I am happy with all my posts here as they are all seeking to make the whole of the place nicer and better. Despite the false accusations, not one post of mine is seeking to blame anyone but the one person who made most of the posts in the last few months and then flooded them with pictures and articles against the rules of the site and forum, whilst wileding the threat of being banned if you disagreed with him. The enviromment this created has tainted the whole of the site and it needs to be addressed.

.

Please do not delete it because it shows just how ready certain people in the org are to gang up and attack people even just because they said we should all try to nicer to each other. It shows that this was not just a P&R issue, it is a site issue. It taints PM&M and it discourages people from participating and turns visitors away. There are good reasons why Prince hated PM&M.

.

We all can be better. We can decide that responding with violent and mocking gifs is part of the problem and that trying to argue that slapping a person (even virtually) is not an act of violence - when it clearly is.

[Edited 12/27/21 11:19am]

Where is the post where someone ganged up on or attacked someone "just because they said we should all try to be nicer to each other"? Can't find it.

Posting a GIF, from a fictional movie, showing one actor pretend to slap another actor, is absolutely NOT an "act of violence".

Posting this opinion in response to and in opposition to the one you posted is NOT an attack and if more than one person posts such opposing opinions it is not ganging up.

This is a discussion forum where people post their opinions on the topic(s) at hand, not a safe space where people go to avoid dissent, or a bubble where they only have their own opinions reflected back at them. Such places do exist online, you won't have any trouble finding them. Perhaps they will be more suitable to your dispostion?

.

The slap was targetted at me. It is the acceptance of things like this that makes the site what it is.

.

Accepting discent does NOT mean accepting violence.

You keep using that word, "violence", it doesn't mean what you think it does.

.

Violence does mean what I think it means. It includes cyberbullying by virtual threats of physical violence made just because a person does not agree with what you are saying.

.

From your added definition:

.

Full Definition of violence

1a: the use of physical force so as to injure, abuse, damage, or destroy
b: an instance of violent treatment or procedure
2: injury by or as if by distortion, infringement, or profanation : OUTRAGE
3a: intense, turbulent, or furious and often destructive action or forcethe violence of the storm
b: vehement feeling or expression : FERVORalso : an instance of such action or feeling
c: a clashing or jarring quality : DISCORDANCE
4: undue alteration (as of wording or sense in editing a text)

.

This definition does not limit the term "violence" to just physical violence.

.

PS The only form of violence possible in an international forum is the way it was done. All this does is confirm that the issues with P&R are well and truly present in the rest of the site.

The gif and your relucatance to accept what it means is representative of the problems with the Org.

.

It was a virtual slap directed at a member of the site made simply because there was discent.

.

Definition of threat

(Entry 1 of 2)

1: an expression of intention to inflict evil, injury, or damage
2: one that threatens
3: an indication of something impendingthe sky held a threat of rain

.

This was an expression of intent even if it was not possible to carry through - There is nothing in this defintion that says the threat must be carried through to be seen as threat.

.

All this just further proving exactly my point - such violent objection to the simple statement that we can make this place better by just being nicer to each other and limiting our discent to just addressing what was said - to stop just targetting the people that say it.

Well, the reality is that Ben is here. Real life does get in the way of other things, but it should get in the way of things like an internet message board. Dude's got a wife and family.

I don't know Ben super personally, but I have talked to him on a Zoom call. The guy couldn't have been nicer, calm demeanor, kind hearted, and compassionate. Is he perfect? God, I hope not. That'd be boring AF. I think.

It would be wrong to assume Ben has abandoned the site and left it to the mods. And sure, the site got out of hand. It happens. It's not quite the same arena as Facebook or Twitter or Instagram. But here he is, trying to change it. I've talked to Ben post-P&R-shut-down. I can safely assume he's looking at all of it and making new decisions.

