PRINCE STATEMENT ON GENEVA CANCELLATION

http://www.contactmusic.c...ed_1154759

A PRINCE concert in Switzerland has been axed following unresolved "difficulties" between the venue and the show's promoter.

The Purple Rain hitmaker was due to perform for fans at the Stade de Geneve in Geneva on Friday (23Jul10) but his spokesman confirmed on Thursday (22Jul10) that the gig has been cancelled.

Fans with tickets for the aborted show will be informed later this month (Jul10) how they can claim a refund.

A representative for the star says, "Due to apparent difficulties between the promoter and the venue, Prince has been informed he is now not able to perform.

"Prince is disappointed for all his fans in Switzerland who were due to travel to Geneva. Having played to a phenomenal audience at the Montreux Jazz Festival last year, he was very much looking forward to performing in Geneva.

"Those due to attend the concert should hold on to their tickets for now and will be informed in a few days how to apply for reimbursement. Prince's tour continues at the Espace Nikaia in Nice on Sunday night."

I can see him rescheduling Geneva. He can't afford to piss off fans too much after that Irish incident.

Of course he can... and if he would care, he would have done that Dublin show in the first place! This statement though is making it pretty obvious that the Geneve gig is dead... there won't be any rescheduled show!
