Wow, unlucky, I got my copy with the Mirror in England, which every saturday has a tv mag, so cd well protected. Good album, I resisted the urge to download and I have a spare copy I'm ending to a friend in the USA, seems a shame they have to wait.

Well...

That one dude posted about getting a copy early from a news vendor. He even posted his picture with the disc and box art. Then about an hour later he probably uploaded the album to Rapidshare. Then we received links to download a copy of the album. But I must stress that this isn't the album. The album has cover art and the official disc.

How's that?

I am "that one dude" who got my cd early. But i never uploaded the album to any website whatsoever.

I had a ton of requests to do so. I only had one copy and i was too busy playing it and trying to describe it to you guys, within half an hour of my post, several other people on the org were downloading it from god knows where anyway.

I have spoken with 3 seperate newsagents this morning regarding the free cd. All 3 mentioned that there has been no where near the same demand for 20TEN as there was for Planet Earth..............interesting.

I knew it was kinda too good to be true. It sounds nice on "paper". lol and maybe folks who were initially excited after learning PE was gonna be sold to papers were all optimistic then they heard it and was possibly turned off, which could explain the not-so excited feel of this album's release.

That could be another big reason too. "Huh he did this already?"

It's funny the last two current news outlets discussing this "amazing thing" never at once mentioned that he had done this before.

Maybe because they gave Prince a cut that's why they're totally revising what went on three years prior. Or maybe they didn't do business with Prince when he put out "Planet Earth". What newspaper outlets he sell "Planet Earth" on? I know he sold it to some Scottish newspaper... and I think he sold it to a London newspaper but it wasn't the Mirror... I already forgot the name of it. But folks here claim it was a "right-wing" newspaper while the Mirror is more "left-wing" (I guess lol).

The Daily Mail and the Scottish Daily Mail are the newspapers which carried the Planet Earth cd.

There is not a lot of difference between the Scottish and English editions, they have different titles, some of the ads and stories (if you can call them that) are different, but they are both made by the same muppets.

Yeah I sensed they were similar anyway from the titles alone.

Darshy

Have just come back from my lunch break, had popped into 5 newsagents near my workplace & none of them had copies of the Mirror left - the only newspaper to be completed sold out! Thank god I decided to pick up a copy aound 10:30am on my way to work.

Btw, I guess the reason why the Daily Mirror and The Daily record are saying this is the first time etc, is because the press regards a saturday paper as a daily whereas PE came with the Mail on Sunday.

Basically you get a Prince album practically free, well very cheap anyhow. How can that be bad..I ditched the papers, recycled them I mean, well this is Twenty10 folks. I think its a very easy way to get hold of his albums, but more than that its cheap as chips. I think next Prince should give away gold bars with the Sun newspaper.

The internet aint dead its the best thing to happen since Buckaroo, man.

I re-cycled the papers too, because newspaper is a bitch to wipe your arse with.

Gold bars? I would prefer another album.

Buckaroo? C'mon, we all know the best game was Connect 4.

what's the point of buying 15 copies today though after you already had it? i got about 10+ copies of PE from the MOS and then about 20 million copies from the o2 shows and i think in 3 years i might have gave away one copy. everyone i know has at least 34 copies of it. right now i have a small pile of copies and i'll get more tomorrow, and expect about 17 people at work to give me a copy and ask if i knew about it, even though i spent more of last week with people asking me about it and me showing them i had it on my iphone already. i've got multiple copies of most prince albums, for no real reason as i normally use cdr backup copies when i dj at prince nites so i don't scratch them (in a non dj type way of scratching). i don't have a fleabay account and can't be arsed sending anything in the post. one day i'll be an old dude with piles of fucking prince cds lying around the living room instead of piles of newspapers
