She had a twitter convo with someone about Prince, and she got so interested when somebody said he/she has private stories to tell to her about Prince. This is simply so nasty wanting to know shit negative gossip stories about him by some random as PR people.
She lived under his roof, they should have more respect for each other. I honestly think Prince is so over with it. He must be laughing his butt off. He probably realised after the annulation that it was all games. He musta been tricked out.
Edit: Btw, does anyone else think if Mayte is so boring, maybe Prince is boring too personality wise? Maybe he's boring like no other mofo?! He should freuqent the Org ladies 4 good head massage .

Yes, G, thanks for the factual info - now it makes sense what Mayte said about animal fats and PMM. Disagree however with the conjecture that Prince is to blame, again. I'm not saying he definitely isn't and am defending him - I'm saying I make no judgment. First, it's not certain that Mayte's PMM was caused by her diet. It's only one possible risk factor. My friend was NOT vegan/vegetarian and was normal weight and it still happened to her. It may not be anybody's "fault" at all - it's just one of those things. Some people do everything "right" and still have unsuccessful pregnancies or birth defects; others do everything "wrong" and pop out lots of normal babies. Second, we don't "know" for certain about his "dietary proclivities at the time." There are only conjectures, gossip, tabloid stories, people who may be extortionists (or not). Besides, one could come to the conclusion that it was not Prince, but Mayte's "proclivities." She is the total animal lover. She's said in a magazine interview that he took her artistic opinions seriously, so perhaps she influenced him more than we assume - we tend to assume is was the autocratic dictator, but maybe it wasn't completely one-sided. After the episode in which she's talking to Andrea about dolphins, it's possible that the three dolphins on the baby's urn and the "Dolphin" song were her influence. Also all that Egypt mumbo-jumbo he was into at the time - it's quite probably that came from her. So maybe she was a vegan by choice. Again, I'm not making conclusions; I'm just not making a judgment on who's "to blame."

I'm not sure but I think you're talking about Mona Scott Young, aka The Barracuda. She's huge. She did have some gig on one of those Hollywood reporter shows, but her real power lies in the fact that she used to manage high profile hip hip and r&b stars. After the golden age of hip-hop dried up, she morphed her management agency into this megamedia firm that not only does artist management, but went into the film &tv production biz, a digital company, and an animation house. She's certafiably rich as hell.
I remember Chrissy Lampkin/Lumpkin (whatever that child's name is) speaking out on several situations that were pre-fabbed by Mona for L&HHNY. Things like showing up for filming in a spot where she's supposed to be out enjoying herself with her friends, and the person she most dislikes in their filming group suddenly showing up out of nowhere. We all know that reality show producers are going to pull these stunts and try to manipulate conversations in the best way to serve for drama in these shows, but according to Chrissy, Mona's people would still orchestrate these situations after she requested them not to, knowing how out of control things would get with the course they were on from previous fights. So she & Jim left the show.
And for Mimi's bolded part; the show is co-produced by SHED Media, the folks who also produced the travesty that has become Basketball Wives, so you know if they had the room to, they might try to make this show into the gutter trash of their last few seasons on tv, however; they got such vehement public backlash from the foolery they produced last reality cycle, I suspect that's why they're not going to get too out of control with the ladies on this Exes...God willing.

I didn't blame Prince for anything. All I said was that it was possible that Mayte had a vitamin A deficiency - not that she actually did.
And Prince's diet was well known - unless he was lying about being a vegan. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
OK, G, I hear you, and I get that you generally make rational (and skeptical, which I like) posts, and I appreciate a lot of your input. The vitamin A - animal fat info was very helpful. I re-read your language and I see that it IS neutral - no conclusion that vitamin A deficiency or diet was to "blame." BUT, why say it is possible she had a deficiency given Prince's "dietary proclivities" and not "given Mayte's dietary proclivities"? There's an insinuation that he caused or influenced her behavior, not her decision or even that she may have influenced his "proclivities" at the time. I'm not saying you are insinuating that, but that the language can be so interpreted, as it was by me. And that insinuation is not based on facts that we know. Not picking an argument, it's not a big deal, it's a matter of interpretation. Just saying we/nobody knows for sure what caused her PMM, and we don't really know them as people or their relationship. And I know from your posts that you agree with that. Btw, I also agree with you about Mayte's mom. I don't know her & that situation personally, but her fan enthusiasm + "waving her daughter under his nose" + still living with her daughter and living apart from her own husband = her perspective not to be taken at face value. It appears to be "An Education" type thing.

