I think that I have this ability to absorb people but it won't bust out. If I did, I wouldn't be here talking to any of you guys (No offense) because I "LOVE" it. I wish I could just pick up a guitar and play it as people say "Prince" did. I mean, I'm sure he worked a it. But, it is just hard to believe that he had went through the same pestering difficulties. I'll never know, though, because I don't personally know the man. Hey, what do you think it means if I am at least good at picking up on almost every lick on the guitar of a song I can hear? I used to think it was something worthy of speaking on, but I think I grew out of that. Sorry, I don't "TALK" as much as I "TYPE". So, if you knew me, it wouldn't be as annoying. I've got some habits I've got to kick.....and soon! Nah, I'm not surprised. Actually, it FEELS longer. Playing guitar is such a part of who I am, spiritually, that it feels like it's been all of my life. I grew up around music. My dad was a guitarist. Type in "Eddie and Ernie" page and one of their websites will come up. Anyway, my mom plays piano, clarinet and violin. I started playing guitar when I was 5, on and off. I didn't get truly serious untill my early teens. I've been playing ever since. About what u posted, don't think about how fast you're developing. Just go along with. Everyone is different. That's how GOD wanted it. U have to follow your own road. If u pick up things quickly, then that's good. I was playing lead very shortly after I actually started playing. Because it was always in my soul. When I was very young, around 7, I used to walk around humming guitar solos in my head. And mind u, at the time, I didn't KNOW that it was guitar solos. I didn't know what it was actually, at the time. But it was very natural and obviously something that was inside of me. I had been humming solos and passages and guitar sounds. It sounded very similar to how Hendrix sounded and this was waaaay before I was even hipped to Jimi. Hell, I do that right now. I can improvise in my head what would be a great solo, but I am "SO" far from the level of dexterity that/than what my mind grasps. You know what I mean?

Why does it seem like it kind of hurts now while playing around with with my "Johnson/Fender Stratocaster Model" (I hear because of it's $100 price that it is mostly a beginner's, by the way) of a guitar with "10" guage strings. I switched from having "9" guages to that and my action has been "SLIGHTLY" adfjusted, but by all means, besides the fact that they are heavier strings and the sound is clearer, it's almost just as complicated. I don't understand. My action must not be low enough or something. I swear that I think I should be just a little more comfortable while playing, but I don't know. Can someone show me a close-up photo of a guitar with the action and string guage that they think might suit me? I say number C. Look carefully if the neck is straight. If not, adjust it. And try to adjust the bridge. If you can't do it yourself, go to a guitar shop and ask if they can fix your problem. If it cannot be fixed: buy a decent guitar. Good luck Farrah.

Yeah, I might just be whining, then. So far, my electric guitar is still the first and only one I have. I can't afford a new one, right now. But, perhaps when I cam, I will buy another one. It must be the guitar, though. I swear that there was this one time when I slammed on the axe, man! It's just that it was someone else's. This was in front of like two people, too. So, I have/had some witnesses. Perhaps neck relief is significant, but I can't even tell the difference of the neck if you ask me. [Edited 7/29/07 10:38am]
