Well, I can understand how you feel about that, as there can be an advantage/disadvantage on how people choose to use FB. some use it for gaining clients/customers for some type of business; recruiting for social organizations;connect with others in the arts/music field; share/exchange educational info, and the list goes on. Also, some use it to stay in touch with friends/family, but then you have the ugly side of it where some use FB, myspace, websites, etc., to hijack other peoples' FB pages or other social networking sites like for revenge/attack/discredit someone's reputation/cry out for help/stalking people, etc.. I'm sure we've all seen a lot of nuts out there doing this all over the internet on a global basis. I guess you can say the latest, social networking sites can have its advantages/disadvantages as well as the internet as a whole. shrug

Anyway, at this point, all one can choose to do is wish the best for Jesse.

Oh you don't have to have an FB page to view an FB page that the individual doesn't have set as private, because I don't have an FB page. When an individual has an FB page they keep public, then they leave it open for everyone to see what's written on it. He can easily set it to private for just the friends on his page to see, if he didn't want everyone to see it, but he's a musician, so it's likely he chooses to keep the page public.

Thankies! I avoid fb and twitter like the plague, lol

I think I still have that myspace page my son made for me though.

Apparently it seems JJ's comments is in reference to the Chinese Horoscope's description of how JJ sees or defines his personality, desires and goals as a musician. Seems he's saying he works better alone compared to working with others as a group, and would rather keep move forward and not feeling 'stuck' within a group, that may not see 'eye to eye' with his creative ideas musically for the group, so he would rather leave the group, while they're still friends, in order to pursue his own career, as a musician, including taking control of the direction he wants to take his music career. Seems he's basically saying that as a musician he works better alone, but in spirit isn't alone on a personal basis. That's what I seem to get from that comment.

Also, since Alan Leeds posted on JJ's page, maybe he reached out to him in some way.

Looks like you're doing a pretty good job sis...we might not need google after all. biggrin

I still wonder why he suddenly decided all of this after he made a commitment to the O7? Since he's so deep and introspective, one would think he knew these things about himself already.

Sad to say, relationships with other people are often strained. They are quite moody and can be too outspoken.

They are often self-centered, but can be quite brave when the situation calls for it. On the other hand, Rooster People are quite talented and capable. They are always devoted to their work and have a reputation for being the hardest of workers.

Rooster People are deep thinkers and are pioneers in spirit. They can experience the greatest of joy in complete solitude. Even though often alone, they rarely experience loneliness.

Instead, they enjoy their own company and feel solitude helps them in their quest after knowledge.

That to my brotha. But his comments have been very upfront & brutally honest lately on fb. I don't look at it as him rambling on or tweeking like someone else said here(which is an insult to him). Jesse is a musical genius and they have different ways of expressing themselves than the average person. Which is why I undersatnd & identify with him & Prince so well.

My response to Jesse:

Sometimes you gotta deal with 7ven Roosters when you expected at least 3 chickens. Chickens belong in Skillets....Roosters should be on tour with a full set list of full songs...no medleys or short cuts. Some talented Roosters hang in the balance....and an industry full of dead chicken heads suffers...as the real music is dying a premature death.

Yeah, my response is about as crazy as Jesse's comments, but all in good fun. I think Jesse is fine, and just drained from revisiting the same things from the past that didn't work out then, and probably won't work now. Still, I hope the 07 can somehow avoid being 06.

Jesse's a great but derivative guitar player. Not much of a songwriter and a weak singer. Genius, my ass.

If I was another member of the O7, I'd be seriously pissed off with him right now. Hard for them to still use that name now. He does to seem be flakey as hell.

Well let me c u sit down & write a song like....

"Nights Like This"

(Produced, Written, & arranged By Jesse Johnson)

Shoo be doop doo.....

I could feel
That it was over
Your love for me
Diminished slowly

Why couldn't you tell me
You had a lover on your mind
It's no way to treat me
When you know how
I feel inside

I could not hide the
Way I felt last night
Tears I cried

My love for you
I can't deny
No, no, no....

