To finalize my opinion, I feel that Prince hasn't lost a thing. He's a true artist because he expands his creative work and tries new things. Some may like the transitions, others may not. TRUE fans, whether they had different preferances on the "style/era" of Prince that they enjoy, should still understand the fact that he's a musical genious and is just trying to keep things fresh and different. Of course he has an individual sound but it would be quite mundane if he never changed things up a bit. I mean, there have got to be people out there that enjoy his newer material just like there were fans that loved his classics. Prince is Prince, a musical genious and true artist. He is far from losing anything.

And together we'll stare into silence.

disbelief yeah, that ultra-commercial move didn't make sense at all... Was he fuckin' desperate or what?? Clive Davis? Gwen Stacy? Sheryl Crow? man oh man... neutral I'm surprised the aobum didn't include a duet with Mariah Carey or something... dead

When was the moment you realized that prince had lost it?

when he started to believe his own hype and attacked the fanbase....the cease and desist letters...the shutting down of the housequake website....p.f.u.n.k....the lotusflower disaster....

see, somebody needed to remind prince that the fanbase doesn't exist to serve HIM. guess he didn't get the memo.

"There'll never b another like me"? THANK GOD FOR SMALL FAVORS!

now....he's just atrophying into irrelevance.

Hmm ...

Housequake decided to close their doors and now MoQuake is up and running by the same people mind you, just the named changed, it's the same content.

The cease and desist letters: I do not believe Prince one day woke up and was like 'Yeah, let me contact my attorney and close all these sites with my likeness and music and they didn't ask me'. It's not cut and dry like that and I understand it is more drawn out than me just saying so.

I have never had a problem with Prince from day one til right now. The music is about the same and the lyrical content changed, there is a more 'religious' tone, yes but, he's still the same cat just dresses to the 9's a lot more son now, then he did, say Dirty Mind Era. I have nothing bad to say about the guy. I think he may be a tortured musical genius to a huge extent and may be out of the loop of 'our' reality but he still puts his pants on one leg at a time like us all.

Prince 'lost it' ???

I don't think so ... I think P pulled a Cat Stevens except he's a JW a Cat (Abdul Islaam) is a Sunni Muslim.
