If Prince does The Undertaker live then during the chorus the lights go out , then the bonnnnng bonnnnng bonnnnng and The Undertaker walks out , I will probably wet myself with joy [Edited 1/20/06 11:49am] What if Mr. p did his own rendition of "smells like teen spirit" and then all of a sudden u hear"IF YOU SMEEEEELLLLL....." and the Rock comes out and.....Awww nevermind.

mltijchr said: ah.. for me this'll be the proverbial "car crash that you don't want to look at but can't turn away" scenario..
after being sufficiently UNDERWHELMED by the quite tame "te amo corazon" [wow, Prince can say 3 words in Spanish - IMPRESSIVE. he can proudly add this to his impressive foreign language repertoire which of course includes "vous êtes très belle"..] I am WISELY going to lower my (already quite low) expectations of the little purple man's performance. I'd be quite pleased (& shocked) if he played anything before 1990, but I'm not holding my breath on this (again, "low expectations").. I KNOW, I KNOW.. "prince is not living in the past".. but THE PAST ('89 & before) is where his BEST & MOST CONSISTENT GOOD MUSIC resides. As for Fred Armisen, the SNL crew has GOT to do a "prince show" skit.. especially with P being there! as great as it would be to see P BE on this skit about him.. again, I have ABSOLUTELY NO EXPECTATION that he would agree to it. you know, "serious musician" & all that he is. he never let Weird Al do a parody of any of his songs, so I wouldn't expect that he'd be cool with an SNL skit about him either.. in fact, I would not be surprised if the little purple man had a "relapse" & insisted that no 1 in cast/crew approach him or speak to him unless P approached/spoke 1st.. in any event.. should be interesting. just like that car crash. ----- "Weird Al do a parody of any of his songs" , Because Weird Al is not funny. You guys need to get off this kick your on that because P put out a ballad his career is over. It is not like if you keep saying it. It will make it so.

Prince has no say in the matter... but that Al asks if it is okay... but ONLY as a courtsy. The fact is PP send Fread a letter saying the LIKE the show... and you must KNOW by now that PP = Prince.... Prince likes "the Prince Show"

i think you over rate them both,,, "Party Up" is cool because it was from so early... "Electric Chair" was cool because he picked that over "Partyman" Co-sign. Especially about Party-up. It's pretty cool to see old school live Prince, but as performamces go, meh.

was your head up your ass again? Miss what? It's Jan20th now. That date is Feb4th. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Prince likes "the Prince Show" ----- I know about Fred getting a letter and he said when P was in New York in was supposed to come on SNL and do the Prince show with him. So maybe he will do something on Feb 4th. The Prince show is funny. Weird Al is not and we did not miss anything.

come on... Al was funny in the day. but i have to say that his orginial songs like "good enough for now" or "one more minute with you" all to often tended to be better than his parodys.

HalluRain said: I'm laughing my ass off over this thread. Ya'll coming up with these crazy scenarios....
SNL has two guests on the show -- one is the guest host who participates in the skits and such. The other is the musical guest who plays music. Why would you think that Prince would be all up in the skits for the night? Is Steve Martin going to pull out a guitar and perform? I think not. Folks are playing 6 degrees of separation and suddenly they got Beyonce on the show. WTF? And my favorite: "That was a press release from NBC...not the media." I think someone should contact the NBC executives pronto and let them know they aren't part of the media. They seem to have been under the false impression that they are..... I'm not sure that this is the case. Its more like everyone is conjecturing. Most of us are simply goofin' around thinkin' "how funny it would be if..." As for separation of musical guests and regular guests... britney spears did do jessica simpson, janet jackson did do paula abdul... aerosmith was on waynes world. To your credit I think that in the case of Spears she was the guest host. And you NBC comment is right on the money...NBC is Not the press? Ha Ha! I love the idea of Prince dropping by Donnatella's place. And I'd still like him to be someone like Little Richard on the Prince Show. I wonder if fred is begging to have him do something like this. I conjecture... I may have the jelly 4 ur peanut butta but u got 31 hours and 21 minutes left.

Evolution said: The skits will put the audience to sleep, and Prince will keep them asleep. Well, He need not do Te Amo Corazon as his first song. Nor something overly funky (doesn't translate on TV). He needs to play some loud Rock and Roll. Starrfighter

but THE PAST ('89 & before) is where his BEST & MOST CONSISTENT GOOD MUSIC resides. - Hmm....after the Musicology tour, I would be quite pleased if he played anything AFTER 1990...I am really tired of ´Let´s go crazy´, ´Take me with U´ etc... He will surely play Te amo corazon, but I hope he plays something exciting too

You'd have to guess that he will definately play Te Amo Carazon as one of the performances.
Who knows how this may sound live with his new band? It may have a whole different feel. Maybe he will extend that little guitar solo and turn the mother out. We'll have to wait and see. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.