And honestly - there are always going to be dicks, ya know? We've both seen 'em here and in the world. There was some weirdo girl on Lipstick Alley who tried to go in on me after I posted there once, about how I was on cahoots and part of a greater conspiracy by Prince himself to gaslight people into things, blah blah blah. I cut and pasted her FB messages to me, trying to buddy up with me then turning the minute I told her she was bonkers. When that showed up on Lipstick Alley, it shut her right up. Is she still out there? Probably. Is she a factor to me? Nope.

Point is there are those types everywhere. Ya just gotta deal with them the best you can, whether it's a witty retort, or simply not pouring gas on the flame that is their dumpster fire. hahaha

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

You are going in circles to justify a threat of violence - Cyberbullying does NOT require that the person making the threat is able to be physically carrled out. The act of cyberbullying is to shut up the person up and isolate them from the group. It is a common cancel culture tactic.

There was no threat. There was no intent of threat. There was no cyberbullying. Just because you claim that you percieved it that way, does not make it so.

A better example of cyberbullying would be PennyPurple making false allegations against me and repeatedly doubling down on them, offering excuses as to why she couldn't prove it, thinking it would be her word against mine. The proof I provided may have stopped the false allegations but no one reprimanded her. Heck, I didn't even report her and doubt very seriously that anyone else did either.

Another example of cyberbullying would be 2freaky responding to my successful self defense by calling me "pathetic". I didn't report him either.

You didn't call them out, or preach to them about getting along. You saved it for those you don't like.

I sure hope that this thing you're doing to make it look like you would be a good moderator doesn't fool Ben and that he can see in this thread alone that your bias makes you unfit for the job.

EDIT: In fact, NOBODY, on any "side", that was a regular in P&R should be eligible to be a MOD. Every single one of us has a hostile relationship with someone and animosity for far too many to fairly and impartially moderate. Just sayin'...

.

That you choose to want to believe that it is OK to virtually slap people here when they simply asked that we ALL be nicer because the issues with the Org are bigger than the issues with P&R does not make it so.

.

I never restricted my call that we ALL can be nicer to each other to just one side of politics - I responded to Freaky about this. I never restricted it to just politics at all - there was no bias. I have seen and personally experienced your frequent attacks against people and so I know that your screen shots are selective and incomplete. The accusations against you are not false - I did not respond to anyone in that exchange because it is bringing up old arguments from P&R - It is not the only old argument from that dead forum that I did not respond to. I am not required to respond to every post made here.

.

I preached to no one. All I said was we should all stop this and be nicer to each other across the whole of the org. There is no bias in we should ALL be nicer to each other.

There is no reason for you assume that I don't like kpowers. I do not recall any prior exchanges with him. Why are you bringing your old hatreds and your old methods with you? All you are doing is showing why P&R was shut.

There are already many gifs that would never be acceptable here and never would have been.

.

This is not P&R. You are just doing the same thing that you always did there. Removing gifs that threaten violence against a fellow orger has nothing to do with authoritarianism.

There have been no gifs "that threaten violence".

Just like this fishslap emoji is in no way a threat of violence. fishslap

.

I was personally threatened with violence to get me stop disagreeing with a poster here. This is a threat of violence by gif.

.

You are correct: Inappropriate use of emojis is exactly the same - neither should be used to threaten violence to shut down conversation. Responses should address what was said, not attack the person.

Once this thread is through (and it already should be) I will NOT bring P&R to GD. I cannot speak for others.

I sure hope that this thing you're doing to make it look like you would be a good moderator doesn't fool Ben and that he can see in this thread alone that your bias makes you unfit for the job.

There is no bias in we should ALL be nicer to each other.

.

It's not that I "choose to want to believe that it is OK to virtually slap people here", it is that reality forces me to believe that no such thing happened. Maybe it's because I have a sense of humor and understand how gifs and memes are used on the internet.

As for your choice to now join in with PennyPurple by making vague allegations against me while offering no proof, I assure you that every relevant post in that thread was saved and shared here, even the ones that weren't a good look for me and might be considered evidence against myself.

But please, share with us whatever evidence you may have to back up such claims. And please, be as specific as I was, vague accusations are a waste of both of our time.