I have always thought vegan was a Prince thing, since it has been reported that when Mayte was with Tommy she was grilling steaks on that reality show. And Mani became vegetarian during HER time with Prince.
So I think it is the general consensus that JW and vegan is a Prince thing. Part of the price/privelege of being his girl.

- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Also, in one of those books on Prince (I think it was Possessed- but not sure) it told about how those sisters who were Mayte's assitants would sneak her food from T.G.I Fridays- chicken and steak because she was craving meat when pregnant but Prince wouldn't let her eat it.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Don't know why grilling steaks with Tommy, but Mayte is vegetarian or vegan now, and she's all about loving animals and "Forks over Knives" and all that. Mani was a girl when she met Prince, so of course anything she "became" happened during that time, but it doesn't mean he "makes" them do that. She's remains vegetarian or vegan - she was snapped with Eric Benet leaving a vegan restaurant. I guess what I take issue with, and which I did not want to explicitly mention, is those tabloid accounts of him allegedly calling her fat and her allegedly sneaking out to eat some meat and allegedly being mortified of him finding out so cleaning her hands with alcohol. People believe that story part and parcel, and therefore blame him for losing the baby - even though there's no connection b/t the genetic disease and diet, AND the source of that tabloid story are people who are likely extortionists. The criminal investigation they started into the baby's death was malicious - all the info about that type of Pfeiffer syndrome say it's terminal in the first few weeks, as the investigators concluded too. The only reason to be so callous as to accuse an already grieving couple of untimely "killing" their baby is to extort money; so their whole story to the tabloid is suspect, they probably wanted money. There might be bits of fact in there that they embellished, but to accept it wholly is ridiculous. Anyway, my only point is that none of us on this thread know for certain what caused the partial molar pregnancy - it is not scientifically certain it's a vitamin A deficiency, and it is not certain she had such a deficiency anyway despite veganism, and it is not certain that Prince "made" her become vegan and was not her own choice.
Edit - I see from previous post that "here we go again." That's why I didn't not want to bring up that tabloid story and was reluctant to reenter the thread. Carry on ladies. I'm out.

First let me say as I have said before I lost twins after 7 days.I found out I could never have anymore children i'm 33.My problem with Mayte on this show is she's side that extremely passive agressive. To argue with Jessica tonight about her abortion.I'm beginning to think she's not the victim we were lead to believe.Another thing people keep talking about what Prince did to her .She could have left at anytime.Personally I think if there is 2nd season she should quit. After tonight I think the show is going the way bbw.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm sorry after watching this episode i'm over mayte.jesscia's abortion had nothing to do with her.She hung out with jessica and had no problems. Now all oif sudden she's so upset.I'm beginning to see why prince left.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You never know what the producers of this show said to Mayte to push her buttons. Mayte's hurting and like I said before in the other thread that this show is going to bring the worse out of her because her pain that she has suppressed over the years are resurfacing causing her emotions to be all over the place. She is using Jessica as her punching bag because she sees Jessica as weak and she is so frustrated because there is so much she wants to say,but do to whatever Prince has dangling over her head to keep her mouth quiet,it's driving her insane. She is ready to explode and that is why she is showing her frustration out on Jessica. Jessica did really good by not given in to Mayte's game. She knows Mayte is hurting but any negative words would drive her over the edge and calling her "crazy" was the final straw. Was it for the camera? Only the women and the crew will know.
Hopefully, Mayte gets the help she needs. First, find a man who will love you conditionally and then if you see that it's true love then bring a baby in the picture. Growing a child now days are very rough. Children today are little Monsters. They are coming out the wound texting on their cell phone.
Is it the fact that Prince doesn't know how to handle rejection, pain and events in his life that he can't control?
Is it the fact that Mayte is so frustrated even more how Prince treated her during and after her pregnancy?
Only they will know.

Uh- No. In these episodes of Hollywood Exes, Mayte even says that she DOES eat meat. Andrea is the only vegetarian of the group- as they've mentioned a few times. Mayte is no vegetarian now.

