Yes it got flooded with same old same old at times, and the modding was biased, and some threads just drifted into predictable 'my semantics are bigger than your semantics' point-scoring, but in general, it wasn't that bad.

But often admins on any site have to deal with a lot of crap behind the scenes we don't know about.

Well, I guess we'll find out and see. Not much we can do about it. P&R has been a complete shit show the last 3, 4 or 5 years I've poked my head in there and, as others have pointed out, was dominated by right wing discourse. To this day, I find it utterly bizarre on a god damned Prince message board of all places that there's a place for anyone who thinks Donald Trump is a patriot or anything. I can't for the life of me understand anyone taking away Prince's central message and conflating it with any sort of right wing ideology in any way whatsoever (beyond the JW leanings).

I know Prince had his conservative moments here and there, especialy as he aged, but my main take away from what he offered ME at least was Peace, And B Wild! He taught me how to challenge and face my sexuality, be free, celebrate being an individual, dress how I wanted to dress, get funky, transcend race and be totally open about who I was and celebrate my sense of self as I loved others.

I'm totally and completely unable to conflate what I learned from Prince and his art with anything I might hear from Alex Jones, Bill O'Reilly, Trump, Rush Limbaugh or anything in the GOP platform. Maybe I learned the wrong lessons. Time will tell I suppose.

I think a change of almost all the moderators on this site would be most welcome. Out with the old and in with the new.
I also think that PM&M being split into two forums is long overdue. One for discussion of the actual music, and another for everything else. If it's easy to take a forum away, then it must be easy to add or change another.

I guess but Ben, the mod and the people who keep thisplace running aren't getting paid and do it as a labor of love in their spare time. It's easy to criticize how things are done and get handled, and I'm guilty of it myself on occasion, but none of these people working to keep this board alive owe us anything, really.

We add a Prince 101 forum because the Wiki section is empty. This would be a forum where instead of responding to visitors with "google it" instead of answering them, or attacking people for not liking only the right era, genre, style or song. We could provide a welcoming, informative and educational forum on Prince and his music that would not see people scared away - I have seen more new people briefly post and then disappear from PM&M than new people do the same in P&R. It could have links to good discography sites, sticky and ordered posts on releases and reviews and alike.

It would be place where we can discuss SDEs and not Tony M (or former presidents). A place that can become a destination for those who want to be woke to Prince and why we (at least most of us) are here.
