But that's my point.

I find it funny that you're going to all 6 shows, YET you have done a considerable amount of complaining. You had the choice to NOT go, or to comment about the timing and move on. You've been just blahblah about the same issue on multiple threads....

BTW- I was talking about general complaining, but YOU felt the need to respond. lol

Have a great time at the shows! biggrin

I am going to have a great time at the shows, and I wasn't attacking anyone personally. I just made it clear that my opinions have a place here, good, bad, and in between. I probably have defended Chaos And Disorder more than anyone on here...it is not a perfect cd, but most on here that bitch about it can see the back of it clearly, like it has never been played...my first one was full of scratches until I finally just bought a new one. Even New Power Soul, possibly Prince's worst album is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

I love each and every Prince STUDIO release. I love the Rainbow Children. I will be honest, and say that the Darth Vader voice thing annoyed me, and I wish he could've used that between songs and not over one second of the music, but the album was fantastic!! She Loves Me 4 Me, Family Name, TRC, Last December, and The Everlasting Now are probably my faves. The Wedding Feast was the only thing that I hated.

Where I am not so positive about Prince is his business practices. I lost my job of 12 years, and yeah, I feel stupid for paying so much for tickets...nobody forced me to, my own dumb decision. I am selling some of my collection on ebay to pay for it.

One other area of concern is the live performances themselves. Prince's reputation is a little overhyped live...

I think the Controversy, Dirty Mind, Parade, SOTT, Lovesexy, ONA, and to a point...the Musicology Tour...are prime examples that Prince can be as good a live act as he wants to be...

The DAP, 3121 Las Vegas, London 21 Nights, and the 1997-2000 shows...well, Prince was going through the motions on those...

So I have opinions many do not share...but they are mine...and I just place them here...and most just take it like it is...some think I'm this big Prince hater. Not true...I love the Purple Guy...and this website is simply a place I can share my opinions with everyone else...nobody should play too much into that...it's just a damb blog.

biggrin Prince albums are alot like women... Some are very sexy and some are not so attractive.... but u can still find something sexy in the women that aren't so attractive...I believe u can find at least 3-5 jams on each cd... and I am sure that ur jams may differ than other fams jams!!!! It is all part of the Parade!!! U couldn't get this purple high from any other artist!!! Just live 4 love and n'joi da moment!!! Shit could be much worse...ever hear of Propofol? Dig what we have and what is provided 4 us!!!

DOES ANYONE HAVE FOOTAGE OR PICS FROM OCT.9 1999 AT THE FOUNATIN BLEU IN MIAMI??? ORG NOTE ME IF U DO...PLEASE!!!

Ya know i am not complaining here at all but, we all know Prince hasnt had a radio hit in many many years. I am quite surprised that he is playing the three major cities in NC. Raleigh is only an hour and half from Greensboro and Greensboro to Charlotte is less than 2 hours. It will be interesting to see how many people show up at the various sites. If he had chosen only 1 site in NC then it would have been a sellout. With three sites not far apart I am predicting less that 10K per site which is going to look mighty empty since Greensboro holds close to 23K, Raleigh close to 20K and Charlotte approx 19K.

Here we go again. Everytime tickets go on sale we get this same line. So tired. eek

The rest of that first bold sentence is: "...on every thread about the Carolina concerts, about the same thing."

You have been whining and complaining on every Carolina thread about the short notice. If you can't go, okay. Next time maybe Prince will call you and check your calendar first. ohgoon

And I actually wasn't complaining and about your complaining. I was laughing at it, this the falloff Those were MY true feelings. lol

Well, if you read EVERY post, you would see that I am going to all six shows. I'm complaining, due to the ridiculous pricing that has led to none of the six selling out. Unless you count all the under $50 tickets going fast. It will be a funny show with empty spaces up front, and a few thousand in the top of the arena. But it will be those fans who get the last laugh on me. While I spent everything I could, some of them will be pulled up right behind me for half the cost.

Maybe I have complained too much, but I have a lot of knowledge about the music business, and you can to go every other major artist at pollstar.com and you will see 30 or more carefully planned out dates on nearly every major star that is on tour. They put the tickets on sale at least 30 days to even a year and advance, and they make tons of money that way.

Wow I did not know that Prince was not making any money on these shows (LOL) He pulled down 5 million from his NY shows. Perhaps he methods are offbeat but they seem to be working for him after all you are going to go to the shows.

biggrin Now I will say this.... I think the shows R way 2 expensive!!! I think a more reasonable structure would be 200 for the VIP seats...150 for other floor seats...100 for most lower bowls...75 for tix behind the stage and 31.21 for all upper bowl tickets!!!! This isn't a economy friendly tour by any means!!! That being said...I am so pissed I am not gonna see Chaka at the 2 shows I'm going to!!!

I agree, the tickets are ridiculously over priced for this economy. I could barely afford two tickets right now. I doubt I will be able to see two shows. Yea, I'm complaining b/c its annoying. America is fucking broke & he's over pricing his shows. This better be the best damn show I've seen of his.

With that aggravation out of the way I am extremely excited to see the show even if it is some nose bleed seat bullshit! I was going to try & gamble & wait to the last minute to see if the prices dropped but I didn't want to risk missing the show. I guess I could always sell my tickets if that does happen but would I get my money back?

Look forward to seeing all you purple peoples in Greensboro. Amazingly enough the Coliseum is my brother's exit & we'll be staying with him so I got free room & board + it's my cousin's birthday that lives in Winston so it turned into a big weekend for the whole family even if it did cost me outrageously to do it.

I'm still pretty surprised he chose Greensboro. I mean it's convenient for me but still. It doesn't seem like a big seller but what do I know.

FYI... he's not the only one jacking up his prices. Have you seen Lady Gaga's ticket Prices? or Janets? They are performers they don't give a damn about a recession they have bills as well. You bought tickets right? Get over it.

I'm free to express my opinion just as you did smile Besides, just b/c they can price it high doesn't mean they have to. I don't care about those artists, they could jack up their prices even higher for all I care but thanks for sharing.

According to this, NC gets Chaka Kahn and SC gets Lalah Hathaway. As an SC-goer, not exactly thrilled about that.

hes not a pop artist.

hes worked with shelby when they were both on D'Angelo's Voodoo Tour, He's a true soul artist -doesnt need dancers to make up for lack of talent (ie Britney, Madonna, Gaga). Has worked with Eve, Xzhibit, Jermanie Dupri, he has written and/or sung with a who's who in music including Al Green, Josh Turner, Keyshia Cole, John Rich (Big & Rich), Santana and Mint Condition. A 2007 highlight was Hamilton's cameo appearance in the Oscar-nominated film "American Gangster" starring Denzel Washington
