What is so weird about that cat picture that you have posted, is that my first husband did that kind of mixed photography when we were young, and has pictures of his first girlfriend and her cat that came out great...this one here isn't very good, because I have seen several real good ones.

And according to my Amazon account and online banking institution, I was charged for the book plus tax Saturday. On Amazon it says the book should arrive between Oct. 3 - 7.

It's about to be shipped. I wonder what my opinions will be after if it's shipped and how it will compare to The Sacrifice of Victor. Of the promo images already released, I'm leaning toward 21 Nights. Check back with me after it arrives.

I have mine for nearly a week now. First, the book is much bigger than I would have imagined. Really a nice coffee table book. The pics don´t give you an intimate glimpse of Prince backstage at all. If you want those kind of pics, even the "Prince in Hawaii"-book is better.
That said, the book is beautifully photografed. 21 nights consists of fashion photography like you would find it in "Vogue", most of which shows Prince and the twins. You get a glimpse of his hotel room at the dorchester (the twins dressed up as maids) and of Princes own bible, though.

Early Sunday morning recieved an e-mail from Amazon saying 21 Nights has been shipped and I should see it any day now. The location of the book is in southern Kentucky, so I would believe the book should arrive by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

One or two pictures in the book are of the O2 stadium inside with the empty seats.
So what I'm missing is that there is not one single picture of his fans in the book, what would have been 21 nites in London without his fans? And not one single picture of him playing life, except the sound-check picture or whatever that is and one where he is surrounded by stage-fog which is beautiful.
All the pictures are posed, so yeah I'm missing him sandwich-eating and sweat-on-his-forhead as well and his faces he makes playing guitar!!! neutral

I haven't bought the book yet, but I'm gonna order it via an American Book Store here in Milan.
Still, from the few pictures I've seen and the comments U posted, he was planning to do a very personal work with these shots. I would compare this project to the aborted 1982 'The Second Coming' documentary, in a mature and more subtle manner, of course.

The concept being him, a dark but sometimes smile-hinting figure, surrounded by his women (back in 1982 there were Susan Moonsie and another chick in lingerie, now we have the Twinz and Chelsea Rodgers as a maid, not that far). And then, foggy atmosphere, softly lit rooms and beautiful colors. Plus a more evident religious touch.
I think we're dealing with a little of self-indulgence, but I like it. It's Prince, so it's ordinary stuff.

wouldn't u b miserable if u constantly had 2 play the same old reheteric night after night and everytime u want 2 stretch out in2 the new music, the audience response was "NO WE WANT THE OLD SHIT!!"?
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Yeah, but there are loads of people who do it, love it and embrace it. Like Elton John, Paul McCartney, to name but a few.

Besides Prince has enough music to mix and match so I can't see him getting bored with it.

The book is really boring, sorry to say so. Whre are the shots we wanna C? Backstage, cocerts, indigo... It looks like a bad made advertising from H&M or something. But the cd is brilliant, it´s raw and funky as hell, so put the cd in your stereo and you`ll be back in London in a second.

I just got mine yesterday. I like the pictures, he looks really sexy, but they are so airbrushed he almost looks like a wax figure of himself.

And I didn't need pictures of the street, the 02 Arena, hotel rooms, etc. or pics of just the Twinz. There aren't as many of him as I would have liked or expected.

I do like the CD though.

but i highly doubt the artists u name have a vault of 500-700+ unreleased music that's dying 4 their day in the sunlight or the hundreds of released music that begs 2 b played live but instead it's the same old drivel.

i felt really sorry 4 him one night in london after he did black sweat and the response after the song was done was very lukewarm. prince then responds "ah prince ur such a tease, play us something we know"

now that is a very sad statement 4 a artist that is trying 2 branch out and create and share his latest efforts but his "fans" don't want 2 grow with him, and want 2 contain him in2 a small box of time.

constant posts from his "fans" always want him 2 stay in that box, well i got the box cutter willing 2 free him from that time zone.

THANK YOU PRINCE!!!!

OH MY GOD!!

Love the book. I never got anything like this from any artist b4. Thank you thank you. I havent heard the album yet. And I shouldnt have let these people on here get the best of me ..Im thinking the book was only going to be 20 pages long they way they say. Love the pictures. Especially the ones with Prince and the Twinz. This is much better than the Hawaii book...I really cannot stand alot of people on this site because you guys really make THE WORST of things and dissapoint me to no regards w/o even seeing it. However there is nothing wrong with him, he doesnt look miserable..its not a glass stand and definitley worth my $35...

That happens with every artist who has a reasonably long career though. Although many will want new music too, the old stuff is what you know, love and have grown up with - its familiar.

It happened when I went to see George Michael last year. He has made some great music in his career but the songs that got the most reception were from his Wham days. Its nostalgia.

Also P is not played mainstream (radio/MTV) like he used to be so people don't have as much chance of hearing tracks like Black Sweat as versus 10 - 15 years ago.

This morning I phoned a Chapters bookstore and was told they had 25 copies in the store! The girl asked if I wanted one put on hold (yeah I was about to ask her to neutral ), I said yes as I was going to come down this morning and pick it up. Where to pick it up? I was told just go to the purchase counter we will have it waiting for you. She took my name and that was it!! I grabbed my car keys and made my way there.

I have it I have it!!! excited I was scared slipping cover off to let it out of the cover for fear outside cover would rip. So I did it very carefully. Now the fun part will be getting the book back inside it again after reading it. lol.

Ok..... I've calmed down now. Must have a good read and comment about it later. Oh one comment..... the symbol on the front of the outside cover was cool The same thing should of been applied to the actual cover of the book itself. Anyways.... yep further comments later excited excited

There'll be a cazillion reviews so you really don't need my two cents here, but I couldn't wait for the preorder so on my lunch break I stopped at the nearest bookstore.

It's far bigger than I expected (and how often do you say that with Prince, hm?) and in my opinion a really beautiful book. Yeah, I'd love to see some shots of Prince sitting in bed in his jammies with a bag of Doritos but that ain't gonna happen. I am relieved however, that the photos in the book do not appear as Photoshopped to death as they appeared online.

It's a great addition to the collection, and considering he rarely releases live recordings, well worth the money.

Merry Princemas y'all! cool
