I would make tea from Amy Winehouse's tampon before giving up my Box O Chocolates.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I would sit through a 24 hour Graffiti Bridge marathon whilst wearing Clockwork Orange style eye-openers before giving up my Box o' Chooclates.

It's almost like there is an "event horizon" for stupidity - once you fall below that line, you're too stupid to know you're stupid.

Haha... too funny. smile That Clockwork Orange scene is seared in to my brain whenever I am forced to watch something awful (like when my wife wanted to see "Maid in Manhattan" @ the ol' Cineplex). I am just waiting for Prince to come out with a new movie so I can return the favor.

I would eat a 25 year old can of "Creamed Possum" and wash it down with a room temperature Billy beer before giving up my Box o' Chocolate

Fair enough.

So since we're at it and since no one answered my question before, i still can't hear any difference between this version of Dorothy Parker & the SOTT version. Can someone help me with this???

I don't notice much of a difference either between the two versions. Maybe someone else can fill us in?

`

If you listen closely it's just a slightly different mix of the same recording used on the album.

I was actually reacquainted with Big Star because of that Replacements song. It's a sad day in music indeed.

In A Large room with No light
Heaven (with the intro intact)
Joy In Repetiton with the original intron
Neon Telephone

Pssessed and Purple Music ( I do have a couple of great sounding version from the Purple Fantasia tape that surfaced a couple of years ago but quite BOC quality)

Moonbeam Levels
Feel U Up
Irresistible Bitch

and more than anything else the full 11 minute version of The Dance Electric.
Joy In Repetition with the original intro is the best shit since sliced bread. cloud9

nod

it's amazing how a drum beat with an echo is all it takes to build up into such a fantastic song.

Color me neutral regarding whether Prince was behind BOC, but the suggestion was made that releasing free music like this doesn't make sense, for Prince could sell tracks online if he wished and make some kind of mini-fortune for doing so.

I have to wonder, though, if that is still the case. How many of you would actually pay money to a Prince-backed online project at this point, given the history of past projects?

I would have purchased this stuff if he still had a Musicology store to download from. I'd never subscribe to one of his websites again though, he really has burnt his bridges too many times for me to do that again.

It's simple, don't hint and promise stuff. No 'you'll recieve these 4 albums through the post' like NPGMC, where we ended up with One Nite Alone piano & live

Or we have 10 albums worth of unreleased material, like they said with Lotusflow3r...

Just put the damn stuff up where people can purchase it, and they will. Hinting at maybe putting it up and then charging people good money only to NOT give what was hinted at/promised is just stupid. This is his core fanbase. The one's who will buy any old shite when he can't be bothered anymore. If he loses us, all he has to look forward to is vegas concerts singing Purple Rain till the day he dies.

He should either put it up on itunes, or set up a download store again and charge for it. If it makes money, put more up, if it doesn't, dont... That way it's in our interests to purchase it when it's there rather than get it illegally. If it was available to buy legally, the bootleggers would be out of business and all the cash would go to Prince.

But this has all been said over and over and over again and I doubt it will ever happen.

if it (music) is available to buy, I'll buy it. if it's via a subsccription service ever again, I'll be honest: I'm just going to start stealing it. turnabout is fair play.
