Jesse clearly has issues. After his Atlanta gig last year, he sat by the stage and told old stories about when he first met Prince. Sure it was a good story and interesting and what we enjoyed hearing but it seems like he wants to the glory days and not living in the realities of the present.

We don't know what went down but he's essentially kiling the reunion, considering the name, The Original 7ven.

Just listening to the more recent interviews, it seemed clear to me the band had pretty much made no commitments to do anything in 2012 beyond a loose aggreement for all members to leave some time open, should the right offer come through. My guess is JJ was frustrated by the lack of any real decision making. It's just my opinion but the guys seemed to lack direction. It's like they needed a real a-hole, dictator type to get everyone in line and get things moving.

Maybe Jesse ought to have something to fall back on in case the D'Angelo thing doesn't happen or the tour cut short. I don't think the band should change their name again, in case they work things out with Jesse to see if he will agree to continue working with the fellas when they need him for a show or tour.

See, this is why he shouldn't be so quick to put a knife in his longtime friends' backs. It's not like Jesse has reached Prince status as a musician. If this thing with D'Angelo doesn't work or get off to a start for that matter, then he'll be a loner alright, but something tells me the guys will still take him back.

If he walked away from this group of longtime friends, while they just reunited as a new group, and left them hanging in the dust who is to say Jesse wouldn't do it to other musicians he agrees to collaborate with? What other musicians are going to trust that he'll stick around for the long haul and not walk away in the middle of a show or before the show gets started? I think Jesse just put both his feet up his own ass, and didn't think this whole thing through thoroughly before walking away. I think if that was his plan, he should have just let the guys get together and announce Jesse's departure, instead of posting it on FB or maybe the fellas just kicked his ass out and he ran to FB before they had a chance to tell their side of the story. Who knows? We'll have to wait and see what the other guys in the OG7 have to say about this.

I don't know what kind of record deal the group has, but if Jesse is under contract to do several albums, the label can hold Jesse to it or sue if they choose to. Record labels have done this to other groups who have broken up or had members leave.
