he filmed the video for somewhere here on earth that one day in prague, i suppose, and went back to london the next . london to prague only takes couple of hrs.. the vid had to be shot during the night cuz there's nobody about.. just prince, a bridge & a pretty girl.. it was hardly a complex shoot, it must've took him longer 2 apply makeup & get dressed up 4 this thing than it took 2 film.. then back 2 blighty..chances are he dozed on plane b4 nxt performance! still, very impressive!

I got the book last night and just kinda thumbed through it a few times..
I like it better than I thought I would, I too would have loved more performance pics and more candid stuff.. but overall, it's cool

Finally got my copy. It's pretty cool and a nice item to have.
To me, it has the same vibe as a tourbook only on a huge scale. And the night-time Prague shots are very 'Torchwood'. He'll be in Cardiff next, fighting aliens

However there is nothing like going to see P and you hear the opening bars of a song like Forever In My Life that maybe is a favourite of yours and you have never heard live before to make your heart expand and you just go nuts. It is not that you don't like the new stuff but nostalgia is powerful stuff. 4ever in my life falls in2 the category of diehard favorite which is fine. the ONA tour was FULL of these type of songs. it's the countless times one hears LGC, LRC, PR etc that makes seeing prince these days a drag man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

got home opened my copy up very carefully and go through nice and slowly so not to damage it get about 1/2 way through and one of the pages is ripped so gonna have to try and change it
i like alot of the photos and it is far bigger than i thought though i could have done with alot less picture of Chelsea or empty corridors (however artistic they might be) and some pictures of the aftershows or even more of the mainshows its far bigger than i though but its lovely quality and well worth the money With Love there is no Death

I got my book last night and I must say, I really like the book. I'm not bothered about how photoshopped Prince looks in the book or how Prince and the NPG were posing in the pics. So what? It's still Prince and he looked amazing. Everybody looked great. The shots were done in a tasteful and sexy manner and I really enjoyed it.
I will say, I could have done without all of those shots of Chelsea Rogers. What was the point of all of that? Waste of paper. I could have done without all those pics of London too. I'm sure it's a great city and I realy want to visit it one day, but there are plenty of books out there on London I can look at later in the future. That's it. I didn't think the book was going to be as big as it is so I was very surprised by that. The whole thing, book/CD, was totally worth my money and I think everybody here who says "I don't want the book" should give it a chance. The pictures are beautiful and they are worth having in your collection. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I finally received the book today, and the pics are absolutely stunning. Ranee did a great job. I also admire Prince's poetry. This book outweighs all my other Prince souvenirs.

The whole book basically centers around 3121 and the planet earth album, with London concert to follow, so I could see Chelsea's pics being in there. I love the book and the size of it, very classy.

Still, from the few pictures I've seen and the comments U posted, he was planning to do a very personal work with these shots. I would compare this project to the aborted 1982 'The Second Coming' documentary, in a mature and more subtle manner, of course. The concept being him, a dark but sometimes smile-hinting figure, surrounded by his women (back in 1982 there were Susan Moonsie and another chick in lingerie, now we have the Twinz and Chelsea Rodgers as a maid, not that far). And then, foggy atmosphere, softly lit rooms and beautiful colors. Plus a more evident religious touch. I think we're dealing with a little of self-indulgence, but I like it. It's Prince, so it's ordinary stuff. Is that Chesea Rodgers as the maid or is that a twin? Also, I was there on night 20 out of 21 and I thought I would see him in what he was wearing on stage that night (hot pink pants), but it was not like that. I still love the book because he always looks great.

Wanna talk about what you liked and didn't like? Anything in there that has you perplexed the you want to ask the resident experts about? Here's where we talk about what we think of the book, good and/or bad. Other review threads about the book will be locked and redirected to this thread. Have at it! The book is beautiful, just not what I expected. I thought I was going to see "real" pictures from each night in London, but it was all staged. It was still great.

dustysgirl said: I, personally, don't care to see any pictures of the women in Prince's life. Too many in there. Too many good pictures were ruined because of the photos being spread across the spine of the book. I also was hoping there would be more natural pictures and not all those posed pictures.
Oh well, still really appreciate it. But how am I going to fit this on my bookshelf? It's bigger than my high school yearbook. Those are my two main issues with the book. Some pics were very hard to see because they were spread across the spine. I also would have liked some more natural pics as well as more performance pics. Some of those pics of the street, hotel and airport could have been replaced with performance pics. I would have liked more pictures rehearsing, out and about, onstage, getting ready to perform backstage, at the aftershows, etc. I think it could have still been very sleek and told a story but included more of those kinds of shots. I wasn't expecting the Prince/maid (Chelsea Rodgers) story. That said, the book is very well done and well worth the $30 price. I actually think that it is underpriced. I think the book looks GREAT! I was kinda worried because, let's be real, sometimes Prince stuff looks cheap. But this is very high in quality and quantity. The thing is huge! And it's also very thick with plenty to look at PLUS it comes with new music and it was only 30 bucks! That's insane!

I'm sure this is the nicest coffee table book I'll ever buy...That said. I think it reminds me of a Vogue magazine than anything else. I think Randee was limited if she wasn't allowed to photograph Prince performing. It's also interesting that he comments at length about photographers on the CD, however humorous. His poses are intriguing and the boudoir shots are sexy. There is one close up shot of him that is absolutely gorgeous where it seems like you can see clear through to his soul in his gaze. I've only looked through the book once and I know that will be my favorite photo.

Okay, it finally arrived yesterday.
The book is beautiful, the photos stunning. But my god - couldn't they have worked with someone who understands how to work type and photos around the gutter? It's like they got so trapped into the idea of using full-page bleeds everywhere that they couldn't give the photos any breathing room. It looks like they put the whole thing together on a computer and were blown away by the beauty of it on a flat screen. But when you're dealing with over 250 pages in a hardcover binding, it's a little different than a 100-page, perfect-bound (or saddlestitched) tourbook. The pacing isn't too bad. But it could have been improved by making some of those full-page bleeds into facing-page consecutive frames - or some other visual variation. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The girl asked if I wanted one put on hold (yeah I was about to ask her to ), I said yes as I was going to come down this morning and pick it up. Where to pick it up? I was told just go to the purchase counter we will have it waiting for you. She took my name and that was it!! I grabbed my car keys and made my way there.
I have it I have it!!! I was scared slipping cover off to let it out of the cover for fear outside cover would rip. So I did it very carefully. Now the fun part will be getting the book back inside it again after reading it. . Ok..... I've calmed down now. Must have a good read and comment about it later. Oh one comment..... the symbol on the front of the outside cover was The same thing should of been applied to the actual cover of the book itself. Anyways.... yep further comments later ME TOO! just got it at lunchtime in Waterstones here in Dublin, so it is out! "My God it's full of Stars"
