You listened to "Sister" and "Head" in the cloak room of school with your friends on a big ole cassette player. You got mad when all the Hard Rock kids called him a "fag."

When you first heard heart or $ on your record player and thought,"Is this the right speed?".

When you first heard the beginning of America and thought, "Did the cassette break already?".

I'm definitely doing that. Just isn't the same experience when you download the music. Only odd thing here is that I am 24.

U used to spin the ending parts of Baby, I'm A Star and Purple Rain backwards by hand for your friends to hear what he was really saying 'cause U had that album (along with others) on vinyl. Remember when you would get that repetitive scratching sound and that was your que to actually get up and turn the record over to play the other side? HA!

You wouldn't dream of attending the Purple Rain concert without wearing a lace camisole, those fingerless gloves mentioned above, and a pair of high-heeled, suede ankle boots that you had to mince your way across the parking lot in so they wouldn't get wet and ruined by salt.

And all these items were easily obtained at the local mall. Prince never got the credit he deserves for influencing 80's street fashion! lol
I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

WellInever

if you had any Prince 8 tracks...

if you just do not get into the new stuff like Diamonds and Pears.

if you saw American Bandstand and thought "listing to this guy would get my parents mad"

if you were mad that prince sold out with purple rain...

if you had no idea what songs like "head" "sister" and "jack u off" were about when you first got them...
