Many many moons ago, as I gazed into my I decided that my Prince would one day be a King! Well Friday night he showed the world what graciousness is. His demeanor was royal, his speech was flawless. He dressed to the 9's. He was and always will be royalty to me,a nd to all of his friends, fams and even those who have yet to discover the beauty in the words of his music. I'm proud of him,and the road he has travelled, the paths that were laid before him to sway him from his love of music. He has however showed that his music is timeless!

Thanks to whoever posted the YouTube link. I was at work too, and missed the show. I loved his speech. He looked amazing, but I have to agree...I love him with long hair.

He is truly a "Prince."

The only thing I liked about the Musicology pimp suits was that he seemed to have them in every colour of the rainbow. I'm a fan of that hot pink number he had. And it definitely beat the ONA black-on-black-on-yawn suits.

He definitely seems happier and more at ease than I think I've ever seen him onstage without an instrument or mic in hand before. Clearly still not entirely comfortable, but there's a marked difference between this and what we used to know as classic podium Prince behaviour. It's also not only one of his longer speeches, but this one's fully coherent -another change from the Prince of past. Good for him for winning, and good for him for not clamming up or acting overly bizarre onstage.

A surprisingly humble speech too. I loved it, expecially the poem/song bit at the beginning. Too cute that he actually took the full-sized notebook he'd had it written in onstage.


And I really like this new hair. It's interesting to see him with something that's not as sculpted or carefully done as he's always had. Or maybe I just like it because it's starting to look like some of my friends' dos.
