But seriously, he sounds cool and sincere.
Besides, he never stole a $100 dollars from me for a CD never sent me.
Besides we talk shit about Prince, but everyone knows even Bart still loves him.

I have no problem owning that I was the first to bring up my observations based on *his* behavior during the interview and I'm glad he cleared it up. Yet, stop acting irratic during interviews and stop posting crazy gobbly gooo on FB and people won't start worrying about you.
And if your a public figure, stop acting shocked when people question your public crazyness. Shoot, because of my public advocacy work, I too get people starting rumors and asking questions and you know it? It's part of the job and I have to just deal. So Jesse, deal! Dig? Space for sale...

I agree. And what you posted about his erratic musings wasn't disrespectful etc. You simply spoke about it and even stated concern.
What is odd to me si in the interviews and dvd, he is forthright (and outspoken) without using veiled metaphors etc. How come on a fb page he becomes all enigmatic and mysterious in hios owrdings? Im not against jesse, I love him more than most folks here profess too , trust. His playing and style were on the spot for me and to me even now. Having him, Jam, and terry together on one reelase was manna from heaven to me. So my meandering thoughts on this ios not trying to disrespect Jesse but maybe an indictment of us here, but however, if you are going to put shit on FB in the manmnner he has, you open yourself for criticsm, concern, conjecture, ...and clowning. Jesse Johnson is not above reproach. Yall know how we do it "Climb in my fur."

I think its funny that they would rather break up than actually work to sell their album. Not surprised. Lets face it, without Prince we now see what it is.

prince doesn't even 'sell" his own albums so regardless of whether prince got invovled or not, hopefully the time will continue in some form or fashion man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

They are done. Its obvious they have already stopped updating and promoting this project. I am sure that this validates the reason Prince had for not backing this as they obvious were not serious to follow through. Jesse...what a schmuck!! Its hilarious to me because he has always thought he was bigger than what he is. I wish the Time would just replace him with Tori because lets face it, they don't need Jesse at all. Tori is just as good and can fill in nicely. But.. that is wishful thinking as the O7 is now completely dead. R.I.P. I guess its back to the "Morris Day and the Time" touring festival days for ol Morris!!

wait wait wait, so ur saying it's up 2 the fans 2 be his PR dept now? we're the ones that have 2 send tracks to the radio station, create videos, go into record stores and post flyers?
his last album wasn't even "available" in the states ..a year later and still no 20ten in the stores
wow and what is our fee for doing his promotional work? man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

It's useless if he's releasing the albums through newspaper outlets in some European countries and no one else can afford it.

That's Prince's job or his record company and promo department. The Beatles broke up in 1970 and still outsell Prince today. They also get written up in magazines a lot and continue to have books put out about them. Prince was never a really big mainstream seller other than Purple Rain and maybe 1999. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. That is why we as fans should bond together and be team leaders like other artist have. But Prince fans are selfish and rather put him down then help. But artist don't sell records anymore.Besides The Beatles which is an unfair comparison. There fans are like no other and They're a group with individual followings of each member. Also Prince had way more than two mainstream sellers....Don't down play his mega sells. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! The fans are not the only reason. The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, etc have the record companies, media, and advertising agencies pushing them. They're heard and/or seen on commercials, movies, video games, and lots of other places. They have plays, circus shows, tribute bands/performers also. Their material is constantly being repacked/remastered/remixed/re-released. So new generations hear and buy their stuff. Elvis really became a big money maker when Precilla Presley started marketing his image and opened up Graceland to the public after he died. Prince isn't pushed in the same way, and few of his songs are played on oldies stations. Prince going independent didn't help his cause either. Hardly anyone knows Prince's post Warners material but hardcore fans and most of it is out of print. His last big hit single was in 1994.
I didn't say Prince had only two albums that were popular, but those are the biggest as far as mainstream popularity goes and then Diamonds & Pearls. Prince was never accepted or sold in the same way as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Bon Jovi, George Michael, U2, or Lionel Richie did. Nor did many of his singles get a lot of airplay or became big hits. Prince was never press friendly, so they have nothing to write about him or any reason to. John Lennon was always talking to reporters about anything and everything. So there's lots of material to reprint. Prince would never do something like Anthology (Beatles) or have his music made into a stage play like Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, Frankie Valli, etc. Prince was banning his music from Youtube and threatening to sue people for putting his photos on websites. So he's letting himself become more and more obscure. B.B. King appears in commercials and guest star on TV programs which keeps him out there where people can see him although he doesn't get much radio airplay. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

One word MASTER TAPES! When Prince owns those U will c a big difference..........He will be all over the place and still be relatively still young compared to them. The owner of those artist Masters is handiling them very well. So will Princey....... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! What does that have to do with anything? The Beatles don't own their masters (Parlophone does), and Michael Jackson owns their publishing. The surviving Beatles (+ Olivia & Yoko) do have approval over any use of their recordings, though. Very few acts own their master tapes, and their music is out there (ie The Temptations). Master tapes also doesn't have anything to do with media coverage either. I've heard that TV programs tend to avoid Prince's music because he asks for too much money. One of his songs was in a early 1980's Different Strokes episode, but was edited out when the show was released on DVD. So he's pricing himself out of the market. damn u need 2 stop right here .. wake up nothing ur saying is gonna change anything. accept the facts of what others are saying about prince here. it's nice 2 have hope but this is just ..laughable what ur saying. prince screwed prince and no matter how much we would like 4 things 2 change in outside world it just won't. unless prince changes it himself and it's not gonna happen anytime soon man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Prince has not screwed Prince. He is still and have been very successful. Even MJ wasn't selling his latest records like he use to b 4 his untimely death. Now his sales are over the roof. So stop being so negative & think positive.... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! yeah but michael wasn't taking a fight for his masters and was still selling 10 times over prince. this isnt a mj vs prince debate i'm trying 2 say here, i'm just saying that prince's excercise over control will never sit right with the music world. he's right 4 claiming what's his, but the industry wants 2 u play by the rules and because he does this, no matter if he gets his masters back as long as he's alive he never will do what needs 2 be done properly 2 market his material. i'm not being negative, i'm being realistic man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Mike didn't have any "latest" records. His last album released while he was living came out in 2001. After Thriller, he's only released 5 albums of new material, and one of those was with The Jacksons (Victory). If you count the remix album Blood On The Dance Floor, that's 6 albums. Those few did better than Prince's post Warners albums, even with the bad press. I'm not talking about who did better.I'm just talking about sales wise Invincible compared to his early albums sold less. But I regret bringing MJ into this. Its not about him here. Not really, this thread is not about Prince at all. It's about The Original 7ven and Jesse Johnson. As far as Mike's albums go, I think Invincible sold more than early albums like Ben and Forever Michael.
