I thought they all looked like dumb blondes for putting that lobster in the bathtub water. How can Mayte be an animal activist and kill a live lobster for some childish purpose to supposedly prove Jessica a hypocrite? Thats hypocritical of Mayte in itself. That PETA ad was just weird that she did also. I haven't watched all of the episodes but Nicole is the only one that seems likeable in my book. Sheree is foine, but shes crazy. To be honest, the least attractive are Mayte and Andrea. But thats just my opinion. Mayte isnt what she used to be in the NPG days. Jessica may be a bit on the wild side but whatever she did, you should NEVER bring up someone having an abortion to prove a point. I stopped advocating their sides the moment they brought up her abortion.

Sheree should be the example because to much is given, much is required. Sheree should not have jumped on Jessica on that point, Sheree already conceeded and didn't order veal.

You know Andrea mentioned "so its OK to kill a baby, but not a roach" at Jessica and Sheree jumped on it like a fly to doo-doo.

But here's my problem with that... when Jessica did tell her business to Andrea initially, did Andrea jump on her then and call her a baby-killer? Sheree obviously stayed friends with said baby-killer, so I am willing to bet they both didn't cuss Jessica out and supported her. ONLY during a time of disagreement does she then use that against Jessica. lol

See, I was on Dre' and Sheree 's side on that until they pulled that foolish crap to make a point. Jessica will NEVER go to church with Sheree now... what poor example and she's the 1st lady of a church! Lawd have mercy...

Had Drea not brought it up, then I'm not too sure if Sheree would had mentioned it....maybe so since Jessica brought up the whole drinking hard liquor subject when the camera is off.

See, Miss Drea knows what she was doing and she did it so skillfully that many may have missed it, just instigating like a PRO.

Drea played the "I am just trying to understand and not judge but.... innocent " then pulls out her spoon and stirs that pot up by tossing in the abortion...

and ol' Sheree just falls right into that mess because she GOTTA let folks know NOT to mess with her, like that was an issue at anytime. lol

Jessica just needs a better backbone and needs to stop being so passive agressive with her little comments unless she's ready to pull Sheree's wig off.

OH!!!

and how they gonna buy lobster and a mofo doesn't set it on ice and then they take it home and put it in fresh water from the faucet???

Uh hello!!! Lobsters live in SALT water and most water from a faucet is not only loaded with clorine and is usually too alkaline which will KILL the hell outta lobsters...

I just like Nicole. lol

I missed about 20 minutes of the last episode, so didn't see much of the lobster part when it was alive, and also didn't see the part about what Andrea said to Jessica. All the girls have their own personalities and will more than likely have their share of fans, but I agree though that Nicole is pretty much likeable;no drama from her yet. She's the peacemaker of the bunch it seems

Girl, you need to watch the recap on VH1 ... nod

Nicole was like zipped Nicole took the "I ain't in this mess with you crazy heffas." She seems to have learned to take what ever Jessica says with a grain of salt.

Mayte needs to stop, she had no business and shouldn't act innocent in that mess. Mayte knew she was talking trash behind Jessica's back. Mayte needs to be quiet and just leave lobsters at the store.... someone call PETA!

and yes, lobsters are distant cousins to roaches... very distant.

People are going to get mad on the org for what i'm about to post. This show is really beginning to show a not so nice side to Mayte.Next weeks episode show mayte upset about jesscia's abortion.Which is a little over the top.I'm beginning to think these episode are about stirring up ratings to get a second season.Don't get me wrong i'm mayte fan but this show is really showing a passive agressive side to her.Drea and sherree are purely messy.Nicole seams to be the only one with class.Just my opinion.

I'm just about to get into the episode now, but just a note about that PETA ad; if you know anything about the organization, shock tactics are their MO: outside of their "I'd Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur" campaign, their PR is usually intended to look gruesome. Go to a PETA protest and you'll likely see naked people on the sidewalk writing around in fake blood and gawd knows what else. So I'm not surprised they had Mayte in bloodied up in a grimy cage to try to get their point across; that's classic PETA.

