Your comment on W&L is well founded. Some People here think W&L wrote 1/2 of Prince's music and it simply isn't true. They did however, INFLUENCE him in a big way. He liked writing around them and most are pretty certian they had some influence as to where some of the music went. IMO, I think those influences were not the beats or the foreground music, but were the background washes and the slight whimsical touches.

and i can only speak for myself but where did this notion of everyone is a dj come from? when i listen to a cd/album/record/whatever i plop it in my cdplayer and enoy it from start to finish.
