By reading the article i would say ticket sales are going slow (13.000 up to now) , so a smaller venue has been sought 16.000 folks. this will give a better show!

Thanks for planning so much ahead, mr P.

You overestimated yourself.

And I have to cancel a hotel and re-book etc.

dont think so , because Prince is nearly forgotten in Austria ,due to his almost non existing presence in stores or media.for example as far as I know Lotusflow3r was never released or promoted in Austria.

there are a handful hardcorefans here on the org and quite a lot who remember him dimly back from the 80ties,but they dont know nearly nothing from his work and his power while performing on stage in the last years and now.

thus combined with high ticketprices means poor sales.

so the fault is up to Princes management

And don't forget the short notice. I have 2 friends who would have very much wanted to go to the concert with family/friends, but are on vacation abroad at that time (not with each other, but 2 seperate cases) and thus cannot go. If the concert would have been announced earlier they would have chosen a different time for their trips.

And of course he pissed so many of his fans off who thus are just not interisted in him that much anymore, especially for these high ticket prices. Even I was considering if I want to go and I have been to 50 Prince concerts in my life.

Of course it is not about the quantity but the quality. Enjoyment is the base factor here. And love4oneanother etc...

And I guess you saw him more often than me. You are Dutch, so he played way more in your area.

F -A _C - T - S not old news should be relevant !

Since when are facts inversely related to old news?

Old news could by now be recognised as truth and thus fact.

Thanks a lot for the insightful numbers and information posted.

Based on this: how big would the effect on ticket sales be?

Does anybody have numbers on the Linz presale?

You seem to talk a lot about the "cri$i$" etc. If people would shut up about it and just spend their money like they used to it wouldn't be a self fulfilling prophecy like it is now.
PS: no reproach against you, you're going anyway. But people who don't go because of this deserve a brick against their head brick

I never had been to the States before, so I took the opportunity and watched some more concerts by him over there wink.

No idea, I have been abroad for sometime and hardly go to clubs anymore anyway.
