Is that the long version? The long version is really bad. When he's not talking he is fidgeting and at a couple points he rudely starts playing the guitar or fine tuning it while others are talking. I've been around a lot of tweakers and his behavior reminded me of those people.
I'm sure I am wrong---I hope I am. Space for sale...

At Motown the Jackson brothers were often billed as "Jackson 5ive". Jimmy Jam himself said that is where they got "Original 7ven" from.
On 'The Original 7ven' "That's exactly what we are," said Lewis, adding that they discussed using "the Tyme" and other names. "There's been a lot of people who have been in The Time. We are the only original seven." According to Jam, the spelling is a takeoff on when Michael Jackson and his brothers called themselves "The Jackson 5ive." But he understands if fans are confused. "People can call us the Time if they want," he said. "We just can't call ourselves that." [Edited 12/17/11 11:46am] You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

No one knows what goes on behind closed doors...is it really nescesary 2 totally assasinate his character ?!! The Time / 07 are my favourite band & i've loved the fella's for over 25 yrs (majority of my life) I was very very happy/excited with news of them getting back together /new cd / tour etc...so yes , i'm not happy bout this either...BUT i'm NOT going 2 say spitefull & mean things about people (& a situation) I DONT ACTUALLY KNOW PERSONALY... the part no one is commenting on is when jj basically said if he stayed they may lose their friendship... Some if not most of this thread has left a bad taste in my mouth , some of u even seem gleefull with your nasty mean spirited so called jokes "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

Two weeks ago Jesse johnson was a guitar god to the org and today he's an alleged druggie and an egomaniac! People are like wolves on here sometimes waiting for the next piece of raw meat to devour.
When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I tend 2 agree w/U SoulAlive. When I saw them in MPLS, the show was AWESOME, but 95% classics!!! The only NEW stuff the did was "Strawberry Lake (and only as an intro)" and "Trendin' ". If ur new stuff is as crackin' as theirs, then what's w/all this old sh*t???? And by watchin' the documentary U can tell that Morris more so than Jesse wants 2 give Prince THA BIZNESS ]over the name-change thing......

I think that's part of the problem too......

Well as dissappointed as I am. I also feel I can't say much until I know the whole story. Sort of why I withheld commenting on the name change thing because I have yet to know what Prince's reasonings were and the O7 never mentioned it. Until I find out both sides, I'm not going to assassinate Jesse's character whether he has a big ego or not. I think as fans we are selfish in expecting someone to stay in a situation they hate. How would anyone like someone to demand that of you? Just a thought. I do agree that this puts a huge damper on the name. Prince must be laughing his butt off.

The long version's link should actually be on the page of this link.
I hope y'all are wrong too about him on that shit. I just originally thought he was just excited and bursting with enthusiasm and that that was why he was the one always talkin' and movin' and playin' and shit.

Thank you honestman ! I was thinking the same thing...u kno , i've seen many disgusting (/disturbing/sexist/ignorant/perverse etc etc etc)things on the org but 4 some reason this is the first time i've responded 2 the shit . If jesse is in a bad way then i'm sure all these pages really helped ! I think a lot of the reaction here comes from being hurt over his leaving the band before things could REALLY get started. We waited over 20 years for a new album from these guys, and the album hasn't even been out for 2 months and already he's bailing on the group and their fans. He's still one of the fiercest guitars players, period, but if there is any so-called "devouring", it's probably just a knee-jerk reaction to feeling left high and dry yet again by JJ.

Don't twist things. I thought that something was up in the video immediately. It wasn't until *he* started to let his crazy shine via his FB page that I brought it up. The ownership is his and his alone. Space for sale...

He's STILL a guitar god to me. I've already praised him twice in my comments for his work on the CD, and in shows. However, I do think it's sad that the reunion was so short lived.

very interesting..in a lot of ways, not just concerning Jesse (but hearing things fomr their mouths regarding Prince, Morris' all to quiet demeanor etc)...I mean all the things Jesse is stating about family too...its almost like when you have beef with someone and you finally get back together and talk and OVERDO the love...saying things that are kind of more than you probably feel out of embarrassment for the past or something.....
but to go from that interview to saying 'I gots ta go..Morris and Prince are cool doe..but later for yall etc'....I dont know "Climb in my fur."

It was funny hearing them tell old stories. The funniest part was at 27:00 and Jerome starts talking about the "most inevitable" and Jessie says, "The who?" "What happened?" :lol Those brothers have known each other for a long time. I wish the best for all of them. They're cool. Jessie's expressing his feelings like most people do on their facebook profile. ...bing ain't lie.

I notice that to .But choose not to address it here.Just enjoyed his honesty.I know he has a past that has been kept quiet. He seems like a tortured soul. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

Could be. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what the fellas have to say about the future of the band, and how Jesse's departure will be handled by them, if he doesn't return to the group.

Jesse has had erratic behavior in the past and there was rumors of him taking drugs so who knows. Im not implying that drugs had anything to do with him leaving the OG's im just saying that something doesn't seem quite right. Jesse is eccentric so his Facebook posts and the interviews might just be a part of that. Either way i wish him and The Time the best and im highly disappointed. Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

He also had that gun to his head episode in the early 90's...relationship issues enduced. I vaguely remember him making not light of the incident, but saying it was an act due to a big argument with his s.o. However, who does that? "Climb in my fur."

let me just throw this out there and see what y'all say about this
okay morris still tours as morris day and the time and basically is doing what the O7 have done in their 2 gigs.
if morris was 2 "replace' the time with the 07 plus say tori on guitar, couldn't they technically still tour under the name morris day and the time?
when they did the vegas shows, they were known as the time man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Im thinking the reason Day was allowed to use the "..and The Time" moniker was becasue Jimmy, Terry, and Jesse were not involved. Im thinking he has something against so called "turn coats" of back in the day put something in his craw possibly. So as long as those folks were not involved, then everything was cool. But now ...uh uh. Not with most of them back in the fold again. Just a theory. "Climb in my fur."

You're welcome. I also think "Original 7ven" is easier to search for than "Original 7". Just like "The Beatles" is easier than "The Beetles". "Original 7" pretty generic, just like "The Time", "The Family", "The Cars", and "The Eagles". He's still a guitar god to me too, and if I don't like what he did I'm gonna say so. He backed out of a commitment and let a lot of people down at a crucial time and I'm not amused. His increasingly bizarre posts on fb are troubling too.
Now, if dude is genuinely troubled I would take that into consideration and suggest he get some help to cope with whatever but I stand by my statement that what he did was foul.
