Some of you hate the interview before you've read it, you hate most everything post 80's, you hate all his recent Internet releases, @ this point coming on here to bitch is just lame on ur parts. It would make more sense for u to be here if you like some of his recent output but otherwise ur wasting ur time sad Oh that's right... your life wouldn't be complete w/o sharing ur misery w/ others. Dammit!

As for the song.. it's a pop song, light hearted & fun.... that's it. No deeper than Raspberry Beret. If he made something deep you would say why won't he do something fun. Whatever he does you want the opposite. He IS NOT going to make music u like anymore... I love that song it's beautiful and' honor ' but i show feeling in a different way.

And you can help put cry because he put something in there about you. (i guess)

So i would never 'disrespect'' song is Summer Song it's fun and i love it.

Why i said pop because it sounded to me no disrespect.

Now Prince has been playing some" pop music ' awhile back thats what i was referring to.

I love you all but you all can be pills at times.

tricklogy you are real pill that sound good

Ok the lyrics are very simple and not that good but its a nice pop song and not bad at all. Very catchy and easy goin. I realy enjoy it and was listen 2 it around 30 times 2day. Thats more spin than I gave any song on that crapy musicology album when it came out and I first heard it.

Please tell me you are being sarcastic. 30 times? Even if you respond you are not being sarcastic, Im going to take that as a hint that you are being sarcastic. Jesus H Christ, it makes me wonder if Prince does this just for shits and giggles

Prince calls Wendy N Lisa)

Prince: Did you listen to that track?

Wendy: Yea, It was.... okay

Prince: My listeners going to groove to it

Wendy: Alright..

Prince: Im going to make this the lead single off my summer project

Wendy: That's a... interesting choice

Prince: I can't wait to play this for Jimmy Jam on the monitors, I think I got a hit

Wendy: Fingers crossed

Prince: Man, the guitars are so electric and those lyrics? One of the best I've ever wrote

Wendy: Yea...it says alot about summer

Prince: I can't wait to play this for Kevin Smith. Ol Potty mouth going to praise me!

Lisa: Can't wait to hear his reaction

Prince:SIKE!

Wendy: Excuse me?

Prince: Damn you know this song is weak. I made this song just to test my new monitors. Already got some suckers on the hook, saying this is a great summer track.

Wendy: I was going to say, why on earth is he playing this for us?

Lisa: It sounds like you made the lyrics while you were shopping

Prince: Actually I was! I just got a new dress shirt and a bicycle, going to ride it around town.

Lisa:That's great, Did you get Streamers on the handle bars?

Phone silence.....

Prince: You know, this is why there won't be a revolution reunion. Dykes just love to show they got balls.

I think this song sucks... The lyrics are so bad, and the beats and hook don't go anywhere. I could write this song... "it's a hot, hot summer". I'm a genius! It all seems very awkward... and get rid of that female singer... it's almost as bad as "Chelsea Rogers." Prince is 0 for 3 in 2010.

Don't be too quick to draw any conclusions from these freebie tracks. The NPGMC tracks that were released before TRC were entirely different from what the album turned out to be. I realize not everyone on this site is crazy about TRC, but for many that was a very pleasant surprise back then. What he'd posted on the internet prior to that were absolutely of no indication of what was going to come next.

Those who do music themselves also know that you're not always going to pull off your best. Yet, in some cases it's just fun to let people hear that material anyway. The internet in particular is the perfect medium for that.

Let's also not refer to these songs as "singles". That's not what they are.

...and maybe Prince just liked this song, maybe he had fun writing and recording it, maybe it was effortless, maybe he had a big smile on his face once it was done.

I know this will not redeem the song for those who think it is the biggest steaming pile of doodoo he has ever recorded but I don't think Prince really does this to piss you off. He does it cos it makes him happy.

I think I now have this song fully committed to memory after

having listened to it so many times. Which shows how much I'm

enjoying it whistle

I will just say this: For those who can hear a simple, light, fun,

free-spirited, sunny gift of a song, and can't even allow themselves

for a moment to experience an iota of pleasantness, that is very telling

and revealing more so of one's own psychological and emotional well-being

than it is of Prince's incompetency, as some have even dared to have the audacity

to suggest. Insults have not deterred Prince yet, and they never will..never!

For every 10 spiteful knockdowns, he has got 500 strong supporters pulling

him up higher. So give it a rest; it's not working no no no!

Come on now, take some time to set your inner child free, and blow in the wind

while smelling the breeze flower nutty Go be a true friend to somebody, as

this particular section of the song suggests:

"Everybody has got a favorite friend, favorite friend

they got your back no matter what to the end

ain't got no place but got a whole lot of bend

every broken heart can mend

you better believe it

why is life always a mystery, mystery

Here's a new ditty I just composed. The muse hit me. It's called Freezing Winter. I was going to call it Coldest Winter but Kanye already used that. Anyways, here's the fantastic seasonal followup.

Ohh Burr Freezing Winter

The snow is falling today

In minnesota it's the coldest day

Making music is so much fun

Hey World I think this is the one

Burr Freezing Winter

Rick Ross thinks he's the boss

But the biggest boss is Jack Frost

He's icing the lakes so you can skate

Get your girl and don't be late

Burr Freezing Winter

Burr Freezing Winter

Getting caught in a Blizzard

That's a snowstorm if you arent Mr Wizard

Making Angels in the Snow

Propose to your lady and give it a go

She might say yes, you never know

Burr Freezing Winter

Burrr Freezing Winter

Oh my god, the muse is with me today. Hey Current, don't sleep. I will be sending finalized version immediately.

My inner child got lost after giving my first blow-job. No, seriously... I don't mind people doodlin around with music, and they could have gotten mighty stoned on the fun they had making this, but it doesn't make the song any better. Next to that, if I put on music I put on stuff that i like, good songs, and not the music they had so much fun making. In 1992 (or 91?) he sent Gett off to radio stations. Now we get Hot Summer - feel the difference?

