I like it!
It's fun-kee. It might be the strongest track of the 5... My immediate reactions to the 5 new songs are that they are - like much of his recent output - not classic/memorable hits, but rather great ear-candy with great musicianship. The songs themselves are a bit forgettable, unfortunately, but I'm thrilled to hear his guitar work on Wall of Berlin. I've wanted him to let loose on guitar in his recordings the way he does live, and it doesn't get any better than that!!

I said it earlier but the more I play this song, the more it hits me. Headphones make a difference for me with this song. The funk is really kicking there. [Edited 12/23/08 9:55am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

This is an awful song. This sounds like it was taken straight from Rave. It has all the ingredients: phony confidence, goofy sounding plastic beats, and an obnoxious chorus. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

That's the biggest problem where Prince and his music is concerned. Fans continually compare the past to the present and the past will always win. Prince knew this when he sang "My only competition is, well, me in the past" on "Don't Play Me" in 1998. They were doing it then and they are doing it now and it will continue forever unfortunately. How one can compare "They'll Never B Another Like Me" to "Colonized Mind" is beyond me. They are from 2 different genres for God's sake. People need to get a grip on reality for real. [Edited 12/24/08 7:27am] I have a very firm grip on reality. This was the first of the new Prince songs that I listened to, and I was actually shocked at how bad it was. The song is simply garbage. You can throw it on the heap along with Life 'O' the Party, Jam of the Year, Undisputed, and all the other disingenuous, self-aggrandizing, listless party tracks. I'm amazed anyone likes this song. It has plastic beats, phoned in vocals, and lyrics that are quite honestly embarrassing for a man his age. It comes off like an out of touch old man trying desperately to show the young kids that he's hip. I don't think Prince believed in or cared about this song while recording it. That's the sound that emanates from it: artistic dishonesty. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

With all due respect, I disagree with the majority of your what you said. With that said, I said it before and I'll say it again, there are some lyrics that make me go "WTF" like the "Olive Oil in my hair" or "Don Cornelius and Rick James" parts but it doesn't stop me from enjoying the song any. Shoot, there are many songs from the 1980's that made me go "WTF" and I found a way to enjoy those songs too without driving myself crazy about it. I love the music and the beat of the song. Unlike all the songs you listed up there, this song makes me want to dance. I can't speak for you but I don't look for depth with a song like Erotic City or Kiss or in any dance music. I'm looking to shake my ass and I can do this to TNBALM. I don't see what's wrong or "artistically dishonest" about Prince talking about wanting to get on the dance floor or talking about himself the way he does in the song. Is it because he's 50? Why couldn't he get down like that? Would you say the same thing about Madonna and her telling everyone to "see her booty get down like uh" on the Hard Candy CD and she's the same age as Prince? I'm not 50 so I don't know nor am I trying to figure out how he should be "mature" in his songs. Basically, I don't look at this song as a song to take that seriously other than it being a dance song to dance to and have fun with. Again, I respect what you're saying and I hope I don't come off harsh and I apologize if I do but I don't see it like that at all. Different strokes for different folks and that's cool. [Edited 12/24/08 10:18am] Madonna is actually similar to Prince in that regard. I've criticized her much the same way. I'm no believer in ageism. I'm fine with Prince wanting to sing about his sexuality or sense of fun, but not when it sounds as blatantly fake as it does in this track. Let's not completely discount the importance of Prince's age either, though. It isn't unreasonable to expect some growth in his lyrics after all these years. Prince has always, and I mean always, been a greater artist than hit makers like Madonna. Is it so much to ask that a song like this at least be clever if it can't be mature? Nevermind that the production is the same as those dreaded NPS/Rave days. This is essentially the same exact shallow party/ego song we've heard from him a billion times. A lot of artists repeat themselves, but my lord. This guy has recorded the same bad song with the same trite superficial message yet again. It's almost shameful, really.
