Although, I find this to be disappointing, because of the remasters, I found the realease very puzzling. The track list was almost similar to both of what is already out there. If I was the consumer, I wouldn't know what to buy. Esp. if I wanted a little more bang for my buck. This release competes with both of the other ones.

Problems I saw on this release were...

No new songs that were missed by both the other releases (Mountians, Pop Life, Glam Slam etc) Backed with they DID include Money DOn't Matter and Nothing Compares 2 U, which were lesser hits, it didn't make sense.

The 12" vs regular stuff was also confusing. Besides Let's WOrk and Kiss, these remixes we're THAT special. I can think of at least 3 that would have been a better inclusion.

NOTHING beyond the Symbol Album. You'd think that since there were other albums released after that one and are still under contract, WB could have included stuff off of, Come, TGE, Black Album, and CHaos. Certainly songs from Come and TGE would have been a nice addition and not keep him stuck in 1992.

Not to mention that it conflicted with 3121. Esp for the casual fan that might have picked up 3121 just because.

hopefully it got pulled so it can perhaps be retooled. it deserves to be more than yet another 'best of' compilation. we already have 2 of the fucking things to deal with. why not have something better than that?

But with the amount of material that Prince has got, there's always going to be songs left out.

The trouble with this package is that hard-core fans will be only buying it for disc 2, non-fans will more likely prefer the track-listing of The Best Of and buy that instead. It would be better to put out something for purely hard-core fans since the market for casual fans has already been satiated.

Hopefully, this just means that it will get bumped back. With any luck, it will see the light of day later in the year, and maybe they'll scrap some of the edits for more remixes. One can dream...

I am really dissapointed. And this is after I heard the Quicktime stream and the remastering WAS clear. it made me much more xcited than I was. Did I save the stream? No

But enough people received a copy that I would be shocked if it wasn't leaked (actually I'm surprised it hasn't considering that 3121 has been).

I would have bought it for sure (and still would/will), but after all that work (Tangerine's work, the commercial even!!), but if this is Prince's fault then I say by all means share it. I am not for taking away an artist's profit, but I am all about freeing the music. Especially when it has already been released. Wow, this really sucks.

I also wouldn't expect to see different tracks if it is realeased at a later time. It's already been manufactured. I would expect they will just store these CDs until a later time.

I also don't think that it would have hurt 3121 in any way. It would have only been an oppertunity to cash in twice while he's hot.
