Honestly I'd forgotten about the thing. Just as long as the new album with new music comes out on time I couldn't care less about Rhino's release. It was suckass timing from the giddy-up and they knew it. This piggy back shit was already done when Musicology (or was it TRC?) came out.

The fact is; being remastered IS a big deal as far as his 80's classics are concerned, because they sound infinately better remastered.
Having recently managed to get my hands on a number of remastered tracks from what many consider to be his best album, i can tell you that the difference is beyond compare when played next to the original cd - it's like the difference between day and night - hot thing never sounded so great, ditto the other 9 tracks - it's like discovering the album for the very first time.
News of the remastered Ultimate album was ever bit as exciting to me as seeing him rock out on Fury on SNL without horns!
I want it THAT BAD!!

today Glen Tipton of Judas Priest releases
2 CDs. One is a new CD and one is a RHINO REMASTER.

Now wouldnt the industry be concerned about releasing 2 cds (one new one not)

Ultimate was pulled cause THE LEAK will hurt sales of 3121.

and Prince didnt want even more hurt sales possibly by Ultimate.

The comfort I can offer right now is that it is available on a Polish site. It looks legit (as it can be)... I know there are other copies out there as well. It will be a day before its everywhere. (I'll believe it when I get one myself, but the faucet is SERIOUSLY leaky this week)

Well, 'nana said he'd known about this for a week, whereas the leak only occurred a day or 2 back as far as I know - so it couldn't have been the leak, surely?

I don't see how the leak will hurt sales of 3121, whether it is up on file sharing networks now or in 2 weeks, if you're the type that never intended to buy the album, then your plans haven't changed, all it's done is brought the availability 2 weeks forward. If you're the sort that buys the album, you'll still buy it.

look, if a truck carrying a shipment of these cds back to warner bros's Prince Rogers Nelson Commemorative CD Landfill would just happen to have a little "accident" and maybe screech on its breaks in front of a certain intersection in north chicago (orgnote me), and a box of 'ultimate prince' CDs just happened to fall out the back on to the street, well, i'm not making any suggestions here, but you can trust the people at that intersection (orgnote me) to do the right thing.

please let me know if i should rephrase this in a way that is even shadier.
