How long is it going 2 take 4 someone 2 blame Prince?

^ You're clearly not reading this thread, someone has already asked this and he has already been blamed much earlier...!

Lol.......I'm not surprised.

..and even though Jesse already stated clearly in his message, the specific reason he wants to leave the group, which has nothing to do with Prince.

From his Facebook:

From Jesse's recent post it sounds like he's done regardless of whatever any other members have to say about the situation.
I wish him the best on his future plans.

me neither....
he was voted out of the band back in the Pandemonium / Graffiti Bridge days
i've always felt Jesse was the 'odd man out' in THE TIME - a little detatched from the others - both creatively and stylistically.
it's killed the original seven so what now for morris, jimmy, terry, jellybean, monte and jerome? holding something together that is falling apart

I know Jellybean is touring with Fdeluxe in Europe starting next month. Morris has supposedly got gig lined up till February with the 'Morris Day & The Time' line-up. As for the others, ???. This will go right to the hearts of those who blame Prince for everything and wanted O7 to unite against him....OH WELL!!
This is sad because I felt Jesse's solo had a huge impact on many of the songs. Won't be the same. This is one helluva cd and I still got it on repeat. I was hoping to have my dreams fulfilled and see all the original members live on stage. I'll still keep hoping it will still happen.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I think that's quite touching...he sounds a bit like Prince in that way....maybe that's why they argue...because they are similar..
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yep.
Did he not know this before he agreed to a reunion?
F*cking jackass! Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

You are hiariously predictable in your posts. [Edited 12/15/11 15:38pm]

Maybe he read the comments on the org. Now even though he said there's more important things in the world to be concerned about, he was the one who used FB to express his feelings about leaving the group, so I'm sure he also expected responses to his comment. Oh well, wish him well in whatever he chooses to do 'alone'. What remains to be seen, is how the rest of the OG7 minus 1, will deal with this. [Edited 12/15/11 16:33pm]

People started asking what was up on O7 posts on their FB page and on his page too. I guess this was the response he felt appropriate. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

bolded part.......YEP!!!!! Look @ His Facebook page!!!!! D'Angelo reportedly has Pino Paladino back on Bass (from the Voodoo era), and Chris "Daddy" Dave on Drums. CAN U IMAGINE if INDEED He got Jesse on Guitar??? Daaaaaaaaaamn!!!!!

I have to agree something did seem strange when Jesse recently announced that he was considering touring with D’angelo. I was like he is spreading himself to thin. Now I know why. He had already left the band. Then I heard an interview with him recently on the radio & he never mentioned the band members of The 07ven.He did say he enjoyed playing The Times songs live. So maybe he will do a Prince & take over the songs 4 himself in his own shows.
Its sad all the preparation that went in2 this new project 07ven. I always thought it was doomed from the start since Prince wouldn’t ok the name. It just didn’t feel right to me. But I’m glad I was able 2 c there first per4mance here in LA. Hope they can work things out though. They can’t go on without him. The new name won’t work. The album is fire to… But Jesse was always the highlight in there reunion shows when they let him do his songs. This just proves that too much talent in one group just doesn't work. Too many egos. I bet Prince is having the last laugh now....
will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I was actually just kidding about him reading comments on the org yes it only makes sense he responds to his FB friends' questions about what he expressed about leaving the group. Maybe he should just stick to doing his own thing and not obligate himself to any group. Maybe his true desire is to achieve success for his guitar-playing skills, as a lone musician with a household name, not attached to any particular group.
We shall see. [Edited 12/15/11 16:51pm]

Jesse seems kind of like the George Harrison/Mike Nesmith of the group. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Dr. Funkenberry posted it as well. Words from Jesse just a tidbit different from how the OP posted it here, but basically the same. I just noticed in the promo pic of the OG7, Jesse was the only one not raising his wrist to look at his watch. I guess he was always the rebellious one in the group. (Lawd I have way too much time on my hands today)

Selfish move if you ask me.
He should have stuck it out for the fans.
I can't blame him though, the new songs don't really suit him and I doubt he had much input behind the album.
You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

Me too. I pulled out Bare My Naked Soul this weekend.

I'd like to bear his naked ass and kick it! [Edited 12/15/11 18:13pm] Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Noooooo......
This time comes when we have to do things for ourselves and not for anyone else. My feeling is Jesse was not doing the reunion for himself but for fans.
i'll look forward to seeing him in chicago, hopefully.

You are right of course but I am sooo mad at him! Please smack him for me if you see him... Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

In the late 1990's, all 4 Monkees reunited (after Mike had turned down such tours over the years) and recorded an album called Justus. They also filmed a TV special and went on a tour. They toured Europe, but when the tour was headed to the US, Mike up and quit with no explanation. So the others continued as a trio. They weren't pleased.
