I think I've heard those words before in a Prince song... anybody know for sure?? peace out...  It was a nice speech, the audience was at attention and showed him much love and respect. I finally saw the speech! (I had taped the show last night, but had to sift through a lot of other stuff before I found Prince.)
His speech was very beautiful and moving. He seemed very comfortable in delivering his message. I was very excited when he talked about a new Jazz Renaissance, because I am a jazz singer. Congradulations Prince! yes, his speech was deep and heartfelt.I believe he mentioned that Tavis Smiley introduced him to some great jazz musicians whom he was glad to meet, just as they were glad to meet him as well.Then he mentioned that there are 2 kinds of people those who give and those who take.That's pretty deep.Then he ended with telling other artist somwhere along the lines as to keep the ownerships over their arts, not allowing lawyers and record companies complete control.We as fans know how strong P stands behind ownership of his masters with his own battle with Warner Bros, during The Emancipation era.Yes he did look happy and fine as always
