I have to say though, these remastered versions of the extended tracks sound awesome, especially I've been waiting for them since I ever heard the original versions.... Fantastic!

If both sides can come to an agreement, they SHOULD release it!!!! I can remember looking @ the 3 cd set with a glimmer of hope, because FINALLY all the b-sides were gonna be on a CD. Then I put the damn thing on.....ALL 45 VERSIONS!!!! What a rip-off!!!!! Warners could just put out a CD with all the 12" versions & make it a double, THEN put out a double disc with all the B-sides. That's what they get for being arrogant f**ks!!!! Anywhere groups like Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones and Van Morrison go, they take their masters with them. Anyone notice that????

I don't know if anyone brought this up but FOR ALL NEW YORKERS:
I picked up a copy of Ultimate Prince at the Virgin Megastore in Union Square. It's up in the front and it's being sold as an import. Hurry up and get yours NOW! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I just called they have about 20 @ $30 each. I told them to hold 3 for me and I'm heading out the door right now! woo hoo!! PS. I would be willing to trade copies for something I don't have--or sell them at cost + a CDr of other type of album. PM me if interested. I might try to buy more than 3 if there are any left...and I'm totally willing to make a deal with fellow fans. [Edited 3/21/06 17:34pm] The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Pretty low when a major chain resorts to selling them at double price and then misleads by calling it an import.

VIRGIN MEGASTORE IN UNION SQUARE NYC HAS IT!!!
At least 15 copies and they were restocking more...my gf and I were debating buying them all and doing the e-bay thing..but thats just not me, so I have one copy. They are $31.95 and have an import sticker on them. Perhaps this is a way to circumvent the injunction? It seems very bizarre to me that a chain that big would go against the law or even be unaware of the suit at some level of management. This particular store is right next to a Circuit City that, of course, had no copies of "Ultimate", but tons of "3121". Ironically, we had swept the east village for copies and had given up, had lunch dinner and were just walking around looking for a bathroom...walked into Virgin to use the ole john...and whammo! Right in front, first display, all props go to Robin, my gf, she saw them first! Purplehead

Sounds fishy to me... Did anyone else who bought one at Virgin have this problem? [Edited 3/21/06 21:03pm] The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. I don't think that's necessarily unusual. I did buy one off of ebay, and received it and that packaging doesn't say Rhino anywhere either. And both discs were there. BUT I did notice that the ones I bought at Virgin do not have the FBI Anti-Piracy Warning stamped on them on the back, lower right like my Ebay one. The Virgin ones have the price tag affixed to the cd and then the shrink wrap is over top of the price tag. And the fine print on the Virgin ones say they are from Warner Music Australia (hence the Import) whereas my Ebay one says WEA (US). I haven't opened any of mine b/c I was going to send them to some fellow orgers...but I tried to call Virgin just now to see if I could return the opened ones for a full refund if they are missing one disc. No one answered--they close at 1am, so I guess they decided not to pick up. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The return policy on the receipt says, "returns on sealed products accompanied by receipt..." or "defective music...may be exchanged for identical product only." It could get tricky if there are no Ultimate cds left to exchange a defective opened one for, so I want to call Virgin before I open the CDs just in case I need to return them. I really want to know if this happened to anyone else...Purplecam, Joshmos, did your's have both discs? The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. 5 years ago I won a contest, where my prize is every CD Rhino releases for a lifetime. So I get a lot of CDs every year ! The reason I mention this is that not all the CDs I get actually say "Rhino" on the actual packaging . For instance, I just got a few weeks some ZZ Top reissues, and they only say Warner Bros on them . Also, they reissed some big Fleetwood Mac albums a year back, and they only say Warner Bros as well . Rhino essentially functions now as the reissue arm of Warner/elektra/Atlantic records, and their subsidiary companies (Such as Sire, East/West, etc), and there is probably some corporate business reason why the Rhino name is only on some CDs and not others, #SOCIETYDEFINESU
