People are expecting BET to do a Prince tribute justice? Did you see what they did to MJ last year?

Well, that was a last-minute plan....

No excuse.

If BET does this right they will get The Time and Sheila E to be a part. A Shelia E led Revolution like at the Family Jam would be hot. I can see Maxwell, Robert Randolph and why not Janet Jackson. I know his performance will bring the house down.

That would be fantastic but I've seen the list of shceduled performers and unless they're keeping the ones actually doing the tribute to Prince...a secret...I would so not get my hopes up...if I were you. hug

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

EXACTLY!!! And to have his family there, like they were really just going to TURN IT OUT... for them as much as for Michael...when they could have been elsewhere dealing with their grief...was the utmost in utter contemptible disgracefulness!!!

Like I said...finger BET!!!!

It's not like they had to be there.

Jermaine's greasy head ass was just looking for a camera.

Again, when BET has thetime to put together a good show, with good tributes.

Like the ones they did for Chaka Khan and James Brown. They do a great job.

For anyone to deny that isn't being truthful.

Well, that was a last-minute plan....They certainly could have done better, but that tribute show was not supposed to happen at all. neutral

Exactly....they should've just left the show the way it was originally because the 85% of the show was just full choas and bullcrap. Everything from Jamie Foxx's disrespectful and unruly opening and ridiculous outfit changes to the profanity that was used...it was just wrong on all levels.

Yes, that was very disappointing. Ciara was the only one I can remember who did a nice performance. One would think all these professionals would know how to create a beautiful show for MJ, even in 3 days, but oh no, too difficult for BET. Like I implied though, it wouldn't have happened at all if the tragedy hadn't occurred, so last year's show can't be compared to the planned tribute segment this year.

The Lifetime Achievement part of the ceremony is the only thing they get right and it's really the honorees we have to give gratitude to. Chaka, James, Whitney, EWF, Al Green, The O'Jays and Gladys all nailed their performances and trumped every other performance of the ceremony.

And while I wont comment on the penis length, that guy is plainly lacking any knowledge of history as BET was hardly what it is today in 1984 - it was not even on the majority of the cable systems in the US at that time. MTV was brand new but the revolution in the music business - anyone doing music needed to be invovled with them at that time

Who did they give the award to in 2007 and 2008? Were those good productions?

In 2007 it was Chaka and in 2008, it was Al! Both tributes were well done and who can forget Maxwell's surprise appearance during Al Green's tribute? That was just excellent...biggrin

Chaka was in 2007? confuse Darn, I thought that was '06. lol I actually saw that one. But yeah, the pattern so far is that planned tributes are done well, so, I don't think this one for Prince will be bad. I don't know. shrug

Jermaine's bitch ass would have showed up for a chicken plucking at Popeye's, if it would have got him some camera time! giggle

I think the rest of the family propelled her to go up there since Jermaine and Joe's ass were acting a damn fool and absorbing the silliness and foolishness of the entire show. Janet seemed pissed and dismayed when she went up there and I could tell.

And that is well known to be a lie. The truth is Prince is Black, and if you read the Ebony issue he's in, he himself says that "we come in all colors" referring to himself and Black people.

I am talking about the way Joe and Jermaine reacted to the whole situation. Of course she was mourning the passing of her brother, but I think deep down inside she was embaressed and disgusted at how a couple family members could almost throw away the fact that someone close to them had passed away and they could show their faces and act in a careless matter about Michael's death. Hell, Joe went on the red carpet that night talking about his future business endeavors and how he didn't want to discuss the passing of Michael as he believed it was irrelevant at the time because of this mess of an awards ceremony.
