He should make shorts out of the 4.8 million he's getting paid for this.

i think these days it would be less like bikini briefs and more like bermuda shorts and a fanny pack. but it would be a gem encrusted fanny pack, no doubt.

and i bet either u will have 2 pay 4 the concert or mister insecurity will have it blocked man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

That's one hell of an hourly rate! Worth every penny The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Just a thought but maybe the reason why he got paid so much was because they made a deal over the internet viewings? Maybe it is written into the contract that they are allowed to stream the performance?
The above statement is only a thought and suggestion - I know absolutely nothing about it! I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

I was never interested in going to this festival, until now. But of course the tickets are sold out.....
I think this will be very interesting. I wonder how the crowd will react, since I have to assume that most are attracted to a certain style of music that doesn't sound half as good as Prince. I have a friend that has gone to this festival because of her musical tastes, and I wouldn't go for free to see the groups that she likes. What do you guys think?

I've been to about five of these Coachella Festivals and every year as you wait in the long line to the festivals there are plenty, and I mean plenty of people getting rid of tickets. Some at face value and I've had friends who've purchased them for as little as $50 for the one day passes. It's a minimum risk, I think, to drive out there and purchase the tickets from folks outside the festival. WTF if Prince was booked to save this event these greedy fuckers should still have one day passes be on sale but instead they only offer the 3 day $269 dollar passes. But now come to think of it to cover 4.8million they probably had to. To Sir, with Love

Angelic...he played Essence Festival in 2004 at the Superdome in New Orleans with The Time.... He even snuck in a 1-hour funk/rock set BEFORE his 2+hour set in disguise(black wig,Kung Fu outfit, sunglasses, rolling around on roller skates). He would later return as "Prince" and play with Wendy, Sheila....but the highlight had to be him performing "I Feel For You" and "Sweet Thing" with Chaka Kahn. It was awesome!!! If Prince should decide to go with bikini brief or disco balled thong at Coachella...let's hope that he manscapes. There is more money in boobs than there is in God- Jessica Simpson

wouldn't that be Rock In Rio back in '91? Also did the Mill City Music Festival downtown Mpls in 1999 (sorry if this was mentioned, I'm too freakin' tired to read the whole thread)

Did a quick calculation and even with the exhorbitant amount of money i'd have to layout... $538 - (2) 3 day tickets $110 - (2) Onsite camping passes $550 - Tent hotel upgrade $1198 - Grand Total (not counting gas, food, etc.) ...I considered it for about 30 seconds. That's how long it took me to realize i'd only really want to be there 1 day. That's how long it took me to realize that out of the 50+ acts scheduled for Saturday, I might want to see 2? (3 if I really stretched it) That's how long it took me to realize we'd have to be ready to "cue-up" at 11am to have the possibility of being anywhere near the stage... ...and be ready to hang there all friggin' day in the heat listening to bands I don't care to hear. More than likely... ...we'd be watching from somewhere around those trees at the rear of the 1st photo. Watching the streaming video from the comfort of my living room is a more financially sound and hassle free decision. Now, if I could some how finagle a Press Pass... ...and come and go as I please in this area. Nah. If I was a teenager this might be appealing. At this stage, it's much closer to being appalling. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. tA, i think you're making the right choice. braving a festival like coachella really isn't worth it for just one artist, especially if they're going to have an online simulcast.
generally, i think with music festivals, you have to plan out the event well ahead of time, and it helps to go with people who are music festival vets (which you may well be, though i don't remember hearing you talk about any brown acid in the past ). if i'd heard about this a month or two ago, it's highly likely that i'd go at least for the day. still, between coachella and lollapalooza, i think i made the right choice this year, prince or no prince.

This is SO crazy. I was just talking to some friends about..."What if Prince shows up at Lolla this year?" No joke.
I HAVE to go to Coachella. I wanted to see him at 3121, but I wasn't old enough yet. Now I'm 21, and I've promised myself that I am GOING to see him live no matter what. So...I live 3,000 miles away, and I don't have the money for a three-day pass, but I think I can manage a plane ticket. My friend lives less than a mile from the festival, and I'm sure she'd let me crash there. If someone could help me out...I would do ANYTHING. I live in Chicago and have connections at Lolla. I was able to sneak a couple of my friends in at Lolla 2006. It was SO easy. They got three-day passes for free. *sigh* This would be a dream-come-true.
