For crying out loud, READ WHAT I WRITE. All this baloney about "owning his image" -- concert pics by accredited photographers can be used only in very specific circumstances. For Prince to demand that those photographers give up their rights to these pics is INSULTING and hypocritical, because Prince himself does just the same thing regularly. Who owns the Tamar album? PRINCE. Yet it's her voice on there? some of you folks are confusing 'right' with 'should'. of course, prince has the right to exercise control over his image... in the case of fansites, tho, and all that free publicity, the question becomes: SHOULD he exercise that right. but it seems prince gets alittle thick on himself around the time of renewed commercial success... i don't nerry a letter was sent when Prince was changing his name to symbols and wearing beekeeper hats callign himself Tora, Tora, Tora... but get alittle scrilla, some props, and a couple solid shows/tours, and it's back to asshole prince. it gets tiring. | |
