Well we live in a microwave society, and controversy sells. I'm not surprised this story hit many websites/press without getting the facts behind what caused the cancellation. All they saw was "Prince's" name scheduled to perform at an event that was cancelled at the last minute and trumped up the story as though it was all Prince's fault, and I agree with you all that Erykah's name was hardly mentioned or fingers pointed at her for the failure of this event, but yet the press, as usual, ran without obtaining all the details behind the cancellation.

Erykah wanted to still put on the show, even after it was determined Prince wasn't going to perform. She was there and I heard the event staff talking about her still wanting to go on if they would let her. She even wanted to call some other musicians to come perform with her. The event staff didn't want her to perform since they headlined Prince.

I don't think it is fair to point fingers at her. Nor do I think Prince should be blamed. The event organizers weren't prepared either due to lack of ticket sales or incompentence (or both).

Oh, I'm not saying Erykah should be blamed, but yes because the event organizer headlined Prince, the press ran with the story without all the facts ro taking the time to research the details behind the cancellation. You were there to witness what was going on, so I agree with you.

Anyway, I plan on enjoying myself at the show tonight at MSG since it seems to be the last portion of the W2A concert series for NYC, and he's doing a special ceremony before the show, by presenting donations to members of the 3 organizations with a portion of donations from the W2A tour.

That's not negativity it's reality based on how these types of events work, rumblings that the show's selling poorly, and again dealing with Prince which is not always a dependable situation as MOST of his fans who've spent time around these parts already know.

Any uncertainty or misgivings I may have about this show or any future show is due to Prince's incosistency and haphazardness with scheduling shows since the O2. And I say that as someone who's travelled all over the country and the world to see him live. He's worth it, and I WILL do it again. But it doesn't mean I'd bet money on any of his shows going off without a hitch. Buying tix to a Prince show is unfortunately fraught with anxiety these days. That's just his MO at this point and he's gonna have to do a lot to change people's minds.

I guess You are right, I know ANY concert is risky, I had tickets to see Michael Jackson at the O2 and was fortunate to get my money back, I took my mother/family to London since I had already purchased Hotel and airfare. Still, I'm forty, No gray hair and I don't worry about sh*t I can't control. Anxiety is a killer and Xanax is not my filler.

You guys were on point, Since I was in Dallas and my money refunded I'm not to mad. The Promoter told Me that the Band was there but Prince wouldn't get out the car. I would purchase tickets again If P and Badu throw down anywhere.... Your humble Padawan learner...

How did you get your money back? Did they send you a check, or did they credit it back to your card? I haven't gotten my refund yet.
