You remember when you used to hear the outtakes of an album before the actual album came out. I remember hearing D&P and Graffiti Bridge months before the actual release.

And collecting the music consisted of waiting by your mailbox for a package of poor sounding cassettes coming to you from another collector in another state.

and you STILL have most of those tape!

I JUST found the last PPML email on an old computer yesterday. I was thinking about posting it to show these kids what we had to do for information back in the day.

Also, sitting by the mailbox waiting for the latest issue of PRINCE FAMILY NEWSLETTER. those rocked!

cool You saw Prince open for the Rolling Stones & got booed. cool

How many people know that Prince included the booing and taunting from that Rolling Stone concert on his song, "Poplife" I only learned that a few weeks ago on VH-1. It makes me sort of sad to hear that part of the song now. But who got the last laugh.

I still have the Prince buttons, Tshirts, Vinyl, Black Beat and Righton!mags.

I also wore thick blackeyeliner everyday allday, darkened my beauty mark and wore my hair like Wendy when she first joined the revolution.

Ahhh, the good ol days!!

You try to find that 12" of Deborah Allen's Telepathy you are certain you bought in '87

You have every album from For You - Lovesexy in LP AND CD.

Your SOTT is in 2 jewel boxes.

Your ATWIAD CD is NOT in a jewel box

You have 2 CDs of 1999 (1 with DMSR, 1 w/o), 2 Batman (1 batcan, 1 reg),

a gold foiled Symbol CD package.

I guess I must be quite old school then.....!!!!!

You have around 10 Musicology giveaways CDs but never bought the regular release

"downloaded" 3121 probably do the same for PE.

I've heard that rumor too, but I don't think it is true. The sound probably came from the SFX library that he was using at that time. Many of the songs on that album were lightly seasoned with sound effects, and I think it came from that collection. VH1 may have just picked up that rumor and ran with it.

Really old school is remembering that the winner's name was Lisa Barber. A friend of mine called her immediately after the announcement to get tickets. He didn't end up going.

it is from a boxing match. I am not sure if it is a REAL match or not, but, I would bet that it was from some sound effect tape.

did a story on it. They talk about people calling. One person said that they or someone they knew was dieing had only a few weeks to live and wanted tickets but they said something like "well you'll be dead before he comes."

And I agree, this kind contest is has little chance of being won by an actual fan.
