Hahahahahahahahahaha!!! I swear sometimes I come back just to see the fights that go on this site. Lil Wayne thinks that Prince can't sing. Has he heard Adore,Question of U and International Lover? When he can get onstage and put on a show that doesn't consist of him just marching back and forth across the stage with the dancers doing most of the work then I will listen to him. And the use of that one word, just has to stop. And my Grandson is a big fan of this clown but not me. But I wish him a successful career but he needs to respect his elder even though I think he thought what he said was a compliment. Go to school and education.
Ahem, get a education.

Prince isn't a great singer. that is true. he isn't. that doesn't mean he isn't great.

but the guy is giving Prince props and you imbeciles still can't see the forest through the trees. any hint of Prince not being applauded 100 percent and you fools have a reptilian response to just attack and criticize, and a complete inability to actually analyze what was actually said. I always thought Prince fans were rather ignorant and self applauding, but now I see you lack not only the intelligence to comprehend anything more complex than "Prince is the best, yer yer," but have the inability to actually stop and think and simply live your life through knee jerk responses, like a reptile, to the first thought that comes to mind.

so for you ignorant SOB's, I'll break down what was said so you can realize the guy is applauding Prince and you don't feel attacked: "Prince can't sing, but that nigga is funky don't need to know how to sing. he write his ass off and jam a song like nobody's business. the fact that he can pump out jammin songs and can't sing a lick only make that nigga even funkier."

god forbid everybody in the world doesn't think Prince farts gold dust that can cure cancer. what is wrong with you people?

it's called an ad hominem attack, when you have no argument to disute their position so you simply attack the arguer, and is mostly used by ignorant people who can't analyze whart is being said and do not posses the aility to address it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool-Aid

The idiomatic expression "drinking the Kool-Aid" was originally a reference to the Merry Pranksters, a group of people associated with novelist Ken Kesey who in the early 1960s travelled around the United States and held events called "Acid Tests", where LSD-laced Kool-Aid was passed out to the public (LSD was legal at that time). Those who "drank the Kool-Aid" passed the "Acid Test." "Drinking the Kool-Aid" in that context meant accepting the LSD drug culture, and the Pranksters' "turned on" point of view. These events were described in Tom Wolfe's 1968 classic, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.

It is also now closely associated with the 1978 cult mass-suicide/murder in Jonestown, Guyana. Jim Jones, the leader of the Peoples Temple, convinced his followers to move to Jonestown. Late in the year, he then ordered his flock to commit suicide by drinking grape-flavored Flavor Aid laced with potassium cyanide. In what is now commonly called the "Jonestown Massacre," a large majority of the 913 people later found dead drank the brew. (The discrepancy between the idiom and the actual occurrence is likely due to Flavor Aid's relative obscurity versus the easily recognizable Kool-Aid.) The precise expression can be attested in usage at least as early as 1987. One lasting legacy of the Jonestown tragedy is the saying, "Don't drink the Kool-Aid." This has come to mean, "Don’t trust any group you find to be a little on the kooky side," or "Whatever they tell you, don't believe it too strongly." The phrase can also be used in the opposite sense to indicate that one has blindly embraced a particular philosophy or perspective (a "Kool-Aid drinker", or, as a cynical response to a fanatical claim, "sounds like someone's been drinking the Kool-Aid!").

In a thread a while back, me and the troll mirrorbestfriend were arguing about something. Mirror asked me if I thought that Parliament/Funkadelic was just a gathering of ex-JB musicians. I said no.
Shortly after, Legs quotes my post saying something like
"The troll... bla bla... bla bla... and you agree with him. How typical.

I was like, hmm
I told her I'd never agreed with the troll on anything. She should read my posts better I guess. Anyway, she didn't say anything, just ignored me.
In a later thread, she attacked me and accused me of 'faking the funk' cause I thought some other guys (who turned out to be Legs' friend) Prince dream band that consisted of some newer R&B & Rap cats was just too 'neo soul crappy' for me.

We got off at wrong foot, to say the least.

yes, if being logical, rational and open minded, and not blinded by preference and bias, makes people mad, then yes, that is what I am here for.

people here forget that we are all Prince fans, that is why we are here. it is just that some of us don't think the man walks on water or that any hint of negativity about him is an attack or afront on him.
That's the thing: I don't see where a lot of people had problem with what Lil Wayne said but how he said it. He has no talent in my honest opinion so to make such comments about Prince seems unfair to me. I am not sticking up for Prince, I din't know the guy, but Lil Wayne's assessment is without merit. I personally don't care for Prince's singing voice. What moves me is how and what he has to say.

No we think Lil Wayne sucks and I don't really give a shit about his so-called compliment (according to you) I don't like the dude's music and no one on this topic likes him. He has no business discussing Prince good or bad.

He just needs to shut his ignorant ass up.

here is my 2 cents in all this.. you can agree or disagree with me. I see so many people in this forum always making fun of other musicians like justin, and lil wayne and im sure there has been many before that. What I dont get is if we are fans of prince and his music shouldnt it be a GOOD thing that other people have found prince and his music as a influence to there own music? even if they are not as good as or like him why do we have to knock them down? Prince's music touched them somehow and maybe even made them want to be in the music biz. I think we should feel happy that he touched them somehow. If prince didnt touch someone with his lyrics then he wouldnt be doing it. So maybe they are not as good as you think prince is but im sure they have some talent otherwise you wouldnt know who they are.

that is because this place is filled to the brim with insecure fans who think that the only way they can keep Prince on his pedestal is to simply believe every other entertainment act sucks.

Okay, Lil' Wayne sucks as a rapper, but I don't think he's dissing Prince. I think he is likening his success in the music industry to Prince's. While we as Prince fans might find that offensive, I think he sort of ment this comment to site Prince as an inspiration.