Nights like this I wish
That raindrops would fall
Yes, I do, yeah, yeah
Nights like this I wish
That raindrops would fall

Girl, I know
What's been going on
You got another lover
And you got it going strong

I been walking round town
With a smile on my face
Trying to fight the hurt
Trying to hide the shame, baby

I cannot cry no more
Now I realise
I was too blind, baby

Being the fool in love
You know it aint right, girl
If you really wanna
Be happy, baby

Nights like this I wish
That raindrops would fall
Oh, how I wish raindrops
Would fall on my face, baby
Nights like this I wish
That raindrops would fall
Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah

Nights like this I wish
(Rain, rain, rain, yeah)
That raindrops would fall
(Rain down my face, baby)
Nights like this I wish
That raindrops would fall
Baby, yeah, yeah, yeah

Tears I've cried

I could feel when everything
Was not too real
Inside, I cried
To win your love
You know I tried

Nights like this I wish
(Come on, come on)
That raindrops would fall
(Keep rain falling down
On my face, baby)

Nights like this I wish
That raindrops would fall
(Come on, come on, yeah)
Nights like this I wish
That raindrops would fall
Members don't see this message
(Let then fall, baby)

Nights like this I wish
That raindrops would fall....

i dont blame him for leaving. He did it. It didnt sell as noone obviously cares about the time anymore except for 9700 people which is pitiful sales. The band does not want to tour or play the new stuff. Hell, I wouldnt want to stay either. He wants to tour and play and if the Time won't, do it with Dangelo!! Go head Jesse!!

It's the record label's job to promote a record, otherwise no one knows it's out there to buy. They're the ones who buy ads in magazines or make TV commercials to let people know there's a record. They also do the promo (aka payola) to radio stations. If the promo department is not doing their job, that isn't the band's fault. Now if the O7 printed up their album themselves and released it independently, then it is up to them to do all the promo. The O7 were on a small label, distributed by Time-Life/Warners. Time-Life specializes in hit compilations sold on infomercials, not new release music. As far as getting on the radio they could have done the formula Carlos Santana and other older acts did, which is to get young popular acts or rappers on their album. Which is probably what would happened if they signed to Def Jam, which they were rumored to be doing at one point. It's not like Verbal Penatration did any big business either. So sales couldn't have been Jesse's excuse. From what I understand, hardly anyone gets big album sales today, not even some of the current popular acts. They just have radio hits.

As far as concerts are concerned, from recent interviews, it seems Terry Lewis is the 'manager' of the group. They said Terry takes care of ordinary business, but if there's a big decision, there is a band meeting. So it's supposed to be both the record label and the manager doing things to get the group out there, not just the group in itself.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

If his beef is that they're not playing enough new material then he's right. However, like I said on the other thread, the thing with a reunion is you need to re-establish your brand and gradually acquaint the audience with the new stuff. It's not something that happens instantly especially when we're talking about 20 years between releases and I would think Jesse would have known that going in.

D'Angelo's track record is even worse so how is that a viable option?

I agree that there shouldn't be any double standards but Prince's long track record of silliness and my own disappointment aside, I still feel that Jesse's decision is a huge mistake and I hope that he reconsiders.

I feel as though I'm lowering my self values to address this awful, horrible lie/rumor. So I will address this subject once and only once: I have never indulged, advecated the use, or even had the slightest curiosity about personally using drugs. It's incredibley irresponsible to spread rumors of such a nature or any kind for that matter about anyone. It's hurtful, it's disrespectful, it's extremely built on the foundation of cowardice, and more importantly, it minamises the true struggles as well as under appreciates those that have fought the fight and have over come their sever chemical addictions.

As far as me not playing between a certain time, there wasn't a set time for me to play my guitar. This entire week, including yesterday was intirely and tirelessly dedicated to the children and their respective families. What the children/families needed most from all involved; The Young Creator, (and friends i.e. me included) was to deliver on gifts, food, appreciation of their struggles, and to know some one cares, and that my rude ass friends, we did that till we all shed tears of joy!!!!!!

So I ask again with all do respect, for those have nothing positive or beautiful to add to any of our lives, meaning us who dig what positives we together bring to this sight do us all a huge, huge favor and stay the fuck off this sight. We are all grown and I'm sure for the most part know about all the ugliness that happens ever fucking day in the world. So I personally love it when I read comments that are beautiful, full of excitement, and inspiring to me.

So please take that self important comment bull some where else, because it's not wanted or needed here. I also would like to apologize if I offended you because like I sang before: " I beg your pardon I didn't mean you, I'll take the blame you don't stand accuse" (Black In America)
P.S.
Everything we provided including gifts, prizes, food, and performing,
we did all for the love of it. Freeeeeee!

(Hey Hector the other song was "Maggot Brain" and as Hector will testify, I only drink French Press Coffee and damn Ra Pour's coffee is amazing!)

Bingo again. He is repsonding to fools on his fb.

BTW I posted a comment asking if he was okay becasue his previous writings were a bit disturbing and veiled. It was erased. So no negativity for Jesse even if it comnes form a place of concern. If folks are making statements about Jesse and drug use, address it and keep it movin. It isnt like he (and Leeds) are being so forthcoming anyways. These comments and many others are to be expected when you get news of this caliber for a project of O7 caliber. I mean really now: folks are cool with Jesse and his rooster cogburn analogies etc but clown when Prince does his Prince speak and such.

Again..double standards.