Nah, no one's mad lol . But what I wil lsay is that the footage for reality shows is generally shot and in the can 4-8 months before the episodes actually air on television, and a lot of what we see in the actual episodes are not sequential events. So in terms of when drama is turned up, that's not in the hands of the show particpants; that's generally editing on behalf of the production company that's producing this show for VH1. While they aren't responsible for the words or actions that come from the ladies, themselves they are responsible for chopping the footage up and building a story arc that rises to a climax, grabs the viewers, gets ratings which translates into high paying advertisers for the network, thus ensuring they can come back for a second season. I'm checking out the Palm Springs episode now---so I can see what the heck happened lol

Ok, so I told myself I wasn’t going to watch this show, and than I did. So far, I haven’t said anything, but after episode 7, I can’t help but chime in.

Sheree-

I don’t think I would have had such a negative response to Sheree in this last episode had I not watched her enforce prying at every meal with the other women. I understand that Sheree considers herself a “good Christian woman,” which is great for her. But it also seems clear that some of the other women are either less traditional in their religious beliefs or may not be religious at all. Yet when she calls them out and makes a big deal about eating before they pry everyone puts their heads down and waits for the food to be blessed- including Jessica. It seems that the women do it as a courtesy to Sheree. Yet in episode 7 Sheree clearly starts shit by automatically talking about how she and Nichole should order some meat. If she knew how Jessica felt about it, she shouldn’t have gone there. I think its bullshit that she thinks that she can force her practices on others and yet is the first rub shit on Jessica for her beliefs. Sheree was being a hypocrite, but Jessica also needs to articulate herself better in those situations.

Jessica-

She has the right to participate in discussions about meat eating as she chooses- she DOES NOT have the right to threaten to shove anything up anyone else’s ass or beat anyone up. She may choose not to eat meat, just as she may choose not to pry before she eats. Same goes for everyone else. I think that the way animals are slaughtered by most slaughterhouses is unjust, yet I still eat the meat. I am living a contradiction, as most people are. Yet I would not allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot do with my body, as Nicole said, I am an adult.

Andrea-

She was just fishing for a blow up and she got just what she wanted. She set that trap between Sheree and Jessica and they were both stupid enough to fall into it.

Mayte-

The whole buy the lobster to prove a point stunt was total bullshit. She can’t run around promoting PETA and in this same breath say that it is ok to murder animals purely to win an argument. If she wants to say that animals make a sacrifice to help her continue to live a physically healthy life, fine, as a native I’ve often given thanks to the earth and animals that provide me sustenance. I would never kill an animal just to win an argument.

Also, from what I have read about her child’s cause of death (which is public record), that particular birth defect is not caused by being a vegetarian. Whichever medical professional fed her that is full of shit. I feel like she was using her child’s death in the way that she was planning to use the lobster, to prove a point.

It looks as if Mayte is going to take after Prince and throw some shit in the next episode. She needs to calm the fuck down; she is no longer a princess. The fact that she has lost a child and dearly wants one does not give her the right to put Jessica down for having an abortion. That is not her business. Mayte has no idea what Jessica’s physical health is like; Jessica also doesn’t look like she’s all that young, or even all that healthy. There are many reasons why she may have had an abortion, but she doesn’t owe Mayte a damn thing. If the loss of her child is still such a problem for her, maybe she needs to go back to therapy and work that out instead of shifting her issues onto other people’s personal decisions.

My final verdict:

-Jessica’s abortion should never have come up; Sheree is fucked up for rubbing that in. If Sheree is hiding the fact that she is drinking hard alcohol when off camera, and doesn’t believe it is right to do so, than she needs to get right with herself instead of hiding behind an aborted fetus.

-Mayte needs to get over herself. She doesn’t need a man, and she doesn’t need a baby, she needs some deep personal healing, the rest will come with time.

