corrections would be appreciated!

This is the best I can come up with. Just a little bit left to do on it biggrin :

Our Destiny

Once U came 2 town My life turned all around
Ten quarters deep ______________ there's no one to play

Our love, it's written in the sky above
Our destiny is to fall in love
Don't fight it cause its stronger than us
Our destiny is to fall in love
L-O-V-E

When I saw you walk, I had to talk to you.
Didn't know what to say, I wanted your love anyway

Our love, it's written in the sky above
Our destiny is to fall in love
Don't fight it cause its stronger than us
Our destiny is to fall in love
L-O-V-E

Look, I'm not sayin' get married or nothin', I ain't ready to settle down, baby...
I don't wanna have no kids...
All I'm tryin' to say to you is that, uh...
You gotta be the finest specimen of woman I have ever seen!

Our destiny is to fall in love
L-O-V-E, yeah
L-O-V-E, yeah
L-O-V-E

Oh, so can I kiss?...Not just yet.
Me, I would never treat me like this.
Now our pleasure’s in bloom, let's find a room
Do you want me baby? (I want you, I want you)
I want you too, baby (I want you, I want you)

Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see
I can be in a park, or flying in the…in the deep sea
I wish u’d hold my hand; then everything could b
There’s nothing strange, we’re not deranged
We only want everyday 2 b a Cosmic Day

What is required is for you to compare it to the previous releases of this show. This one is miles ahead.

As for sounding "perfect", well, it was done live and wasn't processed in the studio. Wendy and Lisa stomped on Roadhouse Garden, which is purported to be this track and the next one put together...once they put their input on it I'm sure it would have sounded like something much more polished.

but, until that gets released, if ever, this is the best it's going to get...and on that standard, it is damn good indeed!

My copy sounds great, even at 256kbps mp3 for the iPod...

Did you listen to the whole show, or just the beginning?

If you haven't heard it all yet, skip ahead to Erotic City... and turn it UP!

As I said I think it has to do with the converstion to mp3, maybe this one needs to go straight on a CD. Sound quality isn't bad, but it isn't loud enough. It's like being in a concert and standing thousands of miles away. Why do the recent L.A. soundboards sound better than this? The converstion worked perfectly, or maybe somebody wanna org me, wink

Prince I will always miss and love U.

I just hope that Anonymous, 4DF, FBG and all other people who release and/or improve outtakes and live recordings realise that the majority of people really appreciate and love what they give to and share with the p community. just to name two examples of the many possible ones, Box of chocolates and this 1984 soundboard are the very best things that got released the last years, including what prince released himself. And there are so much more, compare the catalog of 4DF and FBG to what Eye and Sabotage put out the last years.

It is very annoying that labels like Eye rip off the free labels. When was the last time they came with something new and exciting? That there are people who defend them baffles me. But to each his own. What's important: they're the minority.

What you don't seem to understand is that you would have close to nothing if it wasn't for those labels. A few outtakes maybe, but not even close to what you have now. Some great shows, sure. But no Small Club, no City Lights, not much.

lol We're being punked. Not loud enough? Better wait for that other release, then.

Everything you mentioned came out pre-internet. The game has changed. What have pressed labels come up with in the last decade that didn't come from fans or wasn't a rehash of previously circulating material?
