This is nothing new because often the most ridiculous threads started on PM&M. When they got out of control there they would be shifted to P&R. There were many times that people there recognised these as silly or bait threads and they just died with few or no replies after the move.

The term, Current affairs implies decorum, no conflict, and no hate. What are the chances of that ever occurring here? Moreover, are there any social media forums where attritional attitudes are not a thing?

The reason it seldom happens in any forum in prince.org when threads discuss current affairs is the same reason that when media and people discuss current affairs there is abolutely NO implied decorum and there is frequent verbal disagreement and conflict. We see this when people here disagree with a new Prince release in PM&M; When we disagree with an action by another musician in M:NP; When people disagree on a movie, TV show, sports events or other things that have always been discussed in GD.