-Nicole needs to speak up for what she feels is right and what she feels is wrong. I respect her for not fighting, but sitting there silent in a group full of women that obviously respect you, while someone is being ganged up on, is wrong. She could have helped calm that shit down if she wanted to.

As of this episode I only like Nicole. Sheree is my least favorite and has been for a while. I don’t really care for Jessica or Mayte either.

Hmm I have a different view on the whole situation. While Sheree is a stuffed shirt and irritating, it was clear that Jessica made it a point to pick on Sheree, however, when Andrea brought up the abortion subject, I don't think that was cool. But instead of Jessica laying Andrea out over that, she takes it out on Sheree. Why, I don't know. All of the girls weren't ganging up on Jessica, she put herself in that position when she went on and on preaching about how eating animals meant that you weren't humane or something. Their point was, how can you go around judging folks about eating animals when she sat up there and ate a CRAB cake. She was being a hypocrite and was being called out on it. She can dish it but can't take it when someone calls her out on her shit. I do agree that the abortion topic should had never been brought up, but Jessica shouldn't had ever told them that in the first place. All of that was Jessica's fault. Then she had the audacity to act childish as hell at dinner....you not going to talk to Sheree but you going to eat her food? ohgoon Dumb. Just my twocents.

[Edited 8/2/12 4:59am]

I agree with most of your opinion. I didn't see the part as to who brought up the abortion, but if Jessica did, then she let the cat out of the bag on her own. I have to ask though, how is it Jessica wouldn't kill a roach, but could abort a baby, then attack the girls and threaten them for eating meat because, as Jessica somehow put it 'Aniimals have feelings'. Furthermore, I don't see how it's Jessica's place to tell other people what they shouldn't eat based on her own values. I think that's being a bit selfish on her part. I have to say from the start, the other women have been very patient with Jessica, especially with some of the comments/insults that have come out of her mouth, and the other ladies, just let it pass, as "Oh, that's just Jessica", but it wouldn't be surprising if in future episodes, the other women lose their patience with her. She seems to play victim, once she picks the nerves of some of the other ladies. lol

Now with Sheree, her Christian-like ways are so questionable. lol

Andrea -- love her personality, which makes the show tolerable. Nicole seems to stay cool throughout the show and is apparently the peacemaker.. As far as Mayte, she seems to be a bit shy, and sits back and just observes, but I think Andrea's personality seems to bring out Mayte's, and their friendship seems to compliment one another.

[Edited 8/2/12 6:58am]

I'm pretty much here with you two ladies...

And I will add that I'm not mad at Andrea for asking where does Jessica's respect for life and the taking of it stops. It was a valid question, although it shouldn't have been divulged on camera. I'm neither cavelier nor overly sentimental about women's repoductive rights issues, so I don't think it's a taboo topic to discuss when it comes to talking about the hierarchy of living things and and a creature's right to life (if said topic should happen to come up in debate), and especially with someone who is so didactic and one-sided about her views in the way that Jessica was. coffee

Ok, so I just watched the 7th episode of Hollywood Exes and...damn. unlike other people i get Mayte's point about buying the lobster to prove a point to Jessica. It bothers when people make a big deal about not eating veal or lamb or whatever because they think it's cruel but will stuff their face with fish or shellfish because "they don't feel pain" or "they're not intellegent, reasoning creatures." These animals do feel pain, so what if theyr'e not "that intellegent", which is debatable to me, they still feel pain and would run/crawl/swim away if they had the choice and the chance. so i get the point Mayte was trying to make. However Jessica's abortion never should have been brought up. we don't know why she had an abortion; we don't know the circumstances behind it. it could have been a myriad of reasons that weren' revealed so for Andrea to throw that out was just fucking low class. and her "i'm just trying to understand your reasoning" argument was bullshit. if jessica wants to save a roach let her save a roach. Her saving a roach and her having an abortion don't have a lot to do with one another. and i say this because, again, we don't know the facts about what happened. So Andrea's stock with me has plummeted through the floor. I can't stand that passive aggressive, ace in the hole bullshit.