Oh sweet Jesus, the muse has hit me for a third time! This one is called Cool Spring

Theres a feeling everywhere

Winter's gone and something else is there

Spring is coming and I dare

For Current to play this jam on the air

Ohhh Cooooool Spring

Ohhh Cooooool Spring

Spring is a time for new starts

A time to heal broken hearts

Hey wait, is that a dove?

I think we're in love

Oooh Cool Spring

Cool Spring

Spring brings new life to give us pause

A chance to give up the drawers

Dont matter we just having fun

On second thought, I think this is the one

Ohhh Cool Spring

Cool Spring

Notice the genius that I display by putting the symbolic recurring theme of the DOVE back in spring. He wasn't anywhere to be found in "Freezing Winter" song. The Dove has returned because it's spring! Jehovah, I am getting goosebumps. I can't wait for Jim to hear this. This is a-maz-ing. 3 songs in one day, it's like I birthed block head shaped children. Jim, what you need to do is when you play Hot Summer again, tease the following that will have a Crunchy Autumn soon. This is going to be one CRUNCHY autumn and one Freezing Winter!

so I tried to give this some time. Better production might help it. Right about at 2:20 it started to pick up then just dropped back to the lackluster feel throughout. I also read that people thought this was Janelle Monaé singing with him? I don't hear it. If anything he should listen to her record with an eye towards how he used to bring it. Cause she does. Once again I find it tough to hear a guy who is one of my musical heroes not "get" what it is that he used to do in terms of writing, playing and the energy he brought to a track. I still say get rid of the "yes" men and get a producer who you let do their thing. And it is true, I don't have to listen, but I wanted top give it a fair shake...and I think I did. And it's just not worth any more spins.

Alright people, I said I wouldn't say anything about the song on his Birthday...today is a brand new day! giggle

The song is just plain FLACID! The lyrics, the singing, the instrumentation...all of it...FLACID!!!

Now y'all can just keep lying there and pretending that he's as good as he always was and you're satisified if you want to and all he's going to do, is keep sticking those limp ass noodles in your ears! disbelief

As for me, I've got my music and I'll be spending my hot summer with the Prince that knew how to get rock hard in a funky place! wink

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

(Phone Click)

Okay, I sort of have to bow down to that. That has to be one of the best comments EVER on the org! Great job!

Oh sweet Jesus, the muse has hit me for a third time! This one is called Cool Spring

Theres a feeling everywhere

Winter's gone and something else is there

Spring is coming and I dare

For Current to play this jam on the air

Ohhh Cooooool Spring

Ohhh Cooooool Spring

Spring is a time for new starts

A time to heal broken hearts

Hey wait, is that a dove?

I think we're in love

Oooh Cool Spring

Cool Spring

Spring brings new life to give us pause

A chance to give up the drawers

Dont matter we just having fun

On second thought, I think this is the one

Ohhh Cool Spring

Cool Spring

Notice the genius that I display by putting the symbolic recurring theme of the DOVE back in spring. He wasn't anywhere to be found in "Freezing Winter" song. The Dove has returned because it's spring! Jehovah, I am getting goosebumps. I can't wait for Jim to hear this. This is a-maz-ing. 3 songs in one day, it's like I birthed block head shaped children. Jim, what you need to do is when you play Hot Summer again, tease the following that will have a Crunchy Autumn soon. This is going to be one CRUNCHY autumn and one Freezing Winter!

U're too funny... lol but u can't beat urself on the wendy and lisa thing...

Combine the opening of Cinnamon Girl, the beat from Shake!, add some stupid, contrived lyrics (hug and a pound, lol), and a terrible female vocal, and you have this "song". I wish I had millions of dollars so I could sit around and make "music" like Prince. Some additional lyrics and losing the female vocal could save the song, but I don't think it's worth it. Prince's writing is pure crap.

This song reminds me of a combination of So Far, So Pleased and Cream..

It's a solid, fun pop song that really has a catchyness to it! I like it

Very well described! I totally agree that it sounds like both of those fused into a catchy tune. It had my foot tapping immediately and I guess that's all you need from a whimsical summer pop tune.

I don't get how so many people keep saying "to give it a few listens" or "it will grow on you" about Prince's last few releases. Why can't it just be acceptable to say they suck? I have never in all my 27 years of being a Prince fan ever hated a song, then listened to it a bunch of times and decided I really did like it. If I heard a song, and it did something to my brain that was enjoyable, then I instantly liked it. End of story.

Why give any song "a chance?" They're not people or dogs or something else that I don't like at first and need getting ued to. My ears cannot bare to listen to any words that come out of Ke$ha's mouth, for example. Should I give her songs a chance too and purposely listen to them 30 times a day....just to get used to them?

I adore Prince. Heck, there was a time in my teen years, when I was sure that I would marry him someday!!!! That delusion has long since passed. I no longer thing that he has the Midas touch. He's human and isn't perfect.

Personally, I think that he is allowing himself to be spiritually torn between his musical talent and his religion. I'm sure that he knows what the JW faith does not want him to do, yet he wants so desperately to be spiritually right that he is drastically watering down what comes from him musically. Really he can balance both worlds if he would let go of his vanity. Acknowledge that the pop stardom days are over for him, and make a switch to more mature music. He can still channel his God-given talent into masterpieces, but he is fighting his own creativity and trying to "fit in."

Frankly, I'm embarrassed for him lately. Such rubbish coming from one of the most musically creative minds in the modern world! All the glamour photo shoots, the hair, the makeup. When is he going to grow up? It is very unattractive for a person to act, behave and try to look much, much younger than they really are.
