20TEN - My Review

Wow, just Wow. Prince lays it down, picks it up and throws it against the wall; and guess what......its Sticky Like Glue!

From start to finish, the lyrics, music, arrangements and composition are a well executed, fully in tact, smooth symphony of goodness.

Compassion is catchy. The vocals are perfect with screamin guitar interludes and all. Prince is bringing pure funk to your door with this tune.

Beginning Endlessly. Its sexy. 'Gonna have to invent a new dance move for this song. Oooooh, ooooh. Nice.

Future Soul Song. This, this, this song is beyond compare. It's like receiving your wings in heaven; brings tears of joy. I've never heard anything like the melodies and harmonies of these vocals. Thank you Prince for putting to words and music the future soul song.

Sticky Like Glue. Funk to the nth power. Love the rap, love the guitar work. Is this a spanking, Prince style?

Act of God. Powerfull message wrapped in guitar licks and tied-up with a thump. By far the best gospel song I've ever heard. Call it what you wanna 'cept an Act of God.

Lavaux. Makes me feel like I got a plane to catch. Love it. Take me to the Vinyards of Lavaux!

Walk In Sand. Sweet and fresh . The musical arrangement is superb the piano underscores the tune like a huge hammock tied between two trees on a secluded sandy beach.

Sea of Everything. Deffinately one of Prince's most sensual and mature ballads. Total classic. The vocals are impeccable. The slow dance melody is dangerous. Prince sounds more than delicious on this tune. Ummnnnn.

Everybody Loves Me. This is a fun, funnnnnnnky gift. Wake up, get up, whoopdiwhoop. Is that a kazoo?

Laydown. Hot to the maximum extent. This cut ain't taking no prisoners. This is some Scarface funk.

i'm just saying, thank you again, Prince.

ooops: title mispell

Obviously your and my music tastes are COMPLETELY different. When I listen to it I hear very bland and unintersting music. This album has absolutely no edge whatsoever to me. It sounds like he is "trying" to recreate his past and just can't do it. It has the same sounds as some of the early career stuff but just doesnt hit like it. Laydown is the only good track to me. The rest is bland mediocre at best. I hate that Prince's music doesn't strike me like it used to. Lotusflower was ok to me but this is a big step backwards. I never thought I would EVER like New Power Soul better than another one of his albums but I do now. sad Its a sad day for me in the Prince world. Im glad you like though. Thats what is great about music. What is garbage to one is a gem to another. Thats what music is about. Sorry Prince - I dont like this one. Looking forward to the next release already!! In the meantime I will continue to discover other new releases.

Sorry you don't like it. And I thank you for the polite response.

When I listen to music I listen in isolation, where its just the music, the rythm and me. I don't necessarily compare it to other songs, I savor the flavor for that moment. And this album moves me.

I listened to a portion--not all--of your podcast (thanks 4 the link) and it was good; funny to hear some of the "voices" of posters on this board.

The more I listen to 20Ten the more I love it. I think Prince did a fantastic job with this album.

how funny, Laydown is the only throwaway track in my opinion, with Prince just miming someone else's style. It's beautifully crafted, but beneath him conceptually speaking. In my opinion.

They are good people, and I love that they're my friends, and I theirs. They contribute so much to the show, and make it rich and entertaining.

Thanks for listening.