Nicole is a good friend, but she should have done more to back jessica up, or at least said "ladies, don't gang up on Jessica" or something like that. but so far nicole still proves to be a class act, bowling alley or not smile

Sheree's full of shit. I can't stand that preacher woman bullshit she's pulling. the sight of her face is starting to annoy me. Sheree acts like a lot of born again christians i've known in the past. I would swear they became born again just so they could pass judgement on other people. Sheree, shut the fuck up.

Jessica shouldn't have made that big of a deal about the veal. Sheree said she wouldn't eat it so that should have been the end of it. Jessica should have known, after having to deal with Sheree's bullshit for so long, that you don't preach at people. it doesn't work.

Now for Mayte. She just seemed icky to me in this episode. her attitude seems nasty. I don't know if it's just this episode, or if it's because in the next episode she's upset that jessica had an abortion. That's none of your business. Jessica shouldn't be forced to go through with a pregnancy just because your child died. if it's not a choice you would make then it's not a choice you would make. but don't try to force what's right for you on someone else. That's my problem with Sheree. So for this, Mayte has dimmed in my eyes a bit.

I am a supporter of a woman's right to choose as well, but I don't get the attacks against Andrea. If Jessica took it upon herself to share that info with someone she just met, then maybe that is a lesson for her to learn to keep your private business, private. Not saying any of the ladies had a right to 'out' her, but they did have a right to question her on her beliefs about abortion vs not killing an animal or insect. However, like you, I see it as a valid question, because of the stance Jessica took with the ladies about 'animals having feelings' and her choice to not eat meat. If that is Jessica's choice to be a vegetarian/vegan, then she shouldn't force that on the other ladies by threatening to act offensively if they went against her non-meat beliefs. I thought that was childish behavior, and yes, although if it's true she had an abortion, then that is her personal choice, but it does come off contradictive, when you claim you don't like 'killing animals' or 'living things', but support abortion. So I could see how that could confuse anyone. Anyway, to each their own with their opinion on this. shrug lol

I watched this episode again and I must disagree with the bolded... they are all adults and call eachother "friends" and it is betrayal of trust when a person uses the infornmation gained from that friendship against you at any time.

Andrea posed a ganeral statement:

"What about the hierarchy of life? What about babies and your stance on abortion in comparison to crustacea?"

this was not a good stance to take, some may see it as fair, I see it as fight mongering because of the person ( Jessica being all emotional anyways and had recent abortion before the trip) this question was aimed at. It was EVIL and insensitive to use it as a counterpoint during a conversation about crustacea and insects and veal... when you add in those facts about Jessica.

Now Sheree put it out there and said :

"Yeah YOU had an abortion what about that?!"

Sheree put the bizness out there for the world to see making the betrayal complete. She personalized the statement to Jessica.

There is a better way to make your argument that to take such a low blow. You never should kick someone when they are down. That type of question is one that only dredges up pain and animosity if the woman had been through that struggle. You lose ground in an argument when someone resorts to juvenile tactics to prove a point.

Andrea had NO right, it was insensitive and evil, plain and simple.

I was actually siding with Andrea and Sheree up until that tacky maneuver that instigators usually make to start a fight, which is exactly what Andrea did. Andrea got to see her fight and in classic instigator mode right after the blow up, proclaimed:

"What? Why did THAT happen? I only wanted to ask about the hiearchy of life!"

Her false shocked expression isn't fooling me, Andrea you are no fool and you knew exactly what you did, she should own up to her part in all this.

Andrea is just stirring the pot and having a good ol' time with it. Sheree is a dumbass for falling into it and Mayte needs to sit down and stop projecting her personal struggles on Jessica.

This is why Andrea is wrong, and that comment was wrong, because it was not to discuss a topic in an unbiased way, but to hurt and cause pain knowingly to a person in order to feel superior by striking her in the worst way possible.

There are some things as friends that you should never cross the line on because it becomes a betrayal of trust IMHO.