Yeah, saw tonight's episode.
Okay, any sane individual could see that this was orchestrated and scripted. As a result, Mayte is the one looking like a total fool AND as the "passive-agressive" type. Yes what she went through (and still SEEMS to be going through) is sad, but what one woman did in her past should not affect Mayte so dramatically. I understand that it appears that Mayte was going through a "moment" since receiving bad news from her fertility doc. and then reliving her past situations with losing her children, but then all of a sudden she's angry with Jessica, not for having an abortion, but with the WAY she so-called non-chalantly spoke of the topic (off camera I guess)? The producers had to do something for a dramatic factor, so they used this. Now Mayte's the one who is appearing to be this selfish, crazy woman with issues. Ahh oh well. In an episode or two, they'll talk and apologize just like nothing happened (like with Jess and Sheree this episode ). I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Whoa, that last episode left me 'befuddled' like in a drunken stupor of some sort. It was like being in shock and when someone comes along and tries to slap you out of it, you remain in shock. It was bananas, because Mayte's behavior was a cross between asking yourself "What the __? Was that real...or for real??" I was a bit taken aback by Mayte's attitude toward Jessica. I couldn't tell if those were real emotions or acting. It was like Mayte turned into Linda Blair's character in 'The Exorcist' movie, without the head spin. Her behavior was just very strange. She was saying things out of the blue that didn't make any sense.
Don't get me wrong, of course it is sad to lose a child, but I don't remember Jessica saying anything that bad in the episode last week, that would make Mayte go off on Jessica like that. She should have pulled Jessica to the side, to have a private talk about whatever Jessica said in the last episode that bothered her. Maybe Mayte needs some serious counseling. Mayte threw a glass and didn't seem to care if the other ladies got hurt by it. I don't know, that part of the show left me feeling like I needed a drink, and I don't drink. Whew, that was some crazy mess

Nope, she isn't. And she WAS grilling steaks on that reality show with Tommy. So she presumably wasn't a vegan/vegetarian THEN, either. I'm glad someone brought it up because I DID see that on the show and immediately thought "hmmmm...", kinda like when I saw one of my favorite artists on line at a hot dog place when they were supposedly "vegan". Not to say that Mayte was like that at all, I just think that she WAS influenced with the best intentions coming from her love of animals, but the diet just didn't work for her. Meh. To each their own.

Obviously, after reading a few of the messages about tonight's episode, I must have missed something.
This is my take on the dinner scene. Jessica was extremely insensitive. She wants others to "feel" for her and the Jose situation, but she can't do the same for others. Who apologizes with a smirk on their face? She was very condescending in how she addressed Mayte. Maybe, it wasn't the right time or place to discuss the grievance, but you don't follow an apology with an insult. Like Mayte said "everyone has issues." And to add to that, how everyone deal with their issues vary. She loss not one, but two babies! Some losses you just can't "get over". I just pray she gets the help that she needs to find some closure.
Well, until next weeks episode

I don't blame Jessica for smirking- I woulda been smirking too. Mayte was acting like she'd lost her GD marbles all of a sudden, and it didn't make no sense! I think Jessica just couldn't help it- it was like , "What the hell is going on?" and it probably was hitting her as almost funny. Mayte looked like a damn nut!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Why is it when saying anything against mayte we don't know if it's fact. But prince the person who was famous long before mayte gets blamed for everything. All I've heard over the years is prince left mayte for mani.Like I said i personally know the pain of chilld loss.Mayte still acted childish tonight.Just my opinion.Inotice now that more has come out about jessica's abortion and mayte and sherree and drea don't look so good now their blaming the show.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
She did, but no one looks their best when they are emotional. Mayte is still hurting over her loss and then to get the news that your options to conceive a child is slim at best...she is allowed to look like a damn nut under the circumstances.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yes I feel for her experience of losing two children. However, yes she did act childish tonight and she's getting a lot of hate on twitter for it. I also noticed that her, drea and sheree are blaming the show and the editing. They do have a point that of course the show wants more drama but I do think Mayte was personalizing it more because she was so vulnerable following the Drs. meeting. Yes Jessica was cavalier about it but maybe that's her coping mechanism and the mask she wears whereas Mayte is much more vulnerable and emotional (I'm a scorpio too so I know how we get).
As an aside she definitely has a temper and I'm sure her and P had some pretty heated arguments especially as she got older. It probably wasn't the healthiest relationship especially after the loss (possibly losses- still not sure if the 2nd baby was P's, don't think she would be able to reveal that).

