should prince fire mr and mrs. dunham? cora and her husband josh are good players.
but they don't add nothing to prince's sound. when you hear rhonda or sonny t. you know its them, but when you hear josh and cora you can't remember their sound. there is nothing distinctive in their sound. so it affects prince's live sound . they are good musicians but prince realy realy shine with amazing musicians(blackwell, rhonda, michael bland ,sonny t,matt fink, renato, sheila, eric leeds...) [p.s.) my friend who is drummer after listening to cora and blackwells take on shhh say that cora doesnt play it right.

That decision is up to Prince. I don't dislike them. They're ok.

after seeing them up close in vegas, they are incredible musicians
and it may be good for prince to have them around as an example of a relationship that works

Yes, they excel in mediocrity. I mean, listen to Cora's use of the hi-hat. And I haven't heard great bass lines from Josh except from 'Get on the boat'. I don't understand why Prince hired them in the first place. Perhaps they are JWs??

Listen 2 Cora's drumming on the Alma Award show.
She is powerful. I'd have 2 hear Josh play "Let's Work" on Bass before I passed judgment on him, but he's tight so far. "He's a musician's musician..."

They are both professional musicians but I feel nothing from either of them. I will be glad when they are both l o n g gone. Music.............is the THANG!

I see them as just part of the touring band. Two musicians that can hold their own. I don't think P is looking for that distinctive sound right now. They can play and they do the songs justice live and thats what matters to him right now. These two deserve a break and when it is over they can go and do their OWN thing and then u can judge them on that. I don't care what u think of them there is no way they are bringing that show down. Sometimes less is more and u don't need too much flash on the part of backing musicians. There is a time and tour for everything. If P wanted something different believe me he would have went and got it by now.

they seem really nice and can play their asses off
if you have not seen them, no need for your opinion

Plug Sonny Thompson and John Blackwell back in and he'll have the best band of his career. No hard feelings.

They are great players.
But I noticed that PrinceĀ“s bands are getting more like backing musicians and less as bandmembers. Even on stage, they spend most of the time far from him. The NPG 95 was more like a band. Everyone had their own sound (I know most people prefer Renato over Barbarella, but the keyboard sound of Barbarella was much more unique) and they played together with Prince.

Probably the best Prince bass player ever. It's so sad that she's gone Yeah but Rhonda took A LONG time to get that good. When she first started you would CONSTANTLY hear her messing up live, it was quite embarrassing. Prince's band has always consisted of top notch professionals, and we had to endure this chicks growth on stage. She's the ONLY artist that Prince has ever had that has messed up her parts during a live performance that many times. No matter how good she might have been by 2004, those onstage screw up's will stick with me always. Not A Newbie, Just Reinvented

rhonda messing up live???are you serious?
rhonda maybe didn't have that hard hitting groove prevoious prince's bass players had but from the first moment she broughtrefined pastorius jaco sensibility to prince's music. on emancipation "dreaming about" rhonda played great solo/ prince rearly let other people play on his records, especialy newbie .rhonda was almoust kid back then