Hey, it's cool to disagree, and I'm certainly not angry that you stand by your opinion, no problem, but if Sheree actually said it, then she should be the one the fingers should be pointed at, at least Andrea didn't actually say 'Hey you had an abortion', but Sheree did. How anyone here feels about it, won't get any of the ladies bumped off the show, no matter how pissed off anyone is at Andrea or Sheree, so no use for us stressing over it. lol

I can sit down with a room full of adult women, and share private info, and base it on the fact they are all adults, women that can relate to my situation, but it doesn't guarantee what I share with them, will not leave the room. People have to be careful that not everyone is your friend, regardless if these ladies are adult women. It doesn't guarantee they won't go running behind each others' backs sharing the others' secrets. It's not hard to tell if they don't do that anyway behind the scenes, just based on which ones share friendships with one another. At the end of the day, they all entered into this show knowing something about their private life may be revealed, even if they don't want it to, and when you sign up for your life to be put on public display, sometimes unexpected info gets revealed. It also looks like in the next episode, the abortion issue will be touched on again, when they showed the coming attractions for the next episode, where it shows Mayte being angry at Jessica for having an abortion, even though the choice wasn't Mayte's, but Jessica's, so don't know if the producers want these ladies to 'push' this issue to keep the drama going, as Jessica could have demanded that personal issuer not be brought up or discussed after the last episode, but who knows what gets decided behind the scenes. It sure succeeded in being discussed outside the show, like we're doing on this thread.

Again, I am not saying it was right for that personal issue to be revealed specifically about Jessica, but I am saying there is nothing wrong with asking a valid question regarding someone's views on abortion.

Anyway, it is what it is. So much for entertainment.

you know Andrea mentioned "so its OK to kill a baby, but not a roach" at Jessica and Sheree jumped on it like a fly to doo-doo. But here's my problem with that... when Jessica did tell her business to Andrea initially, did Andrea jump on her then and call her a baby-killer? Sheree obviously stayed friends with said baby-killer, so I am willing to bet they both didn't cuss Jessica out and supported her. ONLY during a time of disagreement does she then use that against Jessica. lol

You know, I really do like Andrea... I really do. But truthfully, I like Andrea IN SPITE of her skeletons in her closet. What Jessica did to HER body and her baby to was her own business, what R Kelly was video taped doing to OTHER PEOPLE'S babies... and Andrea was there the during that time period.... well I just shake my head. But I still like the girl, I really do. but I'm just saying when you live in glass houses.. don't throw stones.

You don' t want to be judge for your actions or non actions... don't you judge anyone else.

Okay, so I didn't see that part when Andrea hinted around the abortion issue with that comment, because I was on the phone at the time, but I can't make sense of the 'abortion vs keeping a roach alive?' with Jessica. Smh. It's like asking which one would you choose? I'm baffled by the comparison. I say kill the nasty roach and put it out to pasture.

I still think Jessica shouldn't have shared something so private with people she just met, whether she was having 'a moment of woman talk' or not with Andrea about it behind the cameras. Oh and by the way, lol I doubt Jessica had any intention of going to church with Sheree--drinking alcohol out of one side of her mouth-and preaching bible verses out of the other side. Sheree speaks out two sides of her mouth and seems to create her own religious restrictions by the minute. I had to laugh when she said it was time for her to spend some quite/calm time with the ladies, while not mentioning the same about her husband.

Now about lobster, can't stand the smell of it. By the way, I heard lobsters are within the cockroach family, barf not sure how true that is, but hey to each their own, just not for me. lol

Ohh, you hit it ON THE HEAD about Sheree. I feel the same way. I had to ask about the alcohol... the flashy earrings and heavy makeup, the participating in the belly dancing.. not being by her husband's side and even trying to work out a compromise....

I am not saying to be a christian you can't do the above things... but what I am saying is that if you get that particular with about an individual's walk with Christ... you better be ready to endure the same scrutiny.