Tonite's episode was just---ridiculous and left me Its scenes like that--with Mayte getting into it with Jessica--that make people say that reality TV is scripted and fake. Even the earlier scene with Jessica and Sheree "reconciling" with each other looked forced, fake and orchestrated. But tonite's episode was a hot mess. I understand that Mayte is still dealing with the hurt and anger of losing two babies, clearly she hasnt even begun the healing process yet, but going after Jessica the way she did was just so out of left field, irrational and unecessary. Like someone else here said--was that real, or for real? At times it felt surreal lol. I mean, like Mayte couldnt have had this conversation with Jessica in private? She just had to have it in a public restaurant with ALL the girls and in front of the camera crew? Give me a break! Jessica said and even Nicole confirmed that Jessica had reached out to Mayte twice beforehand via text but Mayte didnt respond to her texts. And then Jessica apologizing repeatedly and wanting to move on from the topic and Mayte not satisfied with the apologies and not wanting to let it go but wanting to have it out with Jessica and breaking that glass... Mayte did not come out of this looking good. In fact, none of the ladies look good now. In tonite's episode they all managed to turn into the catty, petty, immature women we see on most reality tv shows. Except for Nicole who was as cool and classy as ever. But Mayte's tirade against Jessica made her look foolish and uh, a bit unstable. Its unfortunate actually, because obviously this is a very sensitive and painful issue that she is still dealing with, and I believe the producers of this show used that to create drama in this episode which is quite exploitive on their part. Reality tv shows may not necessarily be scripted, but they definitely are staged, all for the sake of ratings because drama makes people tune in and watch which is unfortunate Next week's episode should be interesting, but I am disappointed with tonite's episode and disappointed with Mayte's (over) reaction. "and I believe the producers of this show used that to create drama in this episode which is quite exploitive on their part". Are we supposed to feel sorry for her? How long has VH1 done reality shows. She's seen BBW and Love and Hip Hop. I don't know why people are surprised at Mayte's behavior. When you agree to commericially exploit your life for 15 minutes of reality tv fame, I don't want to hear her complain about editing or don't judge her. She got what she wanted. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

I totally agree with this post.I don't get why people think she didn't know what she was getting herself into.Plus this just my opinion I think this show allows her to talk a little without breaking the alleged gag order.Like I said a while back i'm beginning to see way tommy lee called her spoiled.I'm sure she miss her child. But she dosen't have the right to dictate other people life.

I for one am not suprised. Nobody knew/knows the real Mayte, when she was with Prince here image and her words were all things Prince, none of which I bought into. I haven't seen the show, but read the tweets, but it's crazy to associate someone else's life choices into your life. Like I have said before the show started, she seemed to be passive agressive (go figure). My whole point with the Mayte is she is not a victim, she had choices in life and good or bad she chose to stay as gis girlfriend and then chose to get married, she could have left Prince at anytime.
Btw, who gets forced in to becoming a vegetarian, what did he force the food down her throat or something? Choices that we have in life

I tend to agree with your posts. I am pretty sure she is a nice person, just never saw her as this victimized women who had no say in the things that were going on in her life while she was with Prince (who is no angel as we all know). If she did not like his way of life, here's a thought, Leave, and definitely don't marry the guy, even if she was pregnant (rumour)

i will admit i haven't watched this show since episode 4 but i have been following due 2 everyone's comments and thank u 4 that. but one thing i will say as a man, i don't know what's it like 4 a woman 2 lose a child they have carried in their bodies and i feel 4 any woman that has lost a child. however by saying that, conceiving a child is not the only option, mayte could ADOPT a child and there are millions of children/parents in that boat and there is so much love between them that being not the biological parent doesn't really make that much difference.
again i haven't seen any of the shows in a while and don't know all the ins and outs, but it sounds like mayte does need therapy and hopefully she can think of the adoption route man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

"I've learned a big deal about reality. More to say later after I get over the mean tweets". This woman is getting gassed by her female co-stars and followers. I have a newfound respect for Prince. You haven't heard Prince mention her name since they have separated, but when VH1 came callling, the producers identify her as "the ex-wife of Prince", she displays the symbol china (tea cups, plates), shows off his clothes to her cackling girlfriends, makes a big deal about purple everything etc.