Sheree comes across as someone judgemental and sneaky. She is the girl in high school who behind the scenes encourages the Plain Jane to put out because "every body does it... you better get with the times".. and then when Plain Jane gets pregnant... Sheree is the first to point fingers and talk about her like a dog because Sheree herself is Miss Innocent. innocent

Okay- My two cents, first of all, I agree with everything Paintedlady said above- Not just because I like Paintedlady but because it is so true- I have a lady at work named Natalie and she is a Christian and she never judges, she only lets you know that she is doing her best as a Christian and she is there for you- Atheists go in her office and shut the door for some Christian counseling from time to time because she is non judgmental and basically, not full of shit (ala' Sheree)

Okay, but another thing: I'm guessing (now that I've seen the episode) that Mayte lost the other baby when she was with Prince because she says it was due to being a vegan (which I think sounds hokey) but anyway, with Prince, there was a big show of their vegetarianism and when she did that documentary with scumbag Tommy Lee she was outside grilling up some steaks on the grill- I remember because when she was grilling them and screaming about "OH! I've burnt the steaks!" I was like, ? Because I'd thought she was a vegetarian..... anyway, that's what I'm thinking....

I think you are on the right timeline. neutral sad

So that is probably 2 babies Mayte lost with Prince.

Mole pregnancies... complete and partials are believed to be due to a genetic accident during the time of conception. In partial mole pregancies, the egg is fertilized with 2 sperms at the same time. Normal conception, the NANOSECOND an egg is pierced by the head of the sperm, a biological reaction occurs so that the wall of that egg is impervious to all other sperms.

so the fertilized egg has 23 chomosones from mom and 23 from dad. Mayte's 2nd pregnancy the egg had 23 from mom and 46!!!!!! from dad. == <---- not compatible with life.

There are millions of people who are vegans for religious reasons in India... and the prevalence of mole pregnancies are not elevated in that country.

Southeast Asia, the Phillipines, and Mexico has a some of the highest rates.

So it is sad because... well, I just think there will be no Prince Jr. sad

I really enjoyed the episode aired the other night. Jessica doesn't know when to quit. She also knows how to push Sheree's buttons....but I did think it was a little low for her to bring up the abortion.

It looks like Mayte is gonna get in Jessica's ass next week. Mayte seems like a nice and friendly woman but I wondered if she had that "fiery" side when she was married to our boy...(?)

And I thought I would never type this but I'm really starting to like Andrea. Her whole vibe is a trip and she's comic relief in this series. I can tell she's not taking any of this too seriously.

@paintedlady.Yes pretty much. I just think that Jessica could have asked the producers to leave that out of the show to avoid a backlash from some viewers. who are against that type of thing, with so many nutters out there. Both Andrea and Jessica kind of put themselves in that type of position and the producers certainly don't care as long as the ratings are good.

I believe in trust and confidentiality and if a friend shares a private matter with me, what they share with me will not leave the room. That is, what being a true friend is all about. I jus think Jessica should have kept that private m
matter. private especially if she knew she was going to be on a reality show with these women as nothing seems to stay private on those shows.

Yes, she is actually saving the show, because of her personality. I could see her having her own spinoff as well, and Bravo following how she trains dancers. Maybe her clientele will build up because of the show. i thought the funniest moment was when she played her alter ego, I think she called her 'Merlene' or something like that. She had me laughing when she went into character. lol and her punchlines and phrases steal the show.

All Scorpios have fiery sides- they just remain hidden until unearthed: but it usually takes a bad situation to make that come about and then, well...it's not exactly pretty. Scorpios are actually quite nice and friendly...until they're not. But you generally have to come for them pretty hard and strong (in a bad way) before they just get it all over with and chop you off at the knees. lol

...that's why I am curious to know what Jessica said to set Mayte off. If this week's episode was any indication, Jessica seems to have a penchant for jabbing others and picking at a sore topic like a newly formed scab.

Not exactly a smart thing to do is you are one who's mouth likes to write checks that your ass can't cash hmmm

My guess would be that it's more about the abortion conversation, UNLESS Jessica is judging her on something else we all have yet to know.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
